I originally purchased this when I had bought an 82 inch tv. That tv was returned 2 times b/c both were defective. Both were Samsung tv's. I'd steer clear of them. I switched to an 86 inch LG. This sound bar was just not enough. I'm looking into buying the LGSN11RG instead after returning this one.

But rears are Bluetooth wireless. -This Q850a subwoofer activates with just enough bass, not too overwhelming. -the rears are loud enough. Although they are tethered together to a behind the sofa hub. -eArc works great with a LG CX OLED TV.

For starters it doesnt come with a manual and so setup was very difficult without it. I had to figure out how to find the manual on samsung.com based on model. another reason is that although i followed instructions on how to link the tv control to the soundbar so that it turns on when tv turns on the soundbar doesnt turn on when my tv turns on. i have to manually connect both which is annoying and lastly i dont know why but the wifi speakers never seem to produce sound. they appear to be connected and based on the option to put the volume up it shows like its all the way up and i still dont get any sound from it only when i search a video on youtube to test the dolby atmos speakers. Also the price is too high. I bought another samsung soundbar with subwoofer for $300 and sound is better and was super easy to install. this model was $800 and sound about the same as the cheaper samsung sound bar. thinking of returning this one and going for an older model

Thank you for purchasing the HW-Q850A soundbar and for sharing your review. I’m very sorry for the difficulties you’ve experienced with your Soundbar’s setup and that your out-of-box experience has initially fallen short of your expectations. We completely understand your frustrations, and we are here to help.
Please be sure to update the soundbar to the latest version (v.1008.0). Updating the firmware on your soundbar gives you all the benefits of the latest improvements. When the Soundbar is connected to the Internet, Auto Update allows software to update automatically even when the Soundbar is turned off. You can also update by using the SmartThings app. If not connected to the internet, you can download it onto a USB device, and then upload it to your soundbar - no wireless connection required. When an update is available, you can update the Soundbar by connecting the USB drive that contains the update firmware to the SERVICE port of the Soundbar.
In all configurations (Optical, Bluetooth, ARC, and Wi-Fi) when the TV is turned ON, the Soundbar will turn ON. If your soundbar is not turning on, it could be due to another reason. For example, if the Soundbar was used to connect to another device (say a smart phone), then it will remember the last device (smart phone) and wait for a command from that device (the smartphone) and ignore the TV ON command.
You may want to try using a HDMI-ARC connection to the TV. When the TV turns ON, it will send a command to turn on the Soundbar and forces the source on the Soundbar to change to HDMI-ARC. This would make the Soundbar change the source from the prior state it was in.
Your experience regarding lack of sound from the rear speakers is very important to us. Please know, in standard sound mode the surround speakers will only produce sound if the source content is formatted for surround sound, hence why they play when you are watching Dolby Atmos content. If you set the sound mode to SURROUND, GAME PRO, or ADAPTIVE, you will get surround sound effect from the rear speakers.
