The blue tooth box connects with the sound bar. Signal between the two seems to get interrupted so sound goes in and out of speakers. Haven’t spent much time troubleshooting. But definitely not a perfect start.

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung HW-Q850A and for sharing the issues you are experiencing with the connection of your wireless rear speaker kit. Your feedback is important to us and will be shared with our product teams.
Please know, the maximum wireless signal distance between the soundbar and rear speakers is about 33 feet. If there is a wall between the soundbar and the transmitter module, it may cause interference or the sound may not work at all, depending on the material in the wall. Finally, if a device that uses the same wireless frequency (2.4Ghz), such as a Wi-Fi router, is near the soundbar, interference may cause some sound interruption.
Please also make sure your soundbar is updated to the latest firmware version (ver1010.1) featuring the latest connection improvements. Should you continue to experience issues with the sound occasionally dropping, you may want to try reconnecting the speakers manually; this will reset the connection.

Sounds great, dialogue is incredibly clear, and a huge improvement over my previous sound system. I've had some issues with the rear speakers, which are plenty loud, which I think are a problem with the TV and not the speakers themselves.

Have you tried the various Sound Modes offered with your new soundbar? Your soundbar’s Adaptive Sound Mode feature optimizes sound based on each scene and lets you hear voices clearly at low volumes. You can activate AVA by pressing the Sound Control button on your remote (looks like a gear).

not a replacement for a nice surround sound setup

Our 2021 HW-Q850A 5.1.2ch Acoustic Beam Soundbar was designed to deliver immersive 3D sound. Speakers firing from the front, side, and top brings the surround sound to life. Adaptive Sound automatically analyzes the sound signal to optimize sound based on each scene including voices at the lowest volumes.
You can try optimizing audio performance for your specific content by pressing the SOUND MODE button on your remote, and then selecting the desired sound effect by choosing STANDARD, SURROUND SOUND, GAME, or ADAPTIVE SOUND.
