    Samsung works well with Samsung

I bought the Samsung because it worked. I bought a Samsung 75" and with reviews and blogs, found out the Q-symphony that Samsung puts out works in concert with the mediocre speakers that come in the $2k TV. I'm not much of a snob, fairly easily pleased, but i appreciate a bit of volume and clarity at times. My go-to for testing was Sci-Fy when one of the space ships slowly moves across the screen and makes that deep 'warble' sound that is either trying to scare the viewer that these bad aliens are super powerful, or the hero space-ship is about to embark on a great journey. This sounds bar totally works on it own. I know this because it took about an hour to get the wireless subwoofer to connect. My fault was I wanted to connect the system using my fantastic skills, but after an hour, i got impatient and used the wizard that is imbedded in Samsung, and it worked in about 5 minutes. It's a small dedicated TV room at about 11'X11'. This is plenty of sound and experience. I recommend. I can't compare others, there's plenty, but this doesn't make me look for any improvement.

Found this product for more than half off as an open box item. There was nothing wrong it at all. We just needed to take it out of demo mode and it worked perfectly. My hubby is a huge Samsung fanboy so this fit in with our Samsung family of electronics.

I have a difficult time determining if one soundbar surround sound system is better than another. However, I needed an upgrade from my Vizio 5.1 and had been looking for Dolby Atmos. From what I can tell, this system sounds great. Much better than Vizo. I cannot really tell if the "Atmos Effect" is there a lot of the times but that has to do with the movie/show and/or streaming service that I am using. Speakers do not appear to "face upwards" but it does have a very good surround effect for the 5.1.2 system. It might very well be more enhanced with an expansion of side satellite speakers. If watching something specifically tailored for dolby atmos, I think I can tell slightly. My ears might just not be that sensitive. Still, a very nice system. Setup was a breeze and the remote is simple.

Five stars because of the sound!! This thing rocks movies we’ve watched in the past are completely different, we are drawn in!! Only a couple cons so far... Sounded great initially later that night just about all the bass disappeared, had to do a complete reset of the system (hold + and — while bar is on until it shuts off) then had to reinstall the bar on the smart things app, it’s worked perfectly since. Spotty connection while playing Amazon music, it sounds as if the music will buffer for about a second periodically. I’ll have to try pandora or Spotify to see if it’s just Amazon music then update the review. Also it will not operate all of our Alexa smart features lights etc.. that function perfectly when using the Amazon spot. Should be noted it’s not our WiFi as we just set up an orbi wifi 6 router and everything else works fine. Again I feel this sound bar is great for movies, tv and music (when it doesn’t buffer), I’m not returning it!

Waited a long time for something just like this, and I’ll say going from bose home theater system to the Samsung Q850A was definitely a smart choice, being a brand new system on the market and no reviews to research, this system doesn’t disappoint at all it rocks the house at volume 17 and I mean this with no exaggeration, there will never be any need to take this to the max volume and the “atmos”feature is to die for.it the perfect unit at this price scale “worth every penny I dropped into it” and the employees here at Best Buy made so convenient to bring it out to my vehicle and off I went,so the Samsung Q850A is a must have hands down for those gamers and movie goers and the music freaks out there GO FOR IT!!!

Illt mention only cons as there are enough reviews highlighting the pros. 1. Base is a little low to my liking. Have already turned up bass boost in all settings. Still a little on the lower side 2. Not everything that plays gets a surround effect. All streaming apps gives surround effect. But if we try playing a song from Spotify or watch YouTube, only the front speakers have output. Yes, already put the surround mode on as well. 3. Inconsistent with detecting Atmos content. Initially used flex from infinity. Netflix and prime was consistent in showing Atmos in the movie details and in the device display also shows up Dolby Atmos. But Disney plus never showed Atmos logo either on content nor on device display. Tried connecting to Verizon stream device. Most content shows Dolby Atmos . But only very limited content shows Dolby Atmos on display while playing it. Disney plus content started showing atmos, but device display never showed Atmos for any content on Disney. Netflix content only is consistently showing on content description and device display. Amazon prime video though shows Atmos on content, not showing up on device display except for 'tomorrow war'. So basically, when the external device is trying to get the playable format, the soundbar correctly communicated as 'Atmos'. But when the content is streamed, device is not recognizing as Atmos for many in prime video and all content in Disney plus. 4. May not be a con, or a dumb one. I simply can't find the upfiring speakers on the device. Have combed every centimeter on the flat top surface with bright light sources, but i still can't find them. All other speakers facing front, i can easily find without much effort. Which makes me wonder if those upfiring speakers really exist in my model. When it plays Netflix Atmos content, the effect is good enough and loud. Most of the cons can be rectified by an update to firmware i believe. Hope it will be taken care soon

So far so good! Couldn't pass up the open box offer on this surround sound set. Sound is very clear and quite loud (compared to my previous soundbar) on a low volume selection. You can access additional settings in the Samsung Smart Things App which is incredibly helpful. Heads up, the rear speakers are not fully "wireless" as they each have a speaker wire that connects to the wireless hub. This might be a deal breaker for some. Only reason I did not give 5 stars was that initial set-up was kind of screwy. I THINK it might be due to the age of my tv but I'm not sure. Either way, I'd still recommend this set, I'm very happy with it.

Upgraded from a LG 150w soundbar and this thing blows me away. The app is great for fine tuning the sound. Bass makes a presence and really rumbles the room. The soundbar is clear at any level. A great buy for an open box item.

I had a comparably priced Nakamichi soundbar, but I gave it to a relative when I moved so I could try another brand. I never really thought of Samsung as an audio company, so I didn't have high expectations, but the reviews were positive, so I decided to try one. Much easier to set up than my Nakamichi and sound quality is just as good if not a little better. The Alexa integration would be a nice touch, but the soundbar has trouble maintaining a wi-fi connection, even though my TV has a solid connection. Fortunately, losing wi-fi doesn't prevent it from playing sound from the TV.

I had originally bought an N550 soundbar with the wireless rear speaker kit with our new TV. My hearing is starting to fade and I found that I could not get the thing loud enough to hear dialog and keep my wife in the same room. I went in and listened to this system and it was head and shoulder above to my ears. I found this one in an open box for much less than full retail and bought it. I could not be happier. I am able to hear what we're watching and not chase the wife out of the room. Also sounds much better in full ATMOS mode. Highly recommended.

We purchased this soundbar after speaking to an associate who showed us different options and explained the pros/cons. After purchasing, we upgraded our t.v. to a 65" Samsung and paid for the geek squad to come out and set things up for us. Well worth every penny! The sound is crisp and clear, without being overwhelming. The unit itself is not overbearing, but sleek and clean looking. I will have to agree with another review stating that it's a shame there are not more HDMI ports, but we've managed to work around that.

I love the sound out of this soundbar. The subwoofer has a nice deep bass rumble. It was easy to connect to the Samsung Q90 TV. TV shows, sports, music, and movies all sound great. I was also able to connect the soundbar to Alexa with ease, once I could get it connected to my network. The issues I had with getting the soundbar connected to my home network lower this product from 5 stars to 4 stars for me. I'm sure if I didn't have MAC address filters set up on my router, it would be easier, but I like to control the devices on my network. Setting it up on WiFi does present a challenge if you have MAC address filtering turned on at your router. There is no way I have found to get the MAC address of the soundbar from the soundbar itself. When doing the initial setup to connect the soundbar to the SmartThings app I was getting prompted to add the MAC address to my router, or turn off MAC filtering. Samsung support told me there was no MAC address for the soundbar, which is odd since there has to be one to connect to a network. Even the Samsung refrigerator has a button sequence to display the MAC address to connect to WIFI. My workaround was to turn on the Mobile Hotspot on my phone and select my mobile hotspot as the network when connecting the soundbar to SmartThings. Once the soundbar was connected to SmartThings through my mobile hotspot, I was able to view the properties of the device in the SmartThings app. The MAC address is listed in the properties of the soundbar in the SmartThings app. I was then able to add the MAC address to my router and connect the soundbar to my home network.

Bought this Samsung sound bar surround sound system as an open box in "excellent" condition. Huge discount $$ about 40% off original price. The box was a little damaged but everything else was literally brand new unopened in original packaging/wrapping. Sound and quality is amazing watching movies. If, you have trouble connecting sound bar to surround sound speakers press the ID button under the sound bar. Definitely would recommend at the discount/price and condition I got the system for.
