The sound is awesome. and the subwoofer is amazing. and watching movies with the surround sound on is really a good experience . And Alexa voice control is a plus.

The q-symphony is nice except on commercials, for some reason they sound doubled like they are just slightly out of sync. It could use more bass and the Spacefit doesn't have the manual setting of the Q900A/Q950A bar, so is it really working? Could use some preset EQ effects as well. The rears are not atmos so thats a bummer at this price. This is in the home office/ game room so not really my main movie watching location. I have a full Atmos Onkyo RZ Series setup with Polk towers and in ceiling speakers and this will never compete with that. I did however expect some major improvement over the LG SJ5Y with rear surrounds that I replaced it with. Its just not really blowing me away and I would have preferred if it had the cloth finish of the Q900A, which costs more than the QN90A TV that this is attached to. I guess I spent $750's to not have to turn on the soundbar seperate from the TV?

You can try optimizing audio performance for your specific content by pressing the SOUND MODE button on your remote, and then selecting the desired sound effect by choosing STANDARD, SURROUND SOUND, GAME, or ADAPTIVE SOUND.
Adaptive Sound automatically analyzes the sound signal to optimize sound based on each scene including voices at the lowest volumes.

The only thing that would make it better is to have the back speakers wireless as well but overall we are VERY happy with the ease of setup and sound quality.

Bass is amazing as well as the sound bar. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the rear small speakers and a little quiet and could be better. Besides that it is a great product for the $ amount!

Once I corrected that, and connected to my Samsung QN90A TV with Q-Symphony, I was blown away! Take your time to properly set it up and follow instructions, you will be happy!

Surround and Atmos feature is very cool. Easy to set up about 25-30 minutes. Highly recommend, at the $799 price point we purchased at. A much higher quality soundbar than weve been accustomed to.

I was sceptical about soundbars and always used to prefer wired speakers for my media room. The wireless surround speakers are really convenient. The subwoofer packs a lot of punch. Integrated alexa support is nice to have.

Only negative is rear speakers are not fully wireless. They connect with wires to a system that need to be plugged in and that system connects wirelessly to sound bar.

Xbox series x plays Dolby Atmos and that is awsome to. Easy to set up bout double sided tape strips to mount the rear speakers on the wall. Would recommend to a friend.

Everything sounds great and the bass is booming! Love the atmos and alexa integrations. I may buy another in the near future!

Thank god that after getting this set up I've had 0 issues. A/V sync is perfect, no audio delay on video game consoles, it can handle 5.1 PCM (aka it can do surround sound on the latest game consoles), atmos sound good, and I can cast spotify to it with no problems! It also turns on and off with the TV every time I use it, so you rarely need to fuss with the remote. Setup was a bit of a hassle with the 3 different plugs and making sure the sub and satellites were paired with the bar; but after that? Beautiful simplicity. It's not the best soundbar you're ever going to hear, I'm sure whatever that one is will be monumentally more expensive. My only negative is that the bass could use some oomph and more levels. It feels like you either don't quite have enough or it starts rumbling during quiet parts. For me, a movie and video game buff, the sound is fantastic.

Only issue is that the remote was almost impossible to open. Ordered a new one but it was the same. Bad design but not a big enough issue to downgrade the review. My husband used brute force and got it opened.

We appreciate your thoughts on the rear speakers, and your feedback regarding the issues you are experiencing with Voice Assistant setup.
To set up the Alexa functionality, you must do it within the SmartThings app. However, if you are having trouble, follow these steps on your smart phone:
1. First delete the Soundbar from your SmartThings account: At the top left corner of the main page, tap on the 3 horizontal bars > Devices > tap on the 3 vertical dots on the top right corner > Delete > select the Soundbar > Delete
2. Uninstall the SmartThings app from your smart phone
3. Reinstall the SmartThings app from the app store
4. Sign into your SmartThings account
5. Tap the + button at the top right of the main page > select Device > AV > Samsung > Soundbar
6. After the Soundbar has been added, select the Soundbar from the main page
7. Tap on the 3 vertical dots on the top right corner and tap on “Alexa Settings” to log in to your Amazon account

I have a Samsung tv too but for some reason it doesn’t always turn on with the tv. I think maybe because it’s a 2016 tv? Idk but when it’s connected it sounds great.

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung HW-Q850A soundbar giving you the ultimate 3D surround sound for your home theater with the highest level of detail and clarity. With Alexa built-in, you can control your soundbar and other compatible devices using voice commands.
In all configurations (Optical, Bluetooth, ARC, and Wi-Fi) when the TV is turned ON, the Soundbar will turn ON. If your soundbar is not turning on, it could be due to another reason. For example, if the Soundbar was used to connect to another device (say a smart phone), then it will remember the last device (smart phone) and wait for a command from that device (the smartphone) and ignore the TV ON command.
You may want to try using a HDMI-ARC connection to the TV. When the TV turns ON, it will send a command to turn on the Soundbar and forces the source on the Soundbar to change to HDMI-ARC. This would make the Soundbar change the source from the prior state it was in.
Additionally, you can try the troubleshooting steps below to ensure the proper settings are enabled on your Soundbar.
If your soundbar and Samsung TV are connected by an optical cable, Auto Power Link will turn your soundbar on automatically when you turn on the TV.
1) Connect your soundbar to your TV with an optical cable.
2) Set the soundbar to D.IN mode by pressing Source on the remote or soundbar.
3) Press and hold the left direction on the direction pad on the remote for more than 5 seconds or until Auto Power Link appears on the soundbar display to activate or deactivate Auto Power Link.
Note: Auto Power Link only works with an optical connection, and should be turned on by default.
If you have the soundbar connected with an HDMI cable to the Samsung TV, Anynet+ will turn the soundbar on automatically.
1) Connect an HDMI cable from the HDMI OUT port on your soundbar to your TV's HDMI (ARC) port.
2) Set the soundbar to D.IN mode by pressing Source on the remote or soundbar. After about 2 seconds, the source will automatically change to TV ARC.
3) Press and hold the right direction on the direction pad on the remote for more than 5 seconds or until Anynet+ appears on the soundbar display to activate or deactivate Anynet+.
Note: Anynet+ only works with an HDMI connection when connected using ARC (audio return channel), and should be turned on by default.

I was going to wait until I had narrowed down the search to upgrade the TV on the man-cave wall, but once I heard this sound system in the store I was hooked. I brought it home and decided to attach it to the TV in the living room while I continued my search for a bigger TV in the man-cave. Once it was set it up, I realized it's full potential, it's a main attraction and not meant to be tucked away in a small room. This will overpower a small room! The surround sound is awesome and the sub has no problem keeping up with the demand from the movies we watch. I will keep this as a main attraction in my living room from here on out. I have the more expensive SonyHTST5000 on my larger downstairs TV and I would rather watch the TV in the living room so I can listen to it on my Samsung sound bar.
