Truly felt like movie theater quality with room filling bass (I have a 20' x 19' room). The single speaker design (aka soundbar) works well and the Dolby sound was awesome. However, for general TV watching (most of what we do) it was extremely lacking. Sounded like a tin can or vocals with a hand over their mouth. Great for movies and Dolby enabled video games. Returned due to poor TV watching performance and other open box issues.

Music sounds great. Hopefully with firmware update will play DTS format better. Highly recommended if you want to feel you're in the theater.

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung HW-K950 Soundbar with Dolby Atmos Technology. I am sorry to hear that you did not experience the full potential of this system.
A possible cause is that the rear speakers may appear disengaged because the Soundbar may be in stereo mode (no surround effect) when playing non-Atmos content.
Here are a few things you can try to improve the rear speaker performance:
1) Connect the Soundbar to a network and upgrade the Soundbar to the latest firmware version.
2) Check that Surround Mode is set to ON.
3) Different effect modes (Standard > Music > Clear voice > Sports > Movie > Night mode) affect the levels of the surround speakers. Try a different effect to compensate for the source and room acoustics.
4) Try toggling the DRC feature. Dynamic Range Control is a feature that affects the volume levels on Dolby Digital sources.
5) Depending on the mode, the level of each speaker (including the Surround speakers) can be controlled individually.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally got the kw850 model without the rear speakers thinking i could pair radiant speakers and turn it into a 5 channel surround sound system. I could but I lost sound quality going over wifi. This setup is basically the same thing but with auto pairing rear speakers. It rumbles the house and gives a great home theater sound in my opinion. I love how easy it was to set up.

I guess we are going to have to pay the geek squad to come and get them working properly.
