great TV for the price

It's a great TV, although the picture is not quite as good as my 2011 model Samsung Smart TV.
My 2011 may have been an upgraded model because it had a couple more HDMI and USB ports. It also was much slimmer, had a much nicer remote, and a much nicer base that swiveled.
I was a bit disappointed that this newer 2015 model had a real cheap non-swivel stand and a real cheap "toy like" remote.
But overall for the money, I would buy it again. Great sound with my 5.1 surround sound.
Just in case your interested my 2011 model was UN55D6000SFXZA

Overall the tv is what I would expect from a Samsung, though at the price point obviously a few things are lacking. The tv doesn't come with anynet+, like my previous samsung did even though it wasn't a smart tv. As others have said the stand is very flimsy. Anytime you plug in something to an hdmi port the whole tv rocks and wobbles. The sound quality is pretty lackluster and seems slightly muffled at times. All things considered these problems are excusable when you look at the price difference between this television and similar models

I bought this TV in a hurry and I only had a chance to read a few reviews online. Not too impressed being that is a Samsung TV. The picture is great, sound pretty good. Biggest issue that I am having is when connecting to the web browser it takes several attempts to connect and when I finally make it to the web page it gives an error message that the browser had to close unexpectedly. So frustrating, I end up streaming from my phone to the TV. It is going back today. If you don't really need to access the web than it is a great TV.

Wonderful step up from a smaller flat screen

The price drop was too good not to pass up. I remember paying twice as much for my first 55" Samsung flat screen five years ago and that was after doing an exhaustive eight-month web search. Unless you have an eye for extreme detail, this model will fill the bill. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because of this model's plastic border that encompasses the screen (somewhat flimsy in my opinion) and the fact it only has two HDMI ports.

Was looking for a 55" to mount over the fireplace and seen this one advertised. Wanted a 'smart' TV for cable viewing and Watching Blue-ray recordings. Also saw no need for higher than 1080p as nothing is broadcast or recorded above that amount currently and I am not a gamer. Tv has everything I needed and also have 3 other Samsung tvs at home, only smaller. Cannot say anything bad about the brand as there is nothing bad to say.

I love my Samsung TV. The sound quality is awesome. My living room is big and I don't have to have it no higher than 28. No extra speakers needed. The picture quality is great, no adjustments needed. Very easy to setup. Don't lose your remote control. The kids enjoyed karaoke the very first night. Some how they got there iPhone to work with it. Nope not at all tech savy but I am telling great tv. I feel like I am at the movies.

I was looking for a reasonably priced TV, and I'm not a "video snob", needing the latest/greatest 4K experience. I'm a fan of Samsung, and this TV absolutely lives up to my expectations. It's light, and was easy to hang on the wall, the picture and audio quality are great, for a mid-size living room. And the TV options are also great (Smart TV, with support for apps, and a 'sports' button to enhance the picture/audio when needed).

For the price, and this not being 4K UHD and only a 1080p TV, it was a great buy and does everything we need. The built in apps are a little slow and sometimes hangs you up while using streaming services. I fixed that problem by buying a Roku and now everything is fine. I can't complain too much because it was a good deal for the price and I don't really need a 4K UHD TV. Also, going online with this TV and using the built in web browser is kinda awful. My phone could pull up 5 websites in the time it would take to load one on the TV.

Bought this 55" Samsung smart 1080p TV on sale at Best Buy for $499. Our eyes are 15 feet from the screen, so there would be no real benefit of 4k (google Carlton Bale's website for explanation of viewing distances and TV resolution). Also, the stand is so much better than the little "feet." Easy setup, including the smart functions, great picture, and perfectly satisfactory sound without a soundbar. Who can ask for more?

Had purchased Sony 4K. Television not aware that most if not all cable companies can not support this. 4 K was outstanding, but regular HD was very poor.
Was able to return Sony and got new 55in Samsung and am very satisfied. Color and sound outstanding using my Onyko receiver.

This TV is wonderful. The picture and sound are high quality, and the original setup was easy. This is a smart TV and connecting to my network was simple. If you can read you do not need to pay for setup. Just follow the on screen setup directions.
The quality of the picture of regular cable TV is fine (I do not pay for HD) but the Netflix picture is incredible. Great depth and color. I could not be happier with the quality.

I bought my first Samsung TV over four years ago and it is still running perfectly and gives a clear picture. We bought a Samsung TV a couple of years ago from Best Buy and we are in love with it, so it was a no-brainer to get another Samsung. We love this TV and the quality. The picture looks great. Perfect for those Duke basketball games. I can't wait for March Madness to begin to really see the quality of the games!

Bought the Samsung for our gameroom so the kids can play video games and watch movies. Set up to my wifi was super easy and the features are impressive for the price. I have a 60 inch Sony in our family room that I thought had a great picture until I plugged in the Samsung. The Samsung picture is head and shoulders above my Sony. Samsung makes a great product. I would recommend this television, you won't be disappointed.

I’ve had this tv for about two years. The quality of the tv is really good, the picture is clear and since it’s a smart tv it lets me go on Netflix, and any other applications I desire. I’m only giving it a 4 star rating because it’s a bit slower trying to change channels, and going through my apps. Other then that it’s definitely an affordable and great buy!

Purchased one after Thanksgiving. It had really uneven backlighting/flashlight effect. Its a bedroom tv and viewed in the dark so the effects are very annoying. Exchanged for a new one. The new one still had the problem just much less. The tv has outstanding color and contrast. Clear images even on the sd channels. For the price of 449 it is a very good 55 in tv so I kept it.
If you do not like the soap opera effect just go to your tv menu to picture and under picture options turn off "auto motion plus".

Our Toshiba DLP used to be a great TV. Then, ... well... it wasn't anymore. Finally, we moved it out of the way and brought light to our new world. This TV is GREAT. I can remote connect my laptop to it wireless, it is SMART and .... Well, the only thing lacking is the ability to do a pass-through or an HDMI out. Maybe Next Time...

Be wary of buying refurbished items.
More importantly be warned that the folks at Best Buy don't point out that they are refurbished. If I would have known that I would have definitely bought the extended warranty or better yet, put in the extra 50 and bought a new tv. My fault, should have read the fine print at the store. Would think a store that does as much business at Best Buy and almost exclusively pushes Samsung, they would have pointed out that this was refurbished in bold. It wasn't cheap, we spent <$500.00. We have bout Tvs before (non refurbished and still going strong).
Too bad with a company as large as Best Buy is still comes down to "Buyer beware".
Totally out of commission after 3.5 months. So disappointed. : (
If I could give a zero I would.

Great product and great price, used geek delivery and setup. Did hookups on my own, no problem. If using the stand, its base width is 23" , so have a console wide enough. Also have on hand restraining straps to prevent pull over of unit. Best Buy did not carry such straps, went to Walmart. Picture and sound -- personalized via Menu & have not needed sound bar. Watched StarWars as first movies on it. Wow!!

This is my 2nd Samsung Smart HDTV in the past 5 years. The setup is easy, the instructions and integration of peripherals are logical and straight-forward, and the image quality is good. We've had no concerns to report. We watch a significant amount of sporting events and appreciate the special viewing options available to fine-tune your experience with hockey, football, baseball, etc..
