    Writing this review 3 years after purchase. Three years is all we got out of the television. Everything was great until last evening when 1/3 of the picture went dark. Research finds there isn't anything to do about it!

    I just bought this thing after I ruined my old TV that was a little over a year old. It was a Samsung as well with a minimalist remote control. I thought I was upgrading with all the bells and whistle‘s with this new model but I can barely see the screen with all the brightness settings turned up and eco-crap turned off. Did Samsung cheap out on dim LEDs or something? It’s ridiculous, I have to have every light in the room off, watching it at night and it’s still extremely dark! On top of that, I connect my AirPods via bluetooth and the volume won’t go any higher than a whisper in my ear! I did not have either of these issues with my older model. What the hell Samsung? I will likely be returning...

    The 7 Series is subpar to the 6 Series. I have to reset the TV several times a month for no apparent reason other than the fact I turn it on. The sound quality is also much worse.

    Backlight dying after 1yr and 9 months

    I've had this tv for less than 2 years and the backlight started having issues last week. Well, today the whole left side has almost no backlight and the problem is spreading hourly. I am very disappointed to find out that Samsung is notorious for backlight issues. I think I'm going with a Sony this time and definitely getting a protection plan!! My mistake, bc i usually get one. Prior to this, the TV was nice. It wasn't great, but it was under $600 when I bought it, so I wasn't expecting great. But, it was nice and served our purposes. I am sad to see it go....

    Missing lots features

    Missing lots of features I had an older model of Samsung 4K that went dead (sound no picture) and replaced it with the RU7100. The new TV is missing audio output connection to hook up to my stereo. I tried the Digital audio and all I get is hum. The HDMI output does not work with older stereo receivers. Such a simple thing but they are too cheap to maintain their old quality. They also have no way to connect a PC wirelessly to the TV like their old model. Smart View no longer works with their new TVs. Again - their software sucks.

    Don't waste your money

    Will not stay connected wirelessly to the internet

    I took a gamble on this after reading many bad reviews saying this will not stay connected wirelessly to the internet. Well my gamble didn't pay off as sure enough I had the same problem. I even performed the software update in an attempt to fix it and still no luck. It connected to my network initially, but after the TV is turned off for a certain period of time and then turned back on, it will not reconnect. Returned one day after purchase. Obviously I have many other devices that work just fine wirelessly with my router so this TV is an anomaly. Should be plug and play even though it is a budget TV. Unacceptable in 2019. Otherwise I'm sure it's a fine TV and may work well if you play to hardwire or use another device for streaming aside from the TV itself.

    Defective

    My 7 series Samsung isn't even 2 years old and it developed a white horizontal line 3 inches from the bottom of the screen. I have never had an issue like this before and this was my 3rd Samsung TV, but the most expensive one I bought. I thought Samsung would help me out---instead they told me it was no longer under the 1 year warrantee and they had a repair shop call me to say that it would be at least $260 to fix and likely more $ once they figure out the issue. Now I have no other choice but to look for another TV. It won't be a Samsung. They do not stand behind their products the way any reputable company should.

    The remote is the worst I have used in 15 years. Even my old cheap Apex TV has a better remote. Does not really "work with Alexa" as the product states. If you fight with it long enough, you can configure Alexa to turn it off ...most of the time... and that is all. NOT one of Samsungs best products.

    Black line down right side

    Purchased 11/24/2018 so only 1 yr 7 mo. All of a sudden have a black streak down the right side. Samsung said they have had no complaints on the issue and quickly disconnected me from chat after I copied and pasted some of the complaints. Not the quaility I remember. So off my list of go to TVs NO SAMSUNGS and NO VIZIOS cheap quality and bad service. I really should not be dealing with this issue or any issue for that matter this quickly. A rip off and feel they stole my hard earned money. THEIVES!!!

    Already broke twice

    Model: UN55NU7100. After ten months of use, this TV developed a dark bar down the right side. This was fixed under warranty - they replaced the panel and the power supply. Three months later the TV will not power up. The authorized service center quoted 200 dollars plus parts. After two failures in 13 months, I don't see throwing anymore money at this. Instead, I think I'll try a different manufacturer. This Samsung is crap.

    Worst Samsung tv I ever had. I always buy Samsung, we nevar had any problems with this brand until now. It has been just 3 1/2 years and the tv died yesterday. Half of the screen is black, so you can hear it but not see anything. So disappointed. The last Samsung tv we had in our living room last 10 years. Not recommend it at all.

    The Samsung LED TVs all have a bad capacitor, it will die within 3 years. Do not buy, or at least pay the extra $$ for the extended warranty. Samsung will do nothing for you. Horrible TV for what you pay for.

    Bad TV and Bar Warrantee Policy

    Purchased this TV. Screen stopped working after 1 month,. There was not physical damage to the TV. This Best Buy wouldn’t honor the warrantee they sold me on the TV.
