Picture quality is good considering the resolution and lightning source. Blacks aren't truly black, sound really requires a soundbar, which we have. This replaced another Samsung that started to bloom after 8 yrs. A good run. We like Samsung as a brand.

Thank you for your feedback on the CU8000 TV Software. You can choose what your TV does when you turn it on by going to Settings > All Settings> General > Smart Features.
When you set Autorun Smart Hub to be on, the TV displays the Home Screen automatically when you turn the TV on.
If Autorun Last App is set to on, the last used app automatically runs when you turn on the TV. You can turn this function on or off.

So Far, So Flawless
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This item is an almost identical replacement for the Samsung 55" smart TV purchased just over two years ago. The original TV developed white circles, which indicated issues with the LCD panel. So far the new unit is functioning flawlessly. Unlike the original TV, it is not VCR-compatible, but then, we haven't watched a DVD in a decade! Would strongly advise anyone reading this to invest in a BestBuy extended warranty. We did, so the new TV cost us nothing.
