So I don’t know if it’s fair to compare to a 12 year old lcd but this is an upgrade for sure, games are breathtaking, shows and movies seem so real. I feel I do have to tweak the color a bit but that might be personal preference. The tiny bezel gives you an amazing full display. The speakers actually sound really good. Samsung has their own live tv which is cool and a bunch of app like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, and more. I definitely recommend this tv.

This TV replaced another Samsung. It was a 720p resolution model. So clearly a huge upgrade in that respect. All menus and setup are fairly straight forward. I’ve not fiddled with making the picture the best it can be. It is “supposed” to be possible with customized settings which are included. Overall a good set. I am though, unsatisfied with the finish of this model. It was packed and seemed brand new, which is what I presumed I purchased. NOT refurbished. But several of the corners have very rough (scratches) finishes. Nothing on the screen/display mind you-that seems mint. See picture which I could flash and angle where one was most visible. Having said all of that, if the “finish” or details don’t really matter, the picture is very good and recommend for this price point.

I enjoy the TV. Awesome picture. I really enjoy staying in and watching movies in HD movies. Web apps work great. Only real con is the glare (image attached) Almost have to invest in blackout curtains. I believe the Q80 has an anti glare coating but is it worth the extra $300? Depends on the time of day.

I bought this TV for my bedroom. I connected to my network without a problem wireless.Comes with some channels so I don’t need another cable box. Great picture and sound. So far I recommend it to 2 friends

The 55” Q70 QLED tv is a very nice high end addition to our game room at the “open box” amazing price. The picture quality is comparable to our OLED. We have no cons so far. We purchased a replacement remote a WaLa... an amazing purchase.

I purchased this TV three months ago and it worked great for a while, but recently half of the screen went out and there were vertical lines instead of the picture. I called Samsung and told them about the issue and they said that they would have to send someone out to look at it. After almost a week, a technician was sent out to try to fix it. The technician replaced the entire front panel and it worked.......... for about a day. The lines on half of the screen returned. I called Samsung again and even thought they recognized that their attempt to fix the TV failed, they want to start the process all over again, after talking to two individuals at Samsung, they told me that they would escalate the issue, but it could be another 48 hours before they would first get in touch with me. How much longer do I have to wait! It is bad enough that I received a TV that barely lasted 3 month before it had a serious problem, but Samsung’s customer service does not show any concern for a customer that received a bad product and has no sense of urgency to make it right. They will tell you they are sorry, but they certainly don’t act like they are. If you gamble on a Samsung TV, I hope it works, because if it doesn’t be prepared to be without a functioning TV for quite a while.

There are literally thousands of complaints about Samsung’s failed network cards and circuit boards. Seriously, why risk it: there are many alternatives. Disclosure: my TV failed after 13 months. Tough luck, per Best Buy.

This samsung tv is super good for gaming on my ps4 pro. Color looks excellent and super clear. Love the freesync in the game mode on this tv I can definitely feel the difference when I play games on it. Great for watching movies as well because the colors are bright and dark when needed. Had to tweek some settings to make it to how I like it but it is super easy to setup. Sometimes the tv turns itself back on right after I turn it off but its not really a biggie and doesn't do it always (I think its the remote doing it because I tried facing remote away from tv and it doesn't turn back on).

I bought this 55" samsung qled to replace my 43"sharp 4k since i game alot and wanted to take advantage of my ps4 pro and xbox one x.i'm happy to report that this qled tv exceeded my expectations...i mean the colors are just so bright and vivid.i can make out even more of the smallest details and just crystal clear picture not to mention the sound is pretty good.one note is this television is a bit heavy so u would need 2 people to take this out of the box and place it on a tv table or a wall mount.other than that it is a excellent television and the quantum dot technology is quite impressive on this model.my room is small and with this 55" tv it feels like a movie theater experience by how loud it can get.i love it and highly recommend it to anyone to go out and purchase it.

The in-depth, native software make for an easy initial setup. Fine tuning later reveals improvements for picture quality, sound, and apps. additon or removal. Some where in my information searches, I came across two complaints, which proved to be false: (Bolts necessary to wall mount not included & trip to hardware store necessary) FALSE; (Not Tivo friendly) FALSE. I found the Tivo complaint AFTER purchasing the QN55Q70. Setting the Samsung Smart Remote to control the TV on/off & volume also enabled me to fully control the Tivo Bolt. I select the Televison Provider (Spectrum) from the apps at the bottom of the screen for access to the Tivo. It has taken a couple months use to figure out Samsung remote accesses to recording, One Pass, etc. If I get stuck, I grab the Tivo Remote to finish the job. i had the Geek Squad wall mount my other Samsung TV, UN50NU6900FXZA, after reading several complaints about specialty bolts not contained in the mounting hardware. Not so, all the necessary hardware was in the setup pkg. So simple, even I could have mounted it to the existing wall mount. Both are great TV's. The QN55q70 amazes me daily with the picture quality.

After doing a lot of research, I decided to invest in a new TV after our old LCD set died. Because the bezel is so thin, this 55" unit actually fits in the same space as our old 49" set - with room to spare! The picture is absolutely stunning, especially after I adjusted it to our particular viewing preferences, and the built-in features/apps are amazing. Not only can we watch Netflix and Amazon prime without any external devices, we can mirror our mobile devices to the TV too - no extra devices needed! Also, this set has one of the best sound systems I've ever heard. The only thing that I'm not crazy about, but continuing to learn how to use, is the simple remote control. It's about the size of a Roku or Apple TV remote with about as many buttons. However, it was easy to pair our Spectrum remote with the TV, so we tend to use it instead. Overall, I would buy this TV again in a heartbeat. The Q70 series includes a lot of upgrades over the Q60, but the Q80 seemed like overkill (and about $300 more). I feel like the Q70 is the "sweet spot" for QLED TVs from Samsung, and to me, it looks even better than the even pricier OLED sets from LG.

Every four or five years I purchase a new tv. Usually I look out for the best tv from the previous year and keep my eye out for that tv to hit clearance. This time I spotted this tv as an open-box at my locale store. It was missing the remote, but being samsung, all samsung remotes for all samsung tvs, so I used my current samsung tv remote until I got another one. The picture is great of course. True blacks and no color banding. Not all tv's have a 120 hz panel, this one does, which is important to me as I like very little motion blur. Smart tv functions work great and when I want to watch 4k content from amazon, vudu, etc... it works very well. Dvd's and Bluray's look better than previously on my steller 1080p 120hz samsung tv. Not all open-box tvs are equal, but I'm very happy with this purchase.

After putting in a lot of time researching TV's, I chose the Q70. I came down to this one or an LG. With a 30% price difference, I am not in the least dissatisfied with my choice. The picture quality is amazing. View content that is 4k is simply eye popping with the clarity of the picture. Colors are nice an vibrant. Even viewing from the side still gives a really good picture. Set up was really easy. The TV actually found my Samsung phone and I did the whole setup using the phone app. I have had the TV for a month now and I am really please with my purchase. I would recommend this TV.
