Outdoor Patio TV

Big enough to be seen from nearly all the seating areas on our patio with great picture even at an angle. Adding the separate Terrace Speaker provides clear sound as well.

I got this outdoor TV for my roof deck, covered by a pergola/covering to protect it from the elements & sun. I also got the Samsung Terrace cover to go with it for further protection that we use religiously after each use. The TV has defected with streaks down the top and center of the screen, which the product team claims as sun-related and improper installation. This is clearly a product related defect given it has hardly partial sun with my covered pergola roof above it. The TV is still under warranty but customer service claimed it was "Improper installation" and cannot do anything to help. They originally told me they would send a specialist out to come look at it but instead relied on pictures of TV alone to diagnose this "Improper installation" even though they cannot see any of the surrounding pergola/coverings. Samsung has proven to me that as of today they still cannot make a high quality outdoor TV and unfortunately for us consumers, Samsung is not willing to take responsibility for these defects and repair/replace this product still under warranty. Very poor customer service and worst investment I have made. -This comes from a Samsung TV loyalist up to now.

Thank you for your review of The Terrace TV. Please know that The Terrace Partial Sun TV is designed for use in partial shade, with exposure to indirect or ambient sunlight only. To ensure proper performance, the TV screen should not be exposed to direct sunlight. If the TV screen is exposed to direct sunlight, it can develop dark areas. This is a common symptom and dark areas will disappear when the screen is taken out of direct sunlight. Continuous exposure to direct sunlight may cause damage to the TV screen.
Despite the IP55 and IP56 ratings, your TV and remote control are not impervious to water damage in any situation. To help prevent damage to your products, avoid the products being subjected to:
• Water projected by a source greater than 6.3 mm against enclosure from any direction or submersion in water.
• Water projected at greater than 30 KPa (4.4 PSI) with a water volume greater than 12.5 liters/minute for more than 3 minutes and extreme weather conditions.

You can see the 55 inch Terrace TV picture clearly in the daytime from 15-20 feet away- that's impossible! I tried and tried to use indoor TVs outside because I didnt want to spend the money. The indoor TVs have so much off axis glare and wash out during the day with the smallest amount of light on them, even under a covered patio. You give up and go inside. This Samsung Terrace TV, one of the few outdoor TVs with "smart TV" features, is the best investment in my patio I ever made!

Will not power on, no standby light, verified all power. Its way to heavy for the size, the weatherproof door is cumbersome, and the 100x100 VESA mount is way too small. SoundBar on the 55" is not flush as you would expect and you can see the holes on the mount for the larger sets. WAY too expensive for a poor design.

Eventually got it replaced, albeit directly through Samsung and not Best Buy. Was quite a process and not fun waiting on a replacement. Kind of got the run around through Best Buy. This one is still working after a year and happy with it to date.

Didn’t think we would really use a TV outside that much, but my husband really wanted it. Well, I was wrong and my husband was right. But I have to say, I have used it more he has.

The two techs, Trevor H & Roland P were fantastic! My only suggestion would be to discuss the location prior to purchasing to insure you get the correct TV for an outdoor location.
