The T.V. stopped working very shortly after we had it and Samsung didn't help whatsoever but Best Buy took care of things and now we have an LG that we love.

Bought this TV upgrading from a 2008 40" Samsung. The 40" was still working great but me and the wife wanted a bigger screen, and step into the smart TV and 4k world. I am very happy with it so far. The picture quality is great. The colors are vibrant and it almost seems like you are in the room with the people of the show you are watching. We don't subscribe to cable, so the smart-TV features were important to us. I have a PC (laptop) sitting right next to the TV as a media center that had a 1 Gbit/s ethernet cable running to it, so since I only had the 1 cable I initially I decided to setup the TV with wifi instead... unfortunately that was the ONLY minor con I found with the TV so far: It's built in antenna might not be great. Although the TV is in a room that is at least 40ft away from the wireless router, my laptop and phones still have great performance in that room, testing at 20-40 Mbps on internet speed tests...(My internet connection as of writing is 300 Mbps and it tests like that on wired connections). Since we were expecting to stream 4k as well (Netflix recommends 25 Mbps minimum for that), I decided to buy a little 5-port 1 Gbps switch and split the ethernet cable between the TV and the laptop. That was a great decision, because with the Ethernet connected, the TV is buffering up quick, Netflix shows convert to HD within 5-10 seconds of starting, and 4k streaming in less than 15 seconds after starting the stream. So far absolutely NO negative comments, with the WiFi range perhaps the only exception. If you have ethernet available to you, just plug it in the back of the TV and you are golden. If you do not but you have one in a room nearby, put a wireless access point there and you should be good too.

Decent television for the money and it's 4K. BestBuy just didn't have it in stock so I bought this one and it's not as good as it should be.

I was given permission from the boss to pick out a television as my Christmas present. Since she twisted my arm so hard I was off to Best Buy at 7 am on Christmas Eve. I watch Movies, Television, Sports and no gaming. I had been reading reviews on all of the Televisions for the last few months narrowing my focus to LG, Samsung and Sony. I have been planning to move to 4K for the last several months anyway. This isn't to say the other brands are terrible but these are the televisions I liked the best when I had seen them in person a few weeks prior. When I arrived at Best Buy I reviewed all of the TV's again and narrowed it down to the LG OLED and the Samsung S8000. I really thought the OLED was a superior picture however I had four points in my mind that sealed the deal on not going OLED: 1) Long term reliability of OLED is unknown, 2) Why haven't other manufacturer's climbed on the OLED bandwagon, granted cost is higher but Samsung cancelled their program to concentrate on UHD, 3) Is 6K or 8K right around the corner making a much higher investment a waste in my mind and lastly the biggest obstacle 4) Price, $1800 more for a 65 inch OLED and $800 more for a 55 inch OLED. Price and quality were the biggest factors, Samsung offered the best combination of both. I get the Samsung home and turn the television on and the normal channels I watch are uninspiring. I had purchased a nice 4K Samsung player UBD-8500K with the TV and I put in a 4K movie of the Hunger Games. The picture was nice, but colors were animated and not crisp and the movie motion was choppy, It was difficult to watch. Anyway, move ahead a few days, I don't know if it took time for the TV to break in but I watched a lot of Blu Ray movies and the more I watched the picture has become tremendous. The Avengers Civil War was very crisp and this is only 1080P, I then watched another 4K movie Sicario, and it was perfect. The SUV fast paced car scenes were no longer choppy like they were in the Hunger Games movie. The colors were nice including black level which i found acceptable even to the far superior OLED. To make a long story short, I have no buyers remorse, I like the TV and I appreciate the 120 Hz motion rate. I recommend purchasing this TV if you are ready to move to 4K

I bought this on the recommendation of the Best Buy guy. After hooking it up I was impressed with the picture but after to going to the YouTube app on the TV and entering in 4K and watching some of those videos I was in awe. It's unreal... I'm not one to be too impressed by sound and picture but this was unreal. I was strapped to the screen for way longer than I should have been. Picture was clear and sound was great considering how thin and small the Tv and speakers are. Set up was really a breeze (hooked up to wifi), and I couldn't be happier. Would buy same tv again.

I have had this TV a week, it has a great picture for movies and sports. The regular tv channels look great too, watching football was fantastic. The only issue I have at this time is that the picture looks strange sometimes, like it is fake. The background in the tv looks green or blue and faded with the people or objects focused on look way too clear, giving the view a strange feel. It is not all the time just occasionally. Maybe it is just a perception. This is my first new TV in 11 years, I upgraded from a 42" 1080 and wanted that crystal clear 4k in a 60". Blu-Rays look exceptional and DVD's look great. The colors are sharp and detailed. I like it, I just think they need to fix the depth on the scaling.

I purchased the Samsung television for an upstairs game room to home theater conversion. The BestBuy delivery was great: early and the guys too the TV upstairs where I could unpack it. After mounting on a stand, I noticed one rather significant problem: the power cord is about 5' long. Much too short to string down the stand and over to my surge protector (I guess they assume the home owner is going to have an outlet on the wall immediately behind the elevated location of the TV). One would think that a TV as nice as this would have a cord a bit longer. After finding an extension cord, I was able to finish the installation. The TV has an outstanding picture and, of all the equipment I had to program this weekend, it has one of the easiest user interfaces for initial configuration. I am not quite sold on the device interface box it uses rather than having to wire individual HDMI cables to the TV. Since I have a home theater receiver (Onkyo), I only had 1 HDMI going to the TV in the first place.

Great video quality and motion rate. Love the color and brightness of the TV. No issues seeing the TV from close range and on an angle. My mom watch non HD content often and this TV upscale them so nicely that you don't feel like watching sub standard video. The same video looks horrible on my old 60 inch HD tv. Good in build sound system and easy to use remote.

This TV is awesome! Easy set up, incredible picture, great sound! Another bonus that I didn't expect was when I turned on my I beats ear buds the TV recognized them and I can use them and crank up the volume without disturbing others. I would think this feature would be listed in the specifications but it isnt.

I upgraded from a older TV and it was worth it. With so many great TV 's out it took much research when picking this TV. This is one of the best tvs out. Great picture, HDR, for great HD viewing and also 4K makes the picture so great. Samsung really nailed it with this TV. You won't be disappointed. This is a excellent TV.

I upgraded to this tv from a 55in LG. The LG was a Black Friday version- I recommend staying away from those even if they claim to have all the latest features. While the specs for this Samsung appeared to seem the same as the old LG, the difference between the two are like night and day. Awesome picture quality on this Samsung. My only gripe and why I docked it a star is because it was a pain to properly mount. It says it is vesa 400x400 compatible for mounting but the screws I had with my mount didn't work. The manual said 43mm M8 screws would work. After searching about this online, others appeared to have the same issue. I needed up having to go to the hardware store to find proper m8 machine screws. I actually also had a problem with the one connect mini you are forced to use with this tv... After getting it mounted the tv kept saying to make sure the one connect was properly attached to the tv, which it was. I had to call Samsung customer support. The had me turn the tv on, unplug the one connect from the tv, plug it back in, then unplug the one connect from the outlet, and then wait 1 minute. This seemed to do the trick

After returning the Sony that I first purchased, I chose this Samsung model and after setting it up I was just blown away by how good the picture is on this tv and how good the contrast is.The blacks are very rich and when set on Dynamic color this tv is bright and all the colors just explode all over the screen. The WIFI works great and it really locks on to the signal much better than the Sony did.You can view 4k content on YouTube and show the TV off to your friends like I did.Samsung really knocked it out of the park with the quality and beauty of this TV.If your looking for a great all around TV that's very close to Oled Tvs but for more than half the price then I highly recommend this incredible Tv.

    Light bleed!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I purchased the samsung ks8000 60 inch on 10/31/2016. After watching numerous videos and web browsing and speaking to store sales persons. It seemed that light bleed sometimes occurs especially on edge lit tvs. That is the issue Im am currently experiencing. Light bleed is almost never discussed because unfortunately most people see a tv in the store and just buy it, without much research and going by the store display mode. Im writing this review to help others interested in the purchase of this item. I gave it 2 stars because... Well first off. The ks8000 does a good job of bright screen display and very good colors, once calibrated. Which is just ok out of the box. The tv itself has a higher end look to the design. Nice chrome bessel. ONLY CHROME ON BOTTOM OF THE 60 INCH.... it does not have chrome on the top and side bessels. They are black. Why Samsung only does that on the 65 inch but not on the 60 inch, is beyond me but a little disappointed with their money saving techniques. Especially for a tv that sells for between $1400 / $1899. Anyway, On to the biggest issue with this tv. When you watch dark shows or movies, the light bleed on the bottom edge and some corners can be very annoying.... With spending the money I spent on this thing you'd think the manufacturer would produce a little higher quality. They have to know this is an issue but continue to sell this.... Truth is. if you are like me and want the best bang for your buck. Take the extra money and buy an OLED tv or a Cheaper plasma. I think companies have a little longer to go before they figure out how to produce pure black levels with no light bleed on edge lit and back lit LCD panels. This is when I especially noticed the problem. Its harder to see with really bright movies or backgrounds but definitely noticed the light bleed during dark scenes and halo glow around all words or icons on screen... To sum it up, Great picture, especially pixar movies as I compared it to my Samsung plasma. does a good job there. Horrible for light bleed in edges and corners and halo effect around words on screen. If this tv was way cheaper I'd expect this but for the money, it's definitely not worth it. I hope this helps to anyone looking to purchase a new 4k tv. A strong word of advice. Do Your Research! if you see light bleed issues don't waste your time. eventually it will bug you and you'll be stuck with a big square panel of disappointment. Taking this tv back today for a full refund.
