Excellent pictures great price but if you are looking for a smart TV this one is not for you. And there is no audio output so you have to buy another gadget to be able to use your surround sound system. This TV would of earn a five stars if they would provide just a simple set of audio output.

This is a great bare-bones large screen LCD TV that is made by Samsung - not sure of screen is theirs, though, but it looks great in our living room. For $1k it cannot be beat. You need to view this tv kind of like a monitor....not smart tv crud, I get that from other sources and do not need to over pay for it on a tv. make sure you get high speed HDMI cables for any source with 1080p. Picture can be callibrated - you have to play with the controls. Worried about its sound quality? If you don't have this baby hooked up to a receiver for surround sound then that's your problem. Overall, I am happy about this TV.

I purchased this TV after finding it online at BestBuy.com and seeing that my local store had it in inventory on the website. When I arrived at the store, the model was not on display and it took the sales rep a bit to find it in the back -- apparently it had been a Black Friday special a few weeks earlier and they had not intended to make it generally available, but the sales guy offered it to me at the online price (and offered free delivery). At $1099, it was BY FAR the least-expensive 65" LED available. The picture is perfectly adequate, the sound is about as good as one would expect with built-in TV speakers (read: buy a sound bar or the like, as I'd recommend with any TV these days), and the features/inputs are extremely limited. However, if all you need is a good, large screen to hook into a larger entertainment system, it's perfect -- and comes at a fraction of the cost of a fully-loaded equivalent.

I bought this TV during 2013 Black Friday and replaced a 47" LED Toshiba. The difference in size and definition is huge.
I did not care about the number of HDMI inputs or SmartTV features, as I only needed one HDMI input to connect to my DENON AVR-2312CI receiver, so this was exactly what I needed for the best price possible ($999!).
The TV worked right up from the start and has been working great after more than 1 month. Would recommend to anyone.

This a great TV if you are primarily looking for size. This is NOT a 3D Smart TV but it can be expanded with a Roku or something similar. The picture quality is great and Samsung makes TV's with longevity. This is my second one and the first one lasted 10 years. If you are looking for a TV that YOU can customize this is a great option. I've added a Roku and a sound bar and now I have it all. Great purchase for the price.

This tv is great! The picture quality is really good. There's only two HDMI ports so if you multiple consoles you have to buy a splitter. There's no sound output so if you have a surround sound it's useless. Overall pretty good.

For the cost this is a great TV. There are at times I notice, what I would call, blurry pictures. This seems to be related to how I have the settings and how it was filmed. Mostly notice this with TV shows and not so much with sports. The Soap Opera Effect. I am sure if I tweaked the setting a bit I could fix it but I love the picture when playing blu-rays too much to mess with it. That is where I think this TV excels, when playing blu-ray movies. For the value, bought on the black friday special, it was well worth it.

We purchased this TV on Black Friday at a great price. The TV is huge with a very crisp picture. The largest challenge we ran into was there wasn't Audio Out function to hook up older home theater systems.

We love the large and beautiful picture. You do need to adjust the color balance for each input but that's easily done and once done that's it. It would have been nice to have more component and HDMI inputs. Also the speakers do not have good sound but they probably assume you will use a surround sound system. All in all a great large flat screen TV that we are very happy with.

Bought this Tv a year and half ago on black Friday, two days ago the right side of the screen went dark. I am currently trying to contact Samsung to get it fixed because i think its unacceptable that the Tv is going up in such a short period of time. I'm pretty sure i bought the extended warranty but have not located my receipt yet do to a leak at my last residence that destroyed some of my documents. Hopefully i get this problem taken care of because i had a 50 inch Sony that has lasted over 6 years with no problems and kind of regret not getting another Sony. The quality of the picture is good and up until this incident i was happy with it.

I looked and compared a long time. Decided I didn't need a "smart tv" since I had Apple TV. Saved a bundle by buying a "dumb" tv. Getting harder to find though. The price was unbelievable for the size! Picture quality is remarkable. I highly recommend this product. Hooked it up to my surround system and it looks and sounds great. You won't be disappointed!

For the price this TV puts out a quality image once it has been properly set up with a video disc like AVIA. This is not a smart TV and is very bare bones feature-wise It has very limited inputs on the back, but if you're using an HDMI receiver this will not be an issue. Like any other modern television the speakers are bad and an external sound system is recommended. This television is back lit and not edge lit so you get a deeper back but also it won't suffer as much from light bleeding in from the edges of the image. If you want a nice, large image, don't need smart TV and you have the external equipment for audio, this is a great value.

Solid budget TV

This is a very solid budget TV. If you do not care about 3D and already have some sort of streaming device to handle Netflix, Hulu etc then this Samsung would be a good option. One important thing to keep in mind...this TV does not have an audio output, so you will want to have an AV receiver that can handle HDMI switching if you will be using it in a home theater environment.
Picture quality is very good for the money. This is not a 240hz TV, so fast moving scenes are not as smooth as more expensive sets. If you watch a lot of sports/action movies/video games and are sensitive to jittering, you may want to spend a bit more on a 240hz TV.

we like the size and the color is good. The only bad thing is the color black on the movie mode. It is shadowy. It doesn't happen in any other mode. Over all it is a great buy.

This was a Black Friday special. I bought it without seeing the picture because the price was great. Best Buy really needs to connect their televisions to a quality source for viewing. Who knows, I might have spent twice the price! Anyway, the picture is good but the tv is a stripped down LED - only 2 HDMI ports. I have a receiver that adds HDMI ports. We also have a ROKU and blue ray player that handles SMART TV needs. I didn't want to spend money on extras I would not use so this tv was fine for me.

We were shopping for a tv with high quality picture and no internet or apps. When am I going to sit down and pay more money for apps I won't use. And be honest, most people don't take advantage of "smart tv" extras. It goes to say the same about 3D, how often are you going to sit the comforts of your home with those big cumbersome glasses on. So this gives a great picture but horrible sound. Sometimes the sound is so bad people sound like they are mumbling. But the picture is where we were searching for amazing quality and this fits the bill. Just make sure what your watching is 1080P or higher in quality.

I'm a lover of Samsung products and this tv is no different. I've read the complaints about its lack of features and it is a drawback if you're looking for a"smart"tv, which I wasn't. My Samsung bluray player does all I need it to do. The sound is a bit disappointing but again, I'm using a surround sound so I'm not bothered by it. If you're looking for a quality picture, great size for the price then this is definitely the set you want from a trusted brand. If you want all the bells and whistles of a smart tv with more than 2 HDMI ports look further. I can only say good things about my experience thus far

This TV was purchased as our second 'big screen' for the basement, so expectations weren't so high. The size and brightness are paramount, the picture quality a bit lacking when compared to our other Samsung TVs. I bought a suround-sound system to use with the TV, so the quality of the sound wasn't an issue with me. The lack of internet connectivity was also resolved by having a DVD-player with built-in wifi. So, for the price, and for what I intend to use it for, this was a great buy!

We got this tv during the black Friday sales. $999 for a 65'' HDTV isn't a bad deal, and for a quality brand like Samsung no less. The picture quality overall is totally satisfying, and there are plenty of settings to tweak to get it looking just right to you. One issue I have noticed is slight vertical banding, but apparently this can happen with any lcd/led and plasma tv, and it only really noticeable during panning shots. The other downside is a lack of inputs in the back. A pc input, or a usb that could read data would be nice. Overall we are very happy with our new large tv!
