Why aren't all TV's made like this?

I bought the Frame to replace an older (not smart) plasma TV and Gen 2 Apple TV. The plasma TV was mounted on my ventless, ethanol fireplace and connected to a sound bar. The Apple TV and cable box were tucked away in the mantel, and I used a Logitech Harmony hub to control them. The setup worked okay, but I didn't have 4K, the cables for the TV and sound bar were visible around the fireplace, the Logitech control of everything was a little clunky, and the overall look of the TV mounted to the fireplace wasn't as clean and art-like as I wanted it to be. Mounting the TV was actually pretty straightforward. The included no-gap wall mount works as advertised, and the 55" and 65" models have the ability to be adjusted slightly once mounted to ensure a level mount. The one connect cable easily passed through the channel that I had built into the fireplace, so no cables are visible at all. The result is a great looking setup that really does look like a picture frame. It really makes you wonder why this form factor isn't the standard. We put the One Connect box in the mantel with the cable box and removed the Apple TV since the Frame includes the AppleTV app. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the cable box can be controlled through the OneConnect box, even though both are hidden in the mantel. This allowed me to remove the Logitech Harmony hub and remove another source of complexity from the setup! The only other connections that we use are HDMI from a DVD player and the HDMI ARC to a new Samsung HW-950N soundbar. The TV and soundbar recognized each other immediately and control of the sound has been seamless. I was concerned that navigation with the Samsung OS would be difficult, but I've found it to be really intuitive. We have TCL Roku TVs in other rooms that were purchased primarily because the Roku interface makes navigating between navigation between input sources and other controls easy. I've found that navigating on the Samsung Frame is at least as simple. The picture quality is fantastic. I'm pretty happy with the art mode, although the motion sensing feature doesn't seem to be working as advertised. It doesn't seem to recognize when I walk into the room, although this may be due to the layout of the space. I was able to add some photos from my collection to art mode. Their art store has a lot of options, but navigation and search features could be better. Hopefully this technology will expand and we'll be able to get a broader selection of art.

I had done the research on this television and seen it at a friend’s house so I already had high expectations. But, the television has exceeded those and the art mode is better than I expected Additionally the art mode has been a bonus surprise in that it has introduced me to famous art pieces that I’ve never seen before It’s almost like you can create a revolving gallery in your own home Friends come into our living space and don’t know there’s a television until I tell them Oh yeah, the television picture is great too

Purchased this television based on the Art Mode and no gap wall mount that comes with it. I highly recommend spending the additional $5 per month for the subscription to view other piece of art available.

The perfect TV for a huge blank wall. It's truly a beautiful piece of art. I am thrilled with it and get a lot of compliments on it. People are shocked to find out it's actually a TV and not a painting on the wall.

This 4K TV looks amazing on the wall with the no-gap mount. Nothing looks more like a picture than this TV. When you walk in the room, you can't see any of the hardware such as TV mounts or wires like other TV's. The picture is top-notch as well.

LOVE this tv. It has many art pieces to pick from or you can add your own. Looks gorgeous in my living room. Displays the art when someone walks in the room. The cord is almost transparent. Has all my apps on it. Easy to use.

I bought this TV in 2020. Wanted art to display on my fireplace wall. It exceeded my expectations. I displayed mostly pictures I took then cut and cropped them. Although some reviews complained of a weak speaker I never had that problem. Didn’t find it any different than any other TV. It was easy to hook up a Sonos system to it via the Frame Box if surround sound is what you are looking for. I especially love the motion sensor option. My Art would come on when it sensed motion and turn off 15 minutes after no motion is detected. Switching to TV was the press of a button. Highly recommend this TV if you want your TV to be art when not in use as a TV.

This review will not be full of technical jargon and specifications. It's a great 4K TV. It does what a 4K TV is supposed to do. I haven't noticed and white "bloom" or splotchy blacks. Colors seem true and pure. The majority of our TV watching isn't very demanding (HGTV, History, etc), but it does perform well when tested against UHD content. The only negative, which really isn't much, is that I find myself constantly changing the picture mode, depending on what I'm watching. There doesn't seem to be one setting that looks great across all content. Dynamic may look great on one show, then the next show comes on and it's way too loud. And speaking of loud, I can't really rate the built-in speakers. I run everything through a surround system, all the time. I haven't heard a TV speaker in 15 years or more. The One Connect box does its job well. Just make sure you have somewhere to stow it. The plastic connector housing for the end of the One Connect cable that plugs into the TV fell apart when I attempted to plug it in, but thankfully I was able to snap it back together. It didn't lose any functionality. Overall, it's a great TV for our purposes. It's a bit disappointing when parts of the new $2000 TV you just bought fall apart, but no technical support was required, so it's all good.

The 4K TV provides good quality picture, even at 65". It's unique in that it mounts flat against the wall and features an art mode to make it look like a painting on the wall. The included art is a bit limited and I don't want to fork out money for additional art, but you can upload your own photos onto the TV and use that. It seems to add an effect if the picture doesn't fill the entire screen to make it look like the picture is framed in glass with a white backing. The box it uses for all of the connections was a bit bulkier than I expected, but I have a good place for it so it makes little difference. The single cord that runs from the TV is minimal and hidden behind other items, so I haven't bothered to hide the cord in the wall or anything. I would say it wouldn't be difficult to run it through the wall if I really wanted to. Overall pleased with the product.

Five years ago, we chose to place no TV in our open floor plan main floor - we could not use it for parties, and did not want a big piece of electronics hanging four to six inches off the wall. We Googled "thinnest TV's". Some super high priced - almost plate glass thin - TV's came up, but then this Samsung "The Frame" TV came up and caught our eye. Three years ago, Samsung started selling this unique @ 2.5 in. thick TV, with it's own (included) @ 3/4 in. thick custom fixed wall mount. The best surprising and unique feature of the TV, we learned I'm our search, is that one of this TV's easy controls is why is called "The Frame" - we can select from 30 included artworks, our own digital pictures, or minimal cost (@$4.99/mo.) additional wide selections of art. Any one we choose acts as a pleasant "screen saver" when we have gatherings and TV sound would be annoying, and a bulkier TV and standard wall mount would be far less pleasant than the "Homegoods" wall art we had before. Best Buy had a more than competitive price, the store person was helpful and super patient with us, and the installation by their "Geek Squad" was an excellent choice. Oh, unique #3, only one thing fiber optic cable runs from bottom of the TV, up to 15 feet away to a shoe box size Samsung "Magic Box" that any cable, USB, HDMI, etc. plug into. The very thin fiber optic carries power and digital content to the TV in a sort of silver wire thinner than half of a standard TV power cord. The fiber optic is not to be bent or curved to tightly, or it could be damaged - it is over $100 to replace, so securing it in a sturdy painted wire channel (or something) is advised. We are very pleased with Best Buy and Samsung's "The Frame" TV.

The trade off is art mode with the flat panel wall mount for the higher definition next model up. I'm glad I chose this television. The picture is great. The wall mount was easy to install (it swivels so leveling is not a problem). And, I just like art mode. It creates a nice accent on the wall. The one wire power, sound, and video saves a bunch of space and hassle - why don't all televisions use it?

I have a 55 inch (2018) and 65 inch (2019) of The Frame TV. The smaller one in the M. Bedroom and the bigger in the L.R. Two main reasons why I chose this TV was the art frame look on the wall and the "One Connect Box". Most people talk about the art feature (which I like too) but the deal maker for me was being able to install it flush on the wall without ever having to pull it out again to connect my device cables behind the TV because all the cables including the power cord can be plugged in wherever I decide to put the box. This is very convenient and makes hiding all the cables and power cord a much easier job to do. I installed the box behind the wall where the TV hangs in a little closet space. I’m happy with all the set up and the quality of the TV. The only problem is that The Frame which is supposed to look like an art frame is not quite complete without the bezel frame which they sell separately. It wouldn’t be so bad if the bezel is prized reasonably but $200 for the 55 inch and $250 for the 65 inch is just hard to justify. So, for now I have 2 nice TV’s in my house that I’m almost satisfied with if not for the missing bezel frames which is annoying. For that, I’d give it a 4 star instead of 5.

Great picture. Easy to use remote. User interface extremely easy to use. The tv itself hangs real close to the wall. Wife and I love it! Furthermore, since it has apps for Apple TV, Netflix, and YouTube TV, we no longer need other devices such as Apple TV and NVDIA Shield.
