Excellent TV. Takes Some Work To Set Up Properly

The TV has amazing picture quality, and some great features, but it took a while to get set up properly. First off, it forces you to use the Smart Hub app just to use your TV. There might be a way to bypass that, but I could not find it. So, I spent 20 mins setting up this app, that I will never use, when all I needed to do was input my WiFi info. After that, it would do this annoying thing where it would always start at the home menu, and force me to select the desired input. To fix this, hit the Settings button on the remote, then select All Settings, scroll down to Advanced Features and select Start Screen Option. Then disable Start with Smart Hub Home. Now, it will simply stay on the previous input like a normal TV. Then there was this annoying popup I kept getting, nudging me to use the AI features. This continued to happen even after disabling all notifications. To get rid of this, just press the AI button on the remote and set it up. I used Bixby. I never plan on using that feature but it got rid of the annoying popup. Picture settings were pretty straight forward. I put it in Filmmaker Mode. Also, I disabled Brightness Optimization under the Power and Energy Saving settings. Once set up, this is an excellent TV at a great price. 65" is the perfect size for my room. The OLED reminds me more of plasma picture quality without the same drawbacks. Super thin and lightweight compared to plasmas and even other LEDs. No annoying buzzing noises that plasmas were prone to. So, OLED makes a great bedroom TV. Also, it has AirPlay built-in (not mentioned on the product page of Best Buy or Samsung) which works great. Also, the built-in Bluetooth feature works excellent for Bluetooth headphones.

This is the 65-inch Samsung to buy now!

It’s been 16 years since I bought our first flat screen TV, a 46-inch Samsung model. After that long in use, I figured it would have died by now but alas it’s still working just fine. Despite the old set still functioning well, falling prices and larger screen options prompted my decision to buy a replacement. Initially, I considered a 60-inch TV but discovered that size was no longer available, so I settled instead on a 65-inch Samsung, now the most popular size for medium living rooms. After researching reviews, Consumer Reports ratings, and visiting Best Buy, I stuck with Samsung over alternatives like LG, Hisense, or Vizio. My choice was influenced by years of positive experience with Samsung phones and the desire for seamless connectivity. Among Samsung’s 2025 offerings, the OLED Q models 7F and 8F were considered, priced at $500 and $700 respectively, but ultimately the S84F model was the one I selected. It was on sale for $899 at Best Buy, with free delivery included. Best Buy was chosen for its one-stop convenience, offering installation by Geek Squad ($179), a two-year protection plan ($99), and haul-away service ($49). The purchase was finalized on December 1, with installation scheduled for December 9. I've never utilized Best Buy’s Geek Squad before so I was a bit apprehensive about installation. However, come installation day, Geek Squad arrived early, removed the old TV, and installed a new wall mount certified for larger screens. Both guys were courteous and the older one made careful measurements to ensure the set was centered on the wall and cleared holiday decorations on top of the entertainment cabinet. Once mounted, the new TV impressed everyone with its size and clarity. Not to mention how thin these new sets are - truly incredible! I decided to pass on my old Samsung to a friend, so the haul-away service was cancelled. Afterwards, the crew hauled off all trash and were on their way to the next customer. This Samsung S84F TV offers numerous modern features: automatic channel scanning, Samsung Plus with tons of free channels, and a compact, solar charge capable remote. Streaming apps like Netflix, Prime Video, and YouTube came preloaded. Connectivity was straight-forward—casting videos from my Galaxy A54 phone worked seamlessly, and linking to my Windows 11 PC via Samsung's Easy on TV app allowed direct viewing of photos and videos. All I need now is to add a Bluetooth mini keyboard and mouse to operate the TV comfortably from a recliner. UPDATE: I’ve had the TV for a few weeks now and getting used to the features and functions. It has a built-in memo board screensaver that displays once you get near the TV. To connect my cable box all I had to do was punch in my zip code and lets me pick who my provider is. I also plugged in a 4K Firestick and it found it automatically. The sound is fantastic, especially once I turn on my Denon receiver – so glad this TV had an optical cable port. Overall, I love this TV and I hope this set lasts as long as my last one.

I bought this Samsung OLED TV and it honestly exceeded my expectations. The colors look incredibly vibrant and sharp, with a quality that stands out even in very dark or very bright scenes. The deep blacks and strong contrast make everything look much more realistic. Overall, my experience has been very good. The picture quality is excellent, the interface runs smoothly, and the performance has been great from day one. I definitely recommend it.

This is the 3rd OLED panel I've purchased. My first a 65" LG OLED C2 - I bought this Samsung thinking it would be my second TV but it's actually better than my C2 so the C2 is relegated to gaming room. I was a little nervous after reading the review that it might be too dim or the remote would be garbage - and the remote is garbage but it gets the job done. I don't have any issues with glare and this is mounted on my living room with plenty on natural and recessed lighting. I recommend this TV for anytime. OLED is still overpriced but it's also the best picture. If you're thinking about buying your first OLED this is a great one. I'm still shocked that this TV looks better then my LG. Fast processor. Links with Samsung phones. Samsung sound bars obviously. Would buy another. I do recommend this TV to family and friends.

    Immaculate Contrast

This TV has been excellent! The True Black has been great so far, all movies are showing up vibrantly and with great contrast. The resolution obviously doesn't change, but images seem to pop off the screen because of the contrast. All night and space scenes look immaculate, especially if you keep your room dark. A very noticeable difference is during transitions where the screen goes black. I never gave those transitions thought before, but now that the room goes pitch black (since the tv essentially turns itself off) those scenes really stand out and add to the experience. I got this on Black Friday 2025 for $900 ($1100 off of $2000 MSRP). Absolutely worth $900 for an "entry level" OLED. My friends and family have nicer OLEDs (better motion processors), and the difference is negligible so far. Great choice, especially if you're just getting into OLED and want something cheaper! Extra: Cat pounces on this TV, did not do so with regular 4K LCD. Not sure if that's a common thing, but nervous he may scratch screen!

I’ve only had the new TV for a month, but wow, what an upgrade from my 11-year-old 55” Samsung. Thankfully, the wall mount I already had was compatible with the larger screen, so installation was easy. And it is lighter than the previous unit, so my wife and I got it mounted without any struggle. The colors are fantastic, the sharpness is eye popping, and the blacks are so much deeper. Best upgrade to my basement cave ever.

So far so good. Great picture. Great price. Easy set up except for trying to connect to WiFi. We had to go online to find a solution. Had to use a generic IP address or something like that. Navigating the tv is intuitive. Everything connected works perfectly. Adjusting the picture to my OCD liking was super easy. The blacks are really black. Not sure it was ever a $2000 TV but for $899 I feel like a winner.

I couldn't be happier with this TV. We replaced our 55" Samsung LED and soundbar system with this big, beautiful 65" OLED and spiced it up with a HWQ600F sound bar system and sprinkled in the SWA9250S rear speaker kit, turned on Q-Symphony - the result is a set-up that rivals the movie theater. Also great for gaming on PS5 and Xbox Series X. But you don't even really need a console, with the built-in game app. There are lots of setting to play with: display, sound, and AI. Use Bixby or link it Amazon Alexa, and tell the TV what to do; it's fun to experiment with voice commands. The remote is minimalist which is nice, and it is solar powered so no worry about batteries going flat. The TV has a narrow and a wide anchor point for the stand legs, which is convenient. OS is fast, lots of apps to choose from. Summing up, this is a phenomenal TV with a host of options to play with, highly recommended!

We upgraded from a 14 year old Samsung 3D TV that was still going strong but only 1080P resolution. The S84F is brighter so much easier viewing during daylight hours in our family room. The HDR10 color pallette is rich and makes that content look amazing. We run our signal through a Denon receiver that supplies our 5:1 speakers with immersive surround sound. While Samsung includes a very capable selection of the major streaming apps we chose to feed the tv from an Amazon Fire Cube that offers voice control from any of our Amazon Alexa devices or via the Cube remote. Just pushing the On/Off button on the Cube controll will turn the TV and reciever on/off; also eliminates the need for using the Samsung remote.

Samsung TV’s have never let me down and the entry level s84f OLED is no exception. It has the same QD-OLED panel as the s85f and once you tweak the picture settings this set is absolutely stunning. I switch between filmmaker mode and AI optimized. Playing PS5 Pro is an absolute blast and Game Mode is optimized well. Tizen OS needs some work but with a few changes it runs fairly well. For the price you just cant beat it.

Great TV so far! I play a lot of console games and did a lot of research on what TV would be best for our living room that didn't also cost an arm and a leg, and this is it! Bought this TV a couple of months ago and the color and picture looks great, no issues with not being able to see properly in the light of day. Even with curtains open, there's barely a reflection of the lit up walls/furniture behind you. Gaming mode also cuts lag time down to essentially zero. The ability to control the TV from an app on your phone has been especially handy when the remote gets lost in the underworld of the cracks between couch cushions.

Amazing Tv. I’ve never had such a nice screen before. You can hear everything with this tv and the images look like you are right there, in the show!!! This is the best money that we’ve ever spent on our tv and we don’t see ever going back. The colors pop, the voices are pristine and the brilliance of it is amazing.
