Best TV I’ve Ever Owned – Totally Worth It!

I usually dont leave reviews but this TV deserves one. I got the Samsung S90D 65” OLED a few weeks ago and honestly, it’s amazing. The picture looks sooo good, like the colors are super vibrant, not grayish like my old tv. I didn’t think I’d notice much of a difference but the quality is crazy, especially when watching 4K movies or playing games. It’s really smooth too, no lag or weird motion blur. Sound is pretty solid too, not crazy loud but clear enough for everyday watching. I recommend a great soundbar to enhance your TV sound. Besides that , The smart features are cool and it has all the apps I use already. Setup was pretty easy and the tv itself looks really clean and modern in my house. I’m honestly really happy with it and would def recommend if you’re looking for a high quality oled TV. This TV feels like something outta the future. Worth every dollar ! Best purchase I’ve made this entire decade of the 2020s . Thank you Samsung and Best Buy !

S90D OLED is a Great Buy for the Novice

The Samsung 65" S90D OLED TV has an amazing picture and sound. From the moment you turn it on, the vibrant colors and deep, true blacks make it clear this is a premium display. The OLED panel delivers incredible contrast and clarity, making everything from action movies to nature documentaries look jaw-droppingly good. HDR content in particular pops beautifully, with highlights that are bright but never harsh.
Design-wise, the S90D is sleek and minimalist, with an ultra-thin profile that looks great on the stand. I tried to put it won the wall, but the nook is too small, which is fine. Sound quality is solid for a TV this thin, offering clear dialogue and decent bass, but pairing it with a good soundbar would really complete the setup.
Pros:
• Stunning OLED picture quality with deep blacks and vivid colors
• Smooth, easy-to-use solar powered remote control
• Beautiful minimalist design
Cons:
• Premium price point (but worth it for what you get)
• Sound is great, but was unable to hook it up to my Denon receiver (Probably operator error, but listed as a con since it wasn’t easy)

The Samsung S90D 65” 4K QD-OLED is awesome! TV was delivered for free which is really convenient. Openning the box was simple, setting it up is quick but do have someone to help carry it. It’s incredibly thin! I used the stand that came with and it does come with some parts for the back of the tv to set up a wall mount if you plan on doing that. Picture quality is beautiful. The brightness is really good too, even in game mode which was said to not be as bright. It does lower the brightness a bit but nothing bothersome. I do prefer LG’s OS a lot more than Samsung’s Tizen OS. There is more simplicity on LG’s compared to Tizen. But there’s useful featatures to make it less inconvenient. TV can go up to 144hz with VRR. When the TV is off, the screen has a magenta color to it which is how QD-OLED TVs are. I read that you only get a QD-OLED panel if it is 65” or larger; the smaller sizes appear to be WOLED. That is 55” and smaller so do take that into account! I was able to get my 65” at a great price! I’m using it because I got the Switch 2 and take advatage of the higher refresh rates and great picture quality.

We purchased our new tv one month ago, and the Geek Squad delivered it, then swapped our current television from the great room and wall mounted it in our office. The entire transaction was fast and efficient, and we were extremely pleased with the service!
This television is the best that we have owned in our over 50-year marriage...and we have Samsung tvs in all of our public spaces, bedrooms and even on our lanai. We love them, and wanted to try an OLED in our main viewing area. The picture is amazingly bright, colorful and clear with no glare! We are thoroughly enjoying watching movies and streaming on this tv. The first picture shows the brilliant white and vivid colors, and the second picture shows how amazingly thin the screen is (the bottom, thicker portion is the stand).

I LOVE this TV!!! The vivid color, deep black makes the items pop. No glare. I am able to sit anywhere in the room and get a great view.
Currently we have it on a 48" TV stand until we figure out our permanent placement. We sit 7' away. Its located at eye level. I researched TVs for a year waiting for the price to go down. I'm so glad I purchased it when I did.
My suggestion, research what features are important to you. Visit the stores to compare in person. Measure several times your space for it. The apps and controller are very easy to use. Enjoy.

This display is superb. 10/10 for image quality in both movies and games. Both SDR and HDR content looks consitantly amazing. The WOW factor cannot be overstated once the picture settings are dialed in. The lack of Dolby Vision is a non issue becouse this TV has fantastic peak brightness and color accuracy. The only minor critique is the clunky Tizen OS, which is servicable once you get used to it. Built in audio sounds really good compared to most displays. I recommend this set to anyone who is looking for a top-tier OLED experience. Its worth noting that only the 55” 65” and 77” use the QD-OLED panel type, which is superior to other panels in low ambient light conditions.

This is actually my second purchase of the Samsung 65" Class S90D OLED 4K UHD Smart Tizen TV, and that alone should tell you how much I love it. The picture quality is phenomenal — deep blacks, vibrant colors, and crisp detail that makes everything from movies to sports look stunning.
The Smart Tizen interface is smooth and intuitive, and the performance is consistently fast. I’ve had zero issues with the first one, which made it an easy decision to buy another for a different room.
Highly recommend to anyone considering an OLED upgrade!

I really wanted to love this TV. My last TV was great, but when I moved, the movers broke it. They did nothing to resolve this issue, so I decided to buy a new one. They didn't have the same one for sale anymore, so I had to get something else. I read reviews, compared TVs, went to the store to see it in person and finally decided this was the one I wanted.
Problem #1 - The user interface is horrible. Maybe I'm not use to it, but the TV and the remote feel like they are on different wave lengths. Lags.
Problem #2 - Whatever streaming service I use, the TV has a lag on picture quality. It takes more than 5 seconds to clear up on Netflix. It also has skipped or stopped when watching a show. It lags.
Problem #3 - The remote. Not a fan.
Problem #4 - The sound is weird. If the house is loud, the volume will automatically get louder. I have looked at videos and tried adjusting sound settings and I have no idea how to stop this from happening. It absolutely drives me insane.
Problem #5 - I wanted to mount this TV, but I am unsure how to because it only has two holes, instead of the required 4. I honestly don't like the stand it comes with. I am only one person and I had a hard time putting this up on my TV stand as-is. It's also VERY thin. I'm very nervous to move it.
Problem #6 - I hate the screensaver. If you pause a video or movie, the screensaver comes on after 5 seconds. I'm not sure how to turn this off, either.
Problem #7 - I guess not really a problem, but a personal preference, but the screen has an orange tint when off. Everything in my house is black, so I expected the TV to be, too. Unfortunately, it throws off my entire aesthetic.
Pros - Once the picture clears, it is good quality. The blacks are black! The sound is fine if there aren't any distracting noises for it to pickup. It's the perfect size for my TV stand.
I've had it for 4 months now and for the price, I expected more. I'm just overall disappointed that I spent $1500 on a TV that doesn't do what it is suppose to do - work.
I give it 3 stars because I like the picture quality. Minus one for functionality / user display issues. Minus another for the price.

Brand response from Samsung

Abcdefghijklmnop,
We appreciate you sharing your user experience. To assist in learning the various functions, please know you can download the S90D TV's User Manual, e-Manual, Remote Control Leaflet, and Quick Setup Guide on Samsung's website under Support > Manuals & Software > TVs & Home Theater. You can search for and select the S90D TV to download the guides you would like.
The e-Manual and Remote Guide are both also embedded into your TV itself under Menu > Settings > Support > Open e-Manual.
Please try the following which may help resolve volume fluctuations:
1. Turn off the Sound Sensor switch by using the button at the bottom of the TV, beneath the Samsung logo. With the TV on, you can push the button to the left to turn the sound sensor on or to the right to turn it off. 2. Try disabling some of the TV's intelligent functions, as these will automatically analyze and adjust your sound which may cause your volume to fluctuate. Go to Settings > All Settings > General & Privacy > Intelligent Mode Settings and select Intelligent Mode to turn off all the functions or select each option to turn it off. 3. Please also make sure your TV’s firmware is updated. You can check this by going to: Menu > Settings > Support > Software Update.
Lastly, you may also want to further optimize performance with the self-diagnostic tool, which checks memory, frees up unused cached memory, and closes background apps. Go to: Home > Menu > Settings > Support > Device Care > Start Device Care
I hope these tips help. You can always contact us for further help at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8AM - 12AM EST, 7 days a week. Our LiveChat agents are also available by clicking on the ‘Support’ link on our website.

Love this TV! Picture quality fantastic. Sound quality fantastic. Super thin and lightweight. Samsung channels pleasant surprise. The only issue I have with it is watching sports, specifically basketball. Too much blurring during all the action. I tweaked several settings to clear things up, but nothing worked. I was expecting crystal clear clarity like I have seen on so many other TV’s, but felt the S90D was a little disappointing in this regard. I also casted several bball games from my phone with mixed results on clarity. Could be WiFi signal, broadcast signal and other factors affecting this, but didn’t notice it on my other TV’s. Still, overall love the TV, wishing sports was a crisper experience. Not a deal breaker because everything else is fantastic. Plea to Samsung, work on the motion blurring issues with sports please.

I am very satisfied with this TV. I mostly watch live sports and movies. There is a notable difference when watching sports on cheaper tv's. When I watch sports at my friend's house, the picture quality is grainy, slower, and not as enjoyable. The difference is unquestionable. I also notice a difference particularly when watching horror movies with lots of dark scenes. Because each pixel can turn on or off, the result is true black, unlike a LCD TV which uses a backlight. I would absolutely recommend this TV to anyone who cares about their TV watching experience.

We are very pleased with the Samsung OLED tv. It was easy to set up and the color is excellent out of the box. Of course, we were not surprised since we have had Samsung televisions previously. I will say that the OLED has solved our glare problem from our wall of windows in the LR.

Cinematographer here from VE Videography located in Tennessee. I showcase my work at branding shows, weddings, etc., and wanted an OLED that would present the true high-quality of our films. The Samsung Class S90D series OLED is perfect! I had originally purchased a 75" but it was kind of overkill and difficult to move. The 65" fits well in my vehicle and is easier to manage, and does a great job showcasing our beautiful films to a room full of people. Whether you're streaming videos or hooking up via Blu-Ray (if you have one), they both do a great job.

Best TV I've ever owned.
I'd had high name brand TV's in the past and they usually sucked, but this thing ROCKS. I'd been buying TCL forever, but very happy with this thing.
No need for a soundbar, audio quality is excellent.
TV actually works for gaming from a PC (yes I AM crazy, what made you ask?) Absolutely 0 input lag when set on gaming mode and when pc resolution is set right.
I really like the auto dimming feature. I assume it's done to prevent burn in. TV also shifts around to prevent burn in occasionally. You can't tell unless you're looking for it. Really appreciate these features.
Menus can be a little confusing at first but once you get them it's fine. I do wish I could see all the inputs at all times regardless of what's connected or not though.
Screen is bright and vibrant. 120HZ is fantastic for gaming.
Screen in the image is set to 30/50 brightness and already dimming the iphone camera. You can see I like to relaxx :)

So good that I bought 2
My first 65'' Samsung S90D was to replace an old plasma in the family room, mostly to take advantage of a promo that I got when switching internet provider.
I was so impresed with the image quality, which was clearly better than my Sony A8H that I quickly put the A8H up for sale and replaced it with a second S90D.
I literally bougth 2 of these.
Highly recommended.
Note: I wanted to buy the 77'' version of the S90D, but after reading many reviews, it is clear that the 77'' has a faulty power source (unlike the 65'', which is fine)

Best TV ever. I used to have the LG OLED G2. But this Samsung S90d has raised the bar. I love watching my 4K blurays, and playing my PS5. When watching Blu-rays, the people look so real, as if they are in the room with me. You can even see evey detail, sweat and all. This was a great investment. Worth every dollar.
