I actually bought three sets of the samsung 13 cycle steam machines and a 3 matching gas steam dryer for my place and the two attached rentals of a triplex I mange. This review will be for both the washer and the dryer. Mine are set up side by side and the neighbors are stacked. That is a bonus not all front loaders can be stacked. I replaced Maytag Neptunes that were maybe 15 years old and I would work on myself. I like the larger capacity of the newer HE front loaders such as Samsung's. Im not sure all the hype but I went for the steam option for the washers and dryers. I haven't had them long enough to tell you that they wash better but I did a load of towels and used the steam functions and you know what, they seem softer, as though I'd used softener which I didn't. I got a geed deal and many discounts for having made such a large purchase during the labor day sale otherwise I would have gotten less expensive HE machines. It was a hard call for my unit (with side by side installation) weather to get an HE top or front loader. I'm pretty sure the front loaders that are HE still use far less water than the best top loaders. Samsungs unit with the built in sink was appealing though. Potential Peeves......the doors don't open all the way, it doesn't hinder my where I have them and certainly would not in a closet install, but it could. as in all front loaders you either have to stoop to load switch and fetch your longer or purchase WAY OVERPRICED pedestals. put unless you are in the NBA then you loose your upper folding area. If you know you want them elevated consider the GE right height front loaders. they are excellent but honestly i should reviews things 3-10 years from now. I hope the seals (door gaskets) will not mold or stink like most come to. I can not tell you if they will be super dependable since I can not see into the future. I purchased 5 year extended warantees so I guess i wont be working on them myself for a while. I gave 5 stars instead of 4 stars because 4 stars was "good" These are very good, perhaps the best? time will tell. They have a lot of bells and whistles, and that can mean more to go wrong. I feel I made the right choice for my situation. Samsung has become the maker of very dependable products. I do like that Maytag is still made in the USA ( I think) I probably should have considered them more. I considered the Kenmore Elite HE laundry center for the units, they fit perfectly in a closet and it is very easy to swith the load from the top load bottom up to the upper dryer. These are also tried and true designs that are easy to work on. I would like to see a machine that picks up my laundry from the floor and puts it in the machine switches it folds it puts it away and dresses me in the Morning, now That would be 5 star. I would have gone for an All-In-One aka combo washer dryer (one machine) like the LG 4.3 cubic foot model, if anyone made one with gas dryer. so many places because of the price of real estate and rents we need every square inch. I know from experience the all in one units that are 110 not 220 do not dry well. Also gas is far more efficient (cheaper) than electric in a dryer. Only the sun is cheaper. Come on Samsung, It'll be a hit in cities! It would be nice not to switch from washer to dryer as Well. as you can see I knew i wanted High Efficiency, I also wanted low water consumption....hello drought in CA....I have come to learn they are not the same and wish they would mark the machines which are water savers. I'll be getting 100 bucks back for each washer from my city utilities, that is nice. Remember one of the best things about front loaders and other HE machines is that they extract so much water because the spin sooo freaking fast. That is were your real energy savings is. The more dry they come out of the washer the less dollars and energy is spent drying them . old top loaders werent electricity hogs as much as water wasters that poorly extracted water. It seems to be true that front loaders are easier on clothing, but I myself am not easy on clthing and dont have anything fancy. One thing i am not sure of yet......does the steam in the dryer make my clothes less wrinkle free. It makes sense, i used to spray a little h2o in my dryer if i hadnt remembered to fold things when warm and redry for a bit. I just havent noticed yet. Also remember do the largest loads your machines are capable of. less loads equals less energy and less work, duh.

We had always been completely impressed with our first Samsung front-load washer & dryer. When we decided that it was time to upgrade, we decided on Samsung, again!! This set has a nice large tub....well suited to a family of four with LOTS of laundry. The clothes come out clean and smelling great : ) We did pedestals with this set....love having the extra storage room and loading & unloading are much easier. The Merlot color was an "extra".......love that, too.

Dryer looks really nice and seems to do a good job of drying clothes and removing lint. Has a lot of options for different drying options but haven't tried them out yet to see how well they work.

This dryer is great. It drys clothes in much less time than a comparable electric model. One thing to keep in mind...if you're going to have Best Buy install this they will not hook up the gas line even if you purchase the gas line hookup kit (at least from the Lancaster, PA store). The installers arrived and said they could put it up on the pedestal and hook up the vent, but they wern't certified to install the gas line. Had to hire a plumber to come out and install it. Wish I would have known this when I placed the order online. Installer said it's a common problem with BestBuy.com orders

This dryer has met my needs so far. It senses the moisture and adjusts the time to what is needed and therefore saving time and energy. Very easy to operate and has a light inside the drum for when you are loading and unloading. The only problem I found is when I dried a king size comforter... somehow it took several tries to get it completely dry. It may have been how I used it (it was on the bedding setting), so this is why I gave it a 4 star rating instead of 5.

This thing has tons of features and definitely will save you money on your energy bill. The installers were very helpful too bad they can't install the gas line. I had to pay $200 to have it installed, but I like the product and so far after one month of use it's great. The wrinkle free and steam dryer is excellent. I recommend this Dryer and for the price.

So far, the purchase has improved our life exponentially: the clothes are dryer than they've ever been, there is awesome ringtomes informing our maid to come and collect the dryiest clothes we've ever had and the children are studying better and more helpful with their dry clothing.

I'm a new homeowner and was forced to buy a washer and dryer. My wife & I worked endlessly comparing prices at all of the appliance stores. We researched all of the reviews, discussion boards and ads to ensure that we were buying the best one for the price, size and at the best time. We got a really great deal at Best Buy especially when noting the comparisons to the salesman. He gave a better deal than the lowest one that we found at Sears and to top it off... we were able to get it in this beautiful merlot color. The size was right just for me & my wife. It has a lot of features and works great at cleaning the rough and tough as well as the fragile. We have had it for almost two months and use it at least once to twice a week and are extremely pleased. In fact, when a good friend of ours was looking to replace their washer and dryer, we were quick to recommend ours. Our good friend is quite happy with their washer and dryer as well.

This dryer is excellent. It dries clothing very quickly and even when I have dissimilar materials, they all come out dry. The steam cycle is supposed to eliminate static cling, buy my dryfit tech shirts are still staticy when done.

What really got me was the color. I thought the merlot color was amazing. Even though I had to mix and match it with the onyx washer was really cool. The onyx dryer wasn't available. The drying rack was also a plus for me too.

It works fine as a dryer but the steamer setting is pretty useless. The music it plays at the end of a cycle is ridiculous and unnecessary
