Start up and restarts are super fast compared to a traditional HDD. Games and software also load much faster. I know there are newer and faster SSD technologies out there, but you cannot use this drive and consider it "slow" unless you're moving some crazy amounts of data. Install is very simple. One thing that I never realized was how small these things are.
