Wanted to improve my ASUS ROG gaming laptop performance and this is a very cost effective way to do that. The downloadable drive software was easy to use and the installation was as easy as it gets. Has made my laptop work like new again.

Replaced my trashed hard-drive in an all-in-one pc with this SSD that I chose based on reviews only. It was a very good choice. It's much faster than I expected and was a breeze to install and set up. Excellent product, great value.

This is one of the best and fastest SSD on the market, add to it a price under $100 and it's a steal! If you can get this under $90 it's a great buy, less $$ spent would be better yet everyone with a computer should be using a SSD for at least their boot (OS) drive.

I have been using Samsung SSD drives since they came out. I would say the EVO 860 series is one of the most reliable, high performing models I have used. I say this based on over 250 machine upgrades as of the date writing this. Furthermore it should be mentioned the Samsung line of SSDs are based on TLC (triple layer cell) technology which provides great capacity and speed for the price. This compounded with the fact this drive has read speeds of 550 MB/s and write speeds of 520 MB/s which makes it a really fast SSD for the price. Oh, also the Samsung SSDs comes with Samsung Magician which helps users manage drive health, speed and security all from on application. This is a great buy at BestBuy. Highly recommended product.

Samsung SSDs are some of the best in the industry, I have had this now for over a year and have used it daily without any issues. Installing it into my machine was easy, Windows 10 detected it without any problems, and files transfers/storage are fast and reliable.

Good drive, but samsung tax may not be worth it if you understand the internals for drives. You can easily google what tech is in every SSD and get a good understanding of what you're buying. If you compare to more affordable drives (no samsung tax) you can see that other drives perform the same, a little worse, or better, than overpriced samsung drives. I'm not saying this is a bad drive.. the 860 evo is a great drive and when it's on sale, it's pretty good price/performance. If you want a piece-of-mind due to the samsung 'brand'.. if you're easily subjected to brand products, get the smsung SSD. I own many cheaper drives and they perform basically the same for actual everyday usage.

I was so impressed with how much faster my laptop was when I replaced its hard drive with this SSD that I ended up doing the same thing for my wife's laptop and my brother's laptop and my gaming laptops. The PCs now are so much faster both at start up and at file reading and writing. I was considering replacing my older laptops but replacing the hard drive with this SSD has made them usable once again. In the past I would go to task manager and watch my Hard Drive sit a 100% while my laptop barely crawled along. Now with the new SSD I never have that problem. Install this drive is simple. Be sure to order a usb to Sata drive cable and watch the videos on you tube. Download Samsung's Migration software to clone your existing drive. Then be sure to install the Samsung Magician software to help manage the SSD.

The Samsung - 860 EVO 500GB Internal SATA Solid State Drive for Laptops was easy to install. Migrating my data using Samsung Migration software was simple and worked on the 1st try. The drive has ridiculously read and write speeds. It gave my old laptop new life.

Very fast SSD compared to the older mechanical drives. Easy to install. Fits in the same slot but thin enough 2 can fit in the same space. Computer loads up very fast.

Whether you want to upgrade a laptop or add one of these to a desktop as the system disk, you can’t go wrong with this. Big enough for most needs, great value for money. Breathe life into an old computer today!

I needed this to replace an older 250GB SSD C-drive in my desktop computer. Installation was straight forward, and it took the cloning process without a problem. I have been using it now for several months, and it functions flawlessly.

after upgrading to a solid state drive my boot up times are down to 15-20 seconds...and with this 500 GB Samsung I have plenty of space to grow my OS & Apps. No moving parts like the old spinning disk drives - much faster and dependable.

I own quite a few of these and I have always found them fast, reliable and reasonable in cost. I use them mostly for boot drives and have not had any failures yet. Installation is about like a hard disk and I recommend them to anyone.

Great price, easy to install, and plenty of space . The replacement drive is smaller than the OEM,(1tb), but decided for me, this was the best choice. This was highly recommended to me, and I would recommend it to others.

I got two of these for $105.99 each after having Best Buy price match with Microcenter (they initially told me they don't price match with that store but after asking for a manager, they magically did). What a great deal considering the last time I bought one of these (the 850 Evo), I paid $140. Anyway, this is the perfect drive for storing games, photos, videos, operating systems, anything you want to access FAST. Also, Samsung improved the warranty on these over the previous 850 Evo- still 5 years but now double the TBW (terabytes written) to 300 instead of 150, meaning, apparently, that these drives are more reliable than the previous iteration.

Nice SSD after I cloned the drive properly. First, this drive is fast, 550 mb read/ 531 write in benchmark testing, not bad, I tried two different cloning options to move data from my 1 tb hard drive. Should have started with Samsung Migration software. It did not come with the SSD. I had to download it online, there was no charge, but was expecting it in the package. Not a big deal really. The transfer took 30 minutes to transfer 150 gb of data. Drive booted up smooth and easy after replacing the old hard drive in my case. I bought a usb enclosure to clone the drive and it worked perfectly. I am glad I did. I plan to use it in the future. Overall I am very happy with my new Samsung SSD. My computer was fast before and it is even faster now and hopefully will last a few more years with this drive,

Pros: Performance is well worth the dough, especially on sale! Plugged in the SATA III cable, navigated the Samsung website to download Magician cloning software, and after 30min 35 secs; done AND done! Cons: As complained about with others, brackets/screws needed for COMPLETE satisfaction. Other Thoughts: I saw in various other reviews that "Magician software is useless, doesn't clone right, yada yada yada...". Spent the first half hour @ "0% progress". Scratched my head, cursed a little; then thought about logging on SEPARATELY in 'administrator' account (Windows 7 HOME). Boom!!! From START to REBOOT YOUR COMPUTER TO COMPLETE CLONING=30 mins 35 secs. And then F12 to boot menu, and once new SSD is selected, C: DRIVE is switched. Nearly as easy as installing RAM stix.

I purchased this hard drive for my Dell G7, so that I could have more blazing fast storage. This thing does not disappoint! I have been more than satisfied with the speeds, reliability, and price point of this drive.

Fast drive. Reasonably priced. Never had one fail. We have used these drives in various sizes for the last couple of years. Very good product. Even better now that prices are coming down.
