This is the 4thSamsung 860Evo 599 GB hard drive I have purchased. I have replace my convention hard drives with these and they are excellent. They are faster than the conventional drives and are an ugrade to my older computers. They do boot up much faster and operate faster as well. I highly recommend them. Samsung's software that can be downloaded off the internet makes it easy to clone your current hard drive. I did have a computer with mirrored hard drives that I replaced with these, but because it was so much more techical, I had a professional IT person install them.

Easy install solves a myriad of problems; reads speed, internal heat, & loud mechanisms were now fast, cool and quiet. My laptop was even expected to last longer. Thnks Samsung.

You'll love the speed increase, though it's expensive than other brands, but it shows the best possible value out of it and it's much trustworthy!

Been using a few of these 860 EVO drives over the course of a year now (500gb and 1TB variants) with great performance and no reliability issues. Speed benchmarks consistently show it hitting advertised speeds, if not slightly above. I do use the Samsung Magician software however its not necessary if you prefer not to. It does help keep track of things like TBW and also monitors for firmware updates. Turning on RAPID mode (a type of RAM caching, so make sure your system has plenty of RAM if you want to use this) really increases the performance. Overall I usually go with Samsung drives, even if it means paying a little more.

I built a reliable gaming machine with sufficient space for my games. It loads fast. No need to spend extra on an M.2 MVNE drive when this does the same. I would buy it again.

Much faster than a standard HDD, good price for an SSD, and was easy to install. Also includes a link to software for copying the contents of another hard drive to the SSD.

I purchased and installed this Samsung 860 EVO yesterday into my laptop. I was able to migrate everything 100gb of data onto it in about 20 minutes. This is the first SSD I’ve ever owned and I am amazed at how fast this thing is. Windows boots up in 10 seconds flat. I’m on steam and playing a game in under a minute. Samsung has a free program called magician that lets you see how your ssd is performing. It’s pretty cool. I’m impressed! I can’t get over how fast and smooth everything loads with this ssd. If you’ve never had an ssd or looking to replace an aging ssd, I highly recommend this. It’s worth every penny

The Samsung 860 Evo SSD was easy to install in my new gaming rig. The data migration software was easy to follow and helped the install and setup. The Magician software helps to maintain your drive is very good. I have a 1TB HDD and now a have Samsung 500GB SSD to boot my system and store some Steam games for faster load times. You notice the difference right away. I will probably be getting a third M.2 for my workflow. The price is great right now for SSD's if your looking to up your PC's storage. I would recommend the Samsung Evo for the software that it comes with. Especially for someone like me that is learning.

This SSD drive was purchased for my now 8-year old HP laptop. Cloning to the new drive was easy. When I put this in my laptop to replace the older SATA (spinning) drive, the computer booted up faster than ever and has been working great with no issues. I cannot think of a better value for increasing a computer's performance. The Samsung EVO series has had a great reputation, and I bought this model by suggestion from my friend (who does a lot of computer building, upgrading, and repair work.

This drive served as a perfect replacement for my 500gb HDD. The drive was on the verge of failure and I was fortunate to be able to easily transfer the software from the old drive to this one utilizing the included Samsung Magician software. Besides being easy to install and launch, this drive cut my boot time to a little more than 20 seconds from almost a minute and a half. Read write times are dramatically improved and I am looking forward to and long and useful life for this five-year-old tablet/desktop.

The SSD was suggested by the Geek Squad as my computer was not performing up to par. They said it should be up to 5X faster. My computer is faster but probably 2-3 times faster. It better then before. It’s quieter and is not heating up as much. I think it uses less energy as I haven’t had to plug it in as often. One note, I’ve only had it one week.

Should have gotten one of these drives a long time ago. Easy to install and works very fast, and is quiet. Also can't beat Best Buy for help.

The 860 EVO is super fast. Cloning worked perfectly. Installation will vary per user, but it isn't hard. Turn on rapid mode in the Samsung Magician software, and your are ready to race. Changing a operating system drive to an SSD is the biggest performance boost that anyone will notice. This drive is one of the fastest on the market, and it has a 5 year warranty. Don't worry about saving a few dollars. This is the one to buy if you want easy cloning, speed during the life of the product, and a 5 year warranty. Read no further. This is the best bang for your buck!!! VROOOOOM!!!!

For just about any use, I'd recommend someone upgrade to a SSD. Boot times, game loading, application use, etc just is SO MUCH snappier. As of right now, Samsung is my favorite brand for SSDs (I have about 4 860 EVOs, and 2 860 Pros), and they all work great. The EVO is definitely great value, but if you are looking for production work, I'd recommend the Pro.

Bought one of these to stick in my Sony laptop that I wasn't ready to let go of yet. Really easy to install, just pull the old hard drive out and pop the ssd into its place. This thing made my laptop run faster than when I first bought it. Laptop took around 1:30 minutes to be able to click on Internet and it would function, now it takes about 30 seconds to be up and running and ready to use. If putting into laptop make sure to pick up a Sata to USB cable so that you can clone hard drive and then insert into computer.

I have a 2009 Macbook -- the white one. I had upgraded the RAM years ago from 4 to 8 GB, but the system was slowing down over the years and becoming unreliable. Back when these were made it was easy to replace and upgrade the internal components, so I knew I could upgrade the hard drive to SSD, it was a question of whether it was worth the cost. It definitely was. The machine works like it did 10 years ago with a quick start up speed. I'm thinking of getting more of these for other uses (XBox storage, home server, other home computers) in the near future.

To know how great this hard drive is, let's just say my bootup time took from a few mins to less than 30 seconds, which includes all the background applications. This is an incredibly fast hard drive which I never had to replace compared to other brands. Fastest way to get this up and going is to clone your current hard drive into this one, connect it and you're up in less than a min. Not only the bootup but you're whole PC experience will change dramatically. No more blue screens or waiting.
