Normally Id highly recommend Samsung SSDs but a drive that I recently purchased (I assume) was defective and caused a short or something leading to a SATA port, cable, and power cable being severely damaged. So as a result of this damage I’m too scared to damage anything else to recommend buying any of Samsungs SATA drives.

I purchased the Samsung 2TB SSD. I did it because my primary SSD (1/2TB) failed. The failed drive was not a Samsung. The Samsung drive was very competitively priced. While I was able to recover all the data from the old drive it was recommended by the mfg. that I not try to use it again. The Samsung drive came the day after I ordered it. As a Prime customer I didn't have to pay anything for next day shipping. As I was down I was glad to get the drive quickly. Since installing it it has functioned perfectly, and in testing performs exactly as the advertised specifications. I am very pleased with the drive. It is very fast and makes Windows perform very well. My system is Windows 10 64, I have 64GB if memory 4 8TB rotating drives in RAID configuration so that even though I have 24 TB of drive space I can only use 8TB but I can lose 2 of the rotating drives and still recover all my data. I highly recommend using an SSD as a system drive regardless of the OS you use, it will really speed up your system. This Samsung drive boots in a matter of only a few seconds, that is nice.
