Over the past year I've had a number of problems with several laptops I've had, these are Dell laptop computers, a number of Windows 11 and other software related issues mostly. But I had other problems that were hardware related. Noting that a SSD generally is more efficient and reliable than a typical SATA type internal drive, I elected to have the existing SATA drives removed and replaced with newer Samsung SSD drives, specifically 1 and 2 TB capacity drives. I just purchased my third Samsung SSD, this being a 2 TB capacity EVO 870. What I've noticed is a much faster boot time probably because there are no moving parts in a SSD type drive. Generic SSDs typically have no moving parts and information is saved onto integrated circuits (ICs). Although SSDs serve the same functions as regular hard drives that frequently come with desktop and/or laptop computers, their internal parts are different. SSDs store data using flash memory, allowing them to access data much faster than hard drives, thus a better boot time as well as accessing software. I prefer Samsung. The EVO 870 I purchased from Best Buy through the Geek Squad has a 560 MB & 530 MB read- Write speed, respectively, so PDQ speed for me. There is nothing wrong with WD (Western Digital) or other brands of hard drives, I've just always have excellent results with Samsung. According to Tech Radar, the 970 EVO series hold the top tiers for SSDs. I chose the 870 series because I have an older Dell Inspiron 3000 series 17 inch laptop and the 970 wouldn't work and its possible it would have required a heat sink. If you are considering a SSD for your desk top or laptop, go with the Samsung EVO series SSD. There is noting wrong with WD or Corsair or Kingston, I've just always had a preference with Samsung. If you are having various issues with your personal desktop or laptop, also consider getting the Best Buy Total Tech plan thru Geek Squad. It is well worth it. I'm somewhat computer savvy in some ways but not enough to figure out why something isn't working right or trying to replace something myself. I've had the Total Tech plan at Best Buy now for two years and it's well worth the investment. As many times over the past two years I've had electronics issues involving my computer, if I had had to pay EACH time I brought something in, with the money I would have had to fork out EACH time I did bring something in, I could have paid for the U.S. national debt. Best Buy has not paid me to say that, I'm just speaking from my past experience and the Geek Squad people at the Best Buy I frequent are top notch, reliable and expedient and explain things well and offer good advice without talking you into buying something you don't really need; they give you all the best options.

Excellent 2TB SSD. My computer used to take minutes to boot up and for apps to start working on my desktop. Now, I shut it down, turn it back on and can play YouTube videos in a matter of only about 30 seconds . It's super fast. I know that NVMe SSDs are faster, but those overheat in a lot of situations, this one is cooler but still fast. And it's not on your motherboard and doesn't need a heatsink. It's a good trade off imo. Also, this thing is super quiet and doesn't move around in your PC at all (no moving parts, duh!). Everything is faster (even transferring files) and quieter in my PC now. BIG THUMBS UP! I highly recommend this Samsung 870 EVO 2.5" SSD! Trust me, you won't regret buying it, I wish I had earlier.

This drive was purchased as an upgrade to a brand new computer that came with only one designated 1TB drive. I wanted a separate designated drive just for documents, videos, pictures, files. Geek squad installed it in the new computer so that it was setup from the get go. So far it's been working seamlessly with no problems

Such a small thing has so much room for storage. It was a little pricey, but it also was a massive step up from my 2- 500 GB HDD’s that I was currently utilizing. This Samsung 2TB SSD not only has more space, but clearly given me a leap in performance.

Always purchased Samsung SSDs for their reliability and hardware. For the prices of SSDs now, these are super affordable and make great storage for putting video, music, steam library. I have owned many Samsung SSDs in the past and have not yet once had one fail. I am using my Samsung 850 EVO 500gb currently for steam games and this drive as extra storage. My 850 EVO 500gb has 8.1TB written to it and its still going strong.

I had two old PCs that were running extremely slowly. Analysis using Windows task manager showed that the bottleneck was disk time. Both PCs were running with old hard drives. Swapping out the hard drives with this SSD drive substantially sped up the PCs. Disk time is no longer a bottleneck. Also the manufacturer supplies a utility that easily allows the user to clone the existing drive’s data onto the SSD.

I’ve been using Samsung SSD’s for quite some time and they rock. They have been the highest rated drives consistently and I’ve never had one fail in any of my music production (DAW) computers. Now that SSD drives are so cheap, why would anyone use anything else and as I mentioned, Samsung SSD’s are always rated at the top of class. No brainer.

Replaced all old spinning Hard Drives on my PS3, PS4, PS4 Pro, and Xbox One X. Since I own 2 Xbox Series X’s, I wanted all my hardware to be pristine/Up to date. Results are amazing, snappy OS, near to no lag, and Games just run smoother and better, worth every Penny to future proof my Gaming Console Library. Hopefully this helps someone for future reference.

When my old 1TB drive fried, I was sad but decided to start dating again. But this time, I needed an SSD with more depth, and one that I could live with for a long time. Very, very simple: open the box, plug it in, and it is recognized. Give it as a location for my OneDrive, and I am just fine. Works great.

I recently upgraded my laptop with a new SATA drive, and I'm thoroughly impressed by its performance compared to the previous model I had installed. The difference in speed and reliability is like night and day, making this upgrade well worth it. The new SATA drive significantly outperforms its predecessor in both read and write speeds. Applications load faster, and file transfers are much smoother and quicker. The drive's enhanced data transfer rate is evident when booting up the system or launching heavy software, which now happens almost instantaneously. The quality also seems to be better. The drive operates quietly, and its heat management is fantastic, maintaining optimal performance even during extended use. This durability is a big plus, indicating that the drive will last longer and be a reliable part of my system for years to come.

Easily one of the greatest SSD available. plenty of mounting option, decent price for a 2TB SATA drive, small enough to fit in my SFX Build, and read and write speeds are acceptable. M.2 drives are still king when it comes to speeds but when u need additional storage this is a great option when short on NVME drives.
