This is a dope piece of equipment. Super impressive how small and how light they’ve become! I attached a picture of the old one!

From long time ago, I trusted in Samsung quality for SSDs. I work as IT for a Computer Company, and the companies we work for, we highly recommend this kind of disks. Yes, all we know they are pricey compared with other brands but they are something to rely on. The one with grey Square is the Normal and the one with Red Square is the Pro Series...

Samsung makes great products and you can also install their SSD tool which is helpful. I have bought other brands in last few years but they all end up dead or corrupt.

Our computer is running slow so we got a new hard drive and it works really well. It was able to scan everything over from our previous drive without any issues or buying additional software

Be careful. Got a green WD 240gb used in a factory sealed box. I should have checked the packaging better. I used a box knife to open it. I should have check the taped seal a little better. Lol. I shall be going to the store for swap out. Best Buy has excellent CS. Nobody's fault except the theif.

Runs fast, cool and quiet (obviously but what else can you say about a SATA SSD? No issues so far.

I have installed two of these drives over the past couple months as I’ve been rebuilding computers for my family members. This is the second 870 that I have installed and it is way better than the previous generation 860. It is looking like these drives originally came out in January 2020 and putting them up against the 860EVO there is a marked difference in performance stability right speed and boot ups. I would recommend this drive to anyone looking to bring new life into an older machine.

nice, inexpensive option to add speed to your PC with an old rotational HDD. Easy to install, and the samsung tools make it super easy to transfer your OS and files from your old drive to the new one. Would recommend to those with lesser/lacking technological knowledge for that reason. These drives are fast given that they're SATA, and I've had zero issues over 3 years with my original 870 evo up until a few hiccups leading to a total failure in early November. Luckily I had preemptively created a drive image and had it ready to go when the last failed. I have no hesitations with using another new 870 EVO to replace the one prior that has failed, as I'm quite sure the failure was caused by recent power droops/spikes in the local power grid with our cold weather, as the drive had tested with 0 failed sectors the week prior to failure. If your motherboard doesnt support m.2 or PCIE ssd options, I'd recommend this to anyone looking to wake up an older PC with a new drive, or replace a recently failed SDD. With that said, I fully expected my 1tb WD Blue Sata SSD that was purchased at the same time to fail first as it's my game drive and is always virtually completely full, and gets used often, but it's still running strong after the EVO failed. If you possess the knowledge to do a complete drive transfer on your own, are willing to pay for file transfer services from a technician, or prefer to do a fresh OS install, I may be tempted to suggest a WD SSD over at least this model of Samsung SSD for that reason.

The Samsung SSD offers excellent performance. I purchased other brands from other companies. The Samsung SSD booted up the fastest - albeit by only a slight margin. I tested my laptop with three different SSDs - each with DRAM. The SK Hynix SSD and Crucial SSD both took 18 seconds for the laptop to boot up. The Samsung SSD took 17 seconds for the laptop to boot up. In the most technical sense the Samsung SSD offered the best performance. However, the Samsung SSD was the most expensive. At the time, I didn't mind because this was only a $5 difference for the 500GB versions of the SSD products. However, Samsung has significantly increased the prices of their SSDs since then - especially for the 1TB and 2TB versions. Other manufacturers did not raise prices in such a way. As a result, I would personally suggest buying the other brands. There is virtually no difference in performance.

I've been a user of WD SSD's for a while and lately they've been having lots of premature failures. I decided to switch to a different brand and have always had great success with Samsung and these are no exception. Fast, reliable and inexpensive. I can't ask for more.

I’ve had four of these so far and have zero complaints. They’re fast enough for my needs, inexpensive, and have always reliable SSD’s. Also if you’re looking to copy over from one hard drive to another, then Samsung migration software makes it super easy. And Samsung magician software is nice for monitoring the health and temperature of your SSD.

Samsung makes some of the best consumer level SSDs you can buy. This one is great. It's great to add additional storage to a computer or to upgrade from a spinning disk drive. Especially good value if you can catch it on sale.
