I installed the new memory which was very simple and now I have had no issues and all my gaming has improved tremendously. Excellent product and would recommend this to anyone needing memory.

This drive went on sale to about $399.99 and after using some BBY rewards points on it I was able to get it at a great value price. In terms of speed it is amazing, also replacing my mechanical drive has helped in terms of my PC weight and noise.

I have an older computer and did not have this. It will be the same requirement needed by the new Windows 11, fyi. I returned the 4tb and purchased the 2TB.

I really needed a large ssd drive for my 100+ Steam library and this drive is more than enough for just that. Highly recommended. Just install it, activate it, create new partition, done!

I currently use it with an m1 Mac Mini on macOS 11.2. Works flawlessly for loading virtual machines of Windows and gaming off of.

Sustained write speeds slower than HDD

The end result is that you'll see the rated >500 MB/sec write speeds for on the order of 2.5 minutes (75 GB) and then the speeds will plummet to around 160 MB/sec, which is slower than a 5 TB 7200 RPM HDD like the Toshiba HDWE150. It would take on the order of 7 hours to write this drive's full capacity, compared to around 2.2 hours for a typical SATA SSD. Sustained read speeds are the usual >500 MB/sec for SATA SSDs. Even if your use case is something like a steam drive where you'll never see this bottleneck since you'll never hit peak write speeds, this drive is probably a mediocre value at best; a better value would be e.g. the Crucial MX500 line, which is cheaper per GB and doesn't have the sustained write speed limitation. Physical quality is good, as is typical from Samsung. The drive is a little thinner than a typical 2.5" HDD or SSD which seems like a plus but doesn't really provide any value; if you're upgrading an old laptop, it probably already has space for a typical 2.5" HDD, while any new thin-and-light is almost certainly using an M.2 form factor drive and not 2.5".

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung 870 QVO SATA III SSD and for your review. Your 4TB drive was engineered to deliver speeds of up to 560MB/s Seq. Read and 530MB/s Seq. Write.
If you haven't done so already, you may want to use Samsung Magician to run Performance Optimization, ensure that your motherboard supports SATA III interface, check that all performance related settings are set correctly (cached enabled, AHCI enabled), and be sure you have the latest version of the driver.
As there are various factors that could affect speed, I would encourage you to call Samsung Customer Support to further troubleshoot your issue.
