If your MB will support a PCI-E drive, then there is no other option IMO. Get the biggest drive you can afford, if its not big enough to store all your data. Don't worry I use a traditional disk drive (ready multiple TB raid array) for storing videos and music, but for the operating system this drive can't be beat. Super quick boot time and insane read (up to 1300+ MB/s) and write (+900MB/s) speed.

This is such a piece of modern awesomeness. I love this SSD. NVME SSDs are the future and this one is the best out there right now.

The chip (drive) has worked flawlessly and it was easy to install. The only "issue" was that it didn't come with a retaining screw. I understand that various manufacturers use different screws, but I'm guessing there aren't too many varieties. It would have been nice to have a few options included. How much would the cost be for 4 or 5 little screws? I wound up taking one from the laptop case because I didn't have any that fit.

The Samsung EVO 950 Pro m.2 SSD is reputed to be the best available based on all the reports I read and I'm happy to agree - they were all 100% accurate and correct, Lightning fast speeds at both read and write, easy to install using Samsung's supplied Migration software. I migrated a my installed HDD to this SSD (W10 OS) in less than 10 minutes. I highly recommend this m.2.SSD.

This SSD is all kinds of fast. It blows away my other SATA III SSDs easily. It's hands down worth the money if you want to push your system as fast as it can go.

top notch from Samsung. Leaps and bounds quicker than a sata III 850 pro. reasonable price . Write speed about 60% of the read speed is probably the only con.

Got for a good price, can't go wrong with this one.

Built my first PC for myself and went with all the new stuff (Skylake/Z170, etc.) and used this for my main drive. This thing is super fast. For instance, I copied a 26GB virtual machine from one folder to another and it took around 2 minutes. Doing the same thing on my 2011 Mac Mini (i5, regular HDD) takes around 20 minutes. Boot times are great, antivirus scans are quick, and everything loads nice and fast. This thing will spoil you though, it's hard to go back to anything slower. I will definitely add at least another 512GB to my PC, this thing is the best and worth the price.

I bought this SSD for my dell alianware laptop which only support M.2 or PCIe SSD. Samsung 950 pro is expensive comparing to other brands. But it is really fast both in writing and reading. I would say it does excellent job for this price.

SAMSUNG EVO drives come with RAPID RAM based cache software - allowing your lower cost EVO to run much faster than the PRO M.2 drives. Furthermore, these M.2 drives are incompatable with RAPID and other RAM cache software - they fail to start or refuse to even recognize Samsung M.2 SSDs . I regret paying nearly twice as much for an SSD half the size that simply does not work.
