I love these usb flash drives in the metal enclosure. Very durable and tough to damage. Fyi, the metal will get scratched from contacting the metal pins of the usb port. Good read speeds when used in a usb 3.1 port. Write speeds are not that great but I use them for running diagnostic programs so they are mainly being read from.

-----Reader Education------ USB 2 can run at 0.48Gbps (40Mb/s real world) The naming for USB 3 is a complete mess of renamed standards: USB 3.0 / USB 3.1 Gen 1 / USB 3.2 Gen 1 are all re-brands of the same thing (5Gbps) USB 3.1 / USB 3.1 Gen 2 / USB 3.2 Gen 2 are all re-brands of the same thing (10Gbps) USB 3.2 / USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 are all re-brands of the same thing (20Gbps) A USB 3.0 interface can do about 450MB/s real world Just cause a drive is marked as USB 3 does not make it faster than a USB 2 drive Analogy 1: Just cause the speed limit is 300Mph does not mean the car can go actually go that fast Analogy 2: Putting USB 3 on a junk drive is like putting a golf cart on the freeway, it is not gonna go faster cause it is on the freeway A mechanical HDD can read at about 150MB/s cheap ($20) Sata 3 SSD can do 550MB/s Read and 300MB/s to 500MB/s Write, there is no reason why flash drives with write speed at over 300MB/s are nowhere to be seen -----Product Review------ I got this drive under the hope that Samsung would not want to tarnish there name by selling a trash tear drive with there name on it and i am glad to say they this is not a trash tear drive, the write speed are far from something to brag about, but they are usable enough to not hurt the general user experience Rule of thumb is if a drive does not advertise it write speed it is gonna be bad I Wanted a cheap drive that is not horrifically slow, turns out this drive is not complete junk like the last cheap drive i got at best buy was (64gb pny usb 2.0) that is so slow it may as well be a 4gb drive as nobody has time to fill more than 1gb of data to the thing 200MB/s read on a flash drive will not do anything for the average user, yea it is great for installing windows to a computer from, but it does not making putting windows on the flash any faster, a typical user will not see any difference running this drive on a USB 2 port vs a USB 3 port This drive is made by "Silicon Motion, Inc. - Taiwan (formerly Feiya Technology Corp.)" or at least my sample was Single file copy test: 1,039,792,981 bytes (~1GB) from a 7200 RPM 1TB HDD to this drive took 1 minute and 5.37 seconds on a USB 2.0 port

Great look to it, but is very hard to put it and to take out of USB ports. Also once you use it the surface is ruined as it tightly scrapes inside of the USB port. The drive looks nice until you use it basically. The material or finish on it is also super slippery and makes it hard to hold

Got this 32GB usb 3.1 flash to mainly run diagnostic software from. I did get ~220MB/s read speeds on average in a usb 3.1 port. Using it with a usb 2 port dropped the read speeds to as low as 6MB/s. Write speeds are pretty low at 33MB/s on average in a usb 3 port but I plan to mainly read from it for now. I had a $5 rewards credit to use which brought my final price to slightly over $5 so this was a very good purchase overall.

Samsung really has it going on with these drives. Metal case, nothing to flip or remove, just stick it in. And blazing fast. I've been using one as my regular storage for business stuff that I take on repair jobs, and it has never even hiccuped, let alone fail.

Great quality USB. I've got 3-4 of them. Hefty weight for it's size, the metal helps with keeping it cool over all so it can give you good write/read with less wear and tear. It's fast enough to be used as a live Linux environment.

I've learned to trust, use, and recommend Samsung drives more than any other, and the "BAR" series is a perfect size, very durable, very fast, and their warranty is outstanding.

Purchased this drive for my Unraid server, and it’s been running non-stop since. Very impressed with the quality and reliability of this drive

2nd one I own. First one is used as a boot drive on FreeNAS build. Use this one for consulting work. So far not a single problem with either drives. Having a reliable USB Flash Drive is very nice after trying dozens of other brands. High speed USB flash drives tend to run hot this runs pretty cool.

Great flash drive it gets the job done no problems my computer easily recognized the usb and It was immediately usable. Does get a little hot cause it is hard plastic but there is a metal one that costs more this one is fine too and amazing for what it’s worth other flashdrives might have hundreds of small things and get complicated this is simple and works

Great flash drive for the price. Gets hot when in use.

I kept breaking plastic housed flash drives so this metal Samsung BAR has saved the day. I can move from device to device with a solid insertions and removals. It also acts as a heat sink on some of my devices.

I have used these for a long time, they seem to outlast all the other brands I have used including the first 2.0 they came out with. I have never had 1 stop working.

This USB seems to work at any device (Don't matter the brand or type) and install very easy and fast. On top of it, it was purchased at a great price.
