Customers are saying

Customers admire the BD-H6500/ZA Blu-ray player's exceptional picture quality, ease of use, and 4K upscaling capabilities. Many appreciate its convenient features, including built-in Wi-Fi and streaming options, as well as its compact size and reasonable price. However, some users find the placement of the controls and buttons on the top of the unit inconvenient, and a few have expressed concerns about the remote's design and functionality. Overall, the positive feedback on picture quality and ease of use outweighs the negative comments regarding the controls.

Great Price & You Can Tell...

Bought this blu ray player because it was on sale for a great price. However, as soon as I opened it you could tell why it was so cheap. Only a good deal if you can't afford better!

This thing is junk. The worst. They do not tell you you have to buy a card for it to work. Batt were dead, remote to small. Up date 10 min. Sorry I got. Going back after 20 min. If I had not paid so much for it would just trash it

If you have a DVD library DO NOT BUY THIS MODEL

I have used Samsung for over a decade and absolutely love our samsung monitor but the J6300 bluray player just does not work properly with playing back DVDs. They claim on the specs that it plays DVD±R/RW, DVD-Video - its a lie. The playback skips, freezes and suddenly jumps to fast forward. If you have a recorded DVD library DO NOT BUY THIS MODEL!!! You will feel frustrated and angry with it. Its going back to Bestbuy today.

Cannot be performed because of disc restriction

Cannot watch most of my Blu-Ray and 3D movies. Constantly getting "This cannot be performed because of disc restriction". Firmware was upgraded when setup out-of-the-box. Found that inserting a USB stick and setting BD Live to allow helped, but then reverts back. Cleared BD Management of cache but problem still persists. Setting BD Live to Prohibit does nothing. Manual says that the player on plays certain types of media but these are commercial off-the-shelf movies such as "Transformers: Age of Extinction" which is fairly recent. Haven't contacted support yet though, to be fair.. but Google shows nothing of this

Cannot turn off or dim display.

I bought the Samsung BD-H6500 Blu-Ray Player to match my Samsung TV. I got it all set up up, got my wireless connection working, so far so good. Then upon watching my first Blu-Ray disc I find that the LED display cannot be turned off. Not only can it not be turned off, but there is no option for dimming the display at all. You're just forced to stare at the bright numbers counting down time as your trying to watch a movie. I find this maddening, as well as inexcusable. All Blu-Ray/CD players should have the option of shutting off the front panel display. Most at least have the option to dim down the display. This Samsung has neither. I also found the aesthetics of the unit a bit odd. One corner is rounded while the rest are squared? Who designed this thing? Either make all the corners rounded or all squared! Needless to say, I returned the unit and bought a Sony BDP-S6500 instead which has no front display panel at all on the unit to worry about. That unit is also nicer looking, and has more and better features.

Doesn't work with Samsung 4K TV

I was able to get the Blu Ray connected to my older 1080p TV after connecting it through our receiver. Purchased a new Samsung 4k TV (UN55JS9000FXZA) and cannot get the Blu-Ray to work (weak or no signal message). Since I purchased the extended warranty for the TV I contacted Geek Squad but they still wanted $149 to come and figure it out. Tried contacting Samsung but they never got back to me. Shouldn't a Samsung 4K Blu-Ray player work seamlessly with a Samsung 4k TV?

    Product Advertising incorrect..no 4K up-scaling

Model BD-H6500/ZA in not 4K up-scaling capable, it is only HD up-scaling.. Confirmed with Samsung Site and Amazon also has the correct HD up-scaling only write up. Jim
