This blu-ray player is easy to use and pretty compact compared to my regular DVD player.

I am a huge advocate for Samsung in general. The communication between devices is magical - turn on the DVD and the TV turns on and switches to the appropriate input - smooth 3D motion and upscaling makes older DVD media look better

Got this DVD to replace yet another Samsung DVD player to go with a new Visio 4-k tv. My Best Buy professional recommended this as it plays both blue ray and standard dvd's. You will need to adjust it to reduce shuddering when upscaleing but overall, it is worth the price. Great picture, although I am sure it is more the tv than the dvd. Don't forget, you will need the top of the line HDMI cable if you want the best quality picture as well. I had the Geek Squad install mine and it made life so much easier!

Purchased this HD Blue Ray to go with our Samsung HD TV. Many choices for settings which enables fine tuning to match the capabilities of the TV. Takes time to read the manual and experiment with the settings to optimize performance but worth the effort. The very competitive price for an HD player helped make our decision.

This is a good dvd player for the money. It supports multi channel surround sound unlike some of the other cheaper dvd players. It has the Smart apps so it makes my regular (no smart) tv work like a smart tv with no noticeable difference. You can just turn on the dvd players and you have the apps on your screen just as if it was built into the tv even though it isn't! It even supports plugging in a wireless usb keyboard/ mouse. There are 2 things I wish it could do but cant't. 1. It will not do a remote desktop connection (there is no app) to allow you to work remotely on your pc. 2. You have to use the special Samsung software on your pc if you want to be able to share files. You can't just connect to a network share, enter your password and view the files. You must first install the software on the pc then you can view the files. This is sad because even some older dvd players would allow you to connect directly to a network shared folder if you know the username/ password. This is the reason for the 4 stars because it lacks two features that would have been nice but this doesn't make it a total deal breaker! Maybe I am just asking too much out of a dvd player!

Have been wanting to upgrade our old DVD player for a Blueray . When this was offered at an incredible price during the Black Friday sales, thought I would give it a try. I also liked the bonus of the 3D feature to go with our new Samsung 4K 3D TV. Picture quality is incredible. I also connected my Samsung phone via the Blueray's bluetooth capability and enjoy viewing my phone photos and videos.

Only played one movie on it and quite a few cd's. The picture quality is great. As for the cd's I prefer my old Sony dvd player. I don't like that you have to have the tv on to play the 4k receiver we had to buy and it has no numbers for changing tracts. Seems this new 4k technology can't read the old digital equipment I had as I had my dvd, stereo receiver and speakers all hooked up to the tv.

I was skeptical about Blu-Ray players generally but the kids really pushed for it. I have to say that there is a difference, and we are really enjoying it. But we now have a 4K TV so maybe I jumped the gun. They tell me 4K player should be out by the end of this year. But no complaints--this is a great device.
