Samsung did a nice job with this air purifier. Good looks and a quality build. These filters are not washable, you must buy new ones when they age. Just a heads up, although all the higher end models require that as well. Washable filters dont cut it when it comes to cleaning the air we breath anyway. The air purifier comes well packaged and all the filters are wrapped in plastic, so you have to take it apart and remove the wrappers then put it back together, good for practice I guess. Unit is pretty hefty in size but not very heavy. I have a whole house filter so I ran this one in my air conditioned shop. Wow! A shop that normally smells of all kinds of stuff, specially of race fuel now smells much better and the race fuel is almost non existent, not gone completely but now it's definitely not as powerful of an odor. I love the motorized covers that move out as the fan speed ramps up, pretty cool. I run it on max 25/7, does a good job circulating the air as well. Im curious how long the filter will last in this environment, and will try to remember to update here once I find out. Good looking, smart (has and app), and it actually works, so I would definitely recommend, 10 out of 10 so far.

A Quiet and Thorough Air Purifier

Air purifiers do make a difference for indoor areas. I have pets that shed fur and dander, air allergens are almost a constant and since I live in California, fire season is right around the corner. It’s basically the trifecta of air issues. My recent air filter served me well but it was noisy and troublesome to maintain the filters. I was definitely in the market for a new air purifier and decided to try out the Samsung Air Purifier. Easy Setup: The Samsung is almost ready to go out of the box. You just need to remove the filters from their plastic wrappings, easily insert them and you’re good to go. There are pet mesh filters included if you want your air purifier to take on what our fur babies unload into the air. The pet mesh filter easily clips into place. You can use the touch screen interface on the front panel or for a more in-depth user experience, you can download the Samsung SmartThings app that explains the air readout without the need of consulting the physical manual. Performance: The settings for the Samsung Air Purifier are Smart, High, Sleep, Wind-Free, and Pet. I have to note that even when the purifier was on High, it wasn’t that loud compared to my previous purifier. The Smart mode cleans the air in the room and if it detects that the air is clean then it will go into a ‘hibernation’ status. The Pet setting focuses on removing those ‘fun’ smells that come with a litterbox or the smells that accompany wet dog/cat foods. After using my Samsung Air Purifier for several weeks, I have noticed that there has been a reduction in dust and random fur accumulation compared to when there wasn’t an air purifier. Since there isn’t any wildfire smoke (thankfully) in the area, I cannot speak with authority as to how the Samsung performs. However, judging how it performs with pet dander and orders, it will do its best to clean the air of harmful smoke pollution in the house. Design: Normally, I wouldn’t take note of the design of an air purifier but in this case, I feel that I have to appreciate what Samsung made. The Samsung purifier isn’t garish or awkward when in the room. I suppose you could say it’s a minimalist design while still having a neat front panel that extends when in use. Samsung doesn’t beg to be the center of attention in both design and sound performance. I also like the fact that I will be alerted to when the air might reach problematic quality levels whether it’s through the front display or via the app. Maintenance: I won’t go into the details of what the instruction manual reads when it comes to cleaning the filters but from what I have read, it seems easy and doesn’t require a lot of effort. Just read the instructions thoroughly. After spending a month with this air purifier, I am VERY happy with my Samsung Air Purifier and it would seem that it will have a long future inside my home.

Unpacking the Samsung BESPOKE Cube Air Purifier was easy enough, and that was some minor assembly involving the filters and power brick. In total, it took about 5-10 minutes to get it operating. My first thought was that the off/on chimes make this seem like some household device from the 90s. I don't know how else to describe it, but it's easy to get over. Initially I wasn’t certain that the air purifier’s air sensor was accurate, but using my thermostat’s air quality detector and running the air purifier, I found that it is in fact accurate—as the purifier ran, the pollutant levels reported by my thermostat decreased. According to both the air purifier and my thermostat, I now have very clean air! The purifier’s small screen informs you of the current air quality, and the manual explains all this, but I have yet to get a grasp on it other than high numbers are bad, blue or green is good quality, and yellow or red is bad quality. If the room has good air circulation, is relatively small (400 square feet or less), or both, this air purifier works a lot faster. I’ll often turn on a ceiling fan to speed up the purifying process. It does well to clear out the smell of food after it’s cooked, even bacon. I tried the room where we have our cat litter box, however, and it doesn’t seem to do so well to remove the smell that lingers in there, even when I have it on high circulation. I found myself mostly using the smart preset, as it runs the purifier at the proper speed according to the quality of the air. It’s interesting to watch it run at a high speed (you can hear how hard it’s working) and slow down as it actively purifies the air. I do like to use the high preset when cooking. I don't really use the pet, wind-free, or sleep settings. I’m not sure why the package included so many pet filters—one seems fine to me, and I run it almost constantly with a dog that loves to shed along with two cats. It also looks like it could be reused a few times. I get that this thing requires a lot of parts to do a lot of work, but still—it’s rather large. I haven't yet figured out the best place to put it where it doesn't stand out so much. I like its shape and design, but I simply don't know where it can go that it feels out of the way. And it would be nice if it had some handles or carrying shape for easier mobility around the house. It’s nice to know that my family and I are breathing better-quality air thanks to this air purifier, and despite its size, it can run quiet yet effective enough that I don’t even notice it’s there most of the time.

Easy setup and easily controlled thru the SmartThings App. It is a little bigger that i expected but it has a modern design to it which easily blends into the background. The install and setup, including sleep mode which runs a quieter fan as to not disturb your slumber is very convenient. I set the schedule and forget about turning it on and off which sounds like a small convenience but it nice to have smart air purifier which ramps up depending on the air quality. I have visibly noticed less dust buildup on the wooden furniture which was a nice surprise but the main draw is the air quality. The reading shows the air quality which is always satisfying to see the level of clean air. I have also noticed less random coughing whenever the A/C is ON, possibly due to any dust kicked up during the A/C seems to be picked up by the air purifier. I am genuinely happy with the performance and the easer of operation. I definitely recommend it if you have allergies, pets or notice your heater or A/C kick up alot of dust during their operation.

As an seasonal allergy sufferer and pet owner, air purifiers are a great item to have around the house. My prior experience has been with "dumb" fan and cannister type filter models. This cube style purifier has impressed my with it's ability to trap pet hair (on a removable and cleanable pre-filter!) and filter a lot of small dust particles and pollen out of the air. With a two stage filtration system this purifier traps a lot and maybe it's my imagination but the air just smells better blowing out of it! The system monitors the air quality, though I have no way to verify the readings. Running in "smart" mode, this air purifier is the quietest I have experienced. As the system determine there are more pollutants in the air, it speeds up and gets quite a bit louder, but that has so far been infrequent and doesn't go on for very long. I tried different modes and found that the PET setting got better air circulation in my space. This cube is more or less forward-firing, but when it ramps up for greater airflow the forward grate extends out slightly allowing air to come out of side and top vents. Overall I am happy with the performance of this air purifier. In terms of the design, I am a less impressed. The cube and patterned grate give me a Soviet era brutalist esthetic vibe. Others might like the minimalist look of it, and I imagine there are a lot of people with more modern decor that the look would suit. The cube shape does make placement a little trickier than cylindrical air purifiers as it is important to have quite a lot of clearance for the intake of the unit. This purifier is also very large, comparable to a smaller office fridge, a fact that will also affect where it can be easily placed in a room so that it isn't in the way. I am a little concerned about the complexity and durability of the mechanism to push the discharge side out. I feel like that is a bit of a gimmick, and will eventually break down. This air purifier apparently has air quality and settings items that can be accessed through an App, but I had no luck getting it connected- the app just could not "see" the device even though I went through the instructions. I did not ding the review another star because I feel like this feature is probably more unnecessary flash. The filters are quite expensive, but I have found this to be the case with most HEPA systems, and I am hoping that because Samsung is a major manufacturer I will be able to get the filters when I need them, which has been an issue with my air purifier from a "smaller" brand.
