First of all with this price tag I'm expecting a solid design and flawless operation. Did not happen.
I went through two of these before switching to a different model.
Major problem: the venting capabilities are terrible!
This microwave comes with an extremely powerful fan that takes air in from everywhere but the bottom. With a pot of boiling water the front gets soaked very quickly and vapor condenses over the filter and forms drops that ... fall back into the pot. Not acceptable.
Thought it was a defective unit (don't expect to get any technical help from Samsung support because there are not technical persons answering the phone), the second one was slightly better (did not take are in from the sides) but still not usable.

Needed over the range microwave and since all my kitchen gear is samsung, I continued with the brand, last day my contractor was here before he was leaving I open the box and the unit was damaged in the corner, I did not have time to return it nor pay him again to come back so had him install the one that came in, sure I was mad but thats the shipper fault I am guessing, however it would make sense for companies like samsung to use plastic corner protectors since it happens to a lot of people from what i see.

This was a replacement from my kitchen aid in which my door broke after several years. I love all of the many functions and ease of use. The key functions located on the bottom door are convenient and sleek. I also like that the filter is washable unlike my kitchen aid in which I had to keep purchasing new filters every time I fried foods due to the lingering smell. I love Samsung products and this microwave rocks!

...this last appliance finishes off the Chef Collection suite of appliances. While we're still learning the ins and outs of this microwave, the controls are not as intuitive as the older GE unit it replaced.

WORST SAMSUNG PURCHASE EVER

I ordered this microwave from BestBuy -- great service on their part! I paid $300 to have my cabinet moved to fit the microwave and another $100 to have it installed. When I turned on the cook top/night light, it was blue! BLUE? I tried to change the light bulb but it's an LED "lamp pad" (which the specs online did not say) and it can't be changed to a normal white bulb. Called Samsung, sat on hold forever and then the girl who barely spoke english transferred me to J&J International (Samsung parts) while insisting they would swap out the LED lamp pad for a less blue version. She really just didn't want to deal with it. Sat on hold with J&J for a really, REALLY long time until I was connected with Mike at ext 203. He told me she "misled" me and that it can't be done -- said I am stuck with a bluish colored light in my brand new gorgeous softly lit kitchen. When I explained all I had been through to this point...he hung up on me!! SO... $600 for a microwave, $400 for installation and it's destroying the look of my kitchen and I can't use it. Spec sheet online indicates only "yes" to a cook top light -- no indication that it's an LED blue light. Terrible SAMSUNG and J&J experience.

I'm sorry to hear you aren't happy with your new Microwave, Cappy. LEDs are sometimes described as appearing "blue" compared to the more "yellow" appearance of many incandescent bulbs, but it's worth noting for others who may see this that this is not actually a blue LED used for the cook top light.

Worst quality. Terrible customer support. I would rate it 0 stars if that were an option. The first one we purchased was DOA. The second one has been an absolute nightmare. Keep your receipt, otherwise Samsung will not honor the warranty and even with a receipt they will not honor the warranty after 1 year no matter how many times they have to repair the microwave in the first year. First, the number touchpad stopped working and they replaced the door. Then, the number touchpad stopped working on the new door and they replaced it again. But, that time, they installed the wrong door (without the Chef emblem), so they had to replace it a third time. Then, when we ran the sensor cook, the microwave stopped and the screen went black. It reset itself after about an hour, but stopped working almost every time we ran sensor cook. Samsung replaced the sensor. Then, one day after the 1 year warranty expired (No kidding!), the microwave got really loud and then black screened again. When we called to ask them to service it, they told us that it was no longer under warranty and we would have to pay to have it repaired? Seriously?!!!

I bought this microwave 30 days ago and it acts as if its haunted. The light, fan, and cooking option constantly turn on and off by themselves, and this happens constantly all day and night. For the money I spent it should work perfectly. I paid for the name brand "Chef collection" to go with the matching oven I purchased and this thing is a piece of junk! The $50 microwave I bought from home depot years ago is way better then this one. I truly wish I could upload a video to show what this is doing.

Product is defective and would not work. SAMSUNG not able to fix - waste of money and extended warranty did not help. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THSI PRODUCT TO MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY.
