Customers are saying

Customers are delighted by the Chromebook Plus 2-in-1's touchscreen, ease of use, lightweight design, and good battery life. Many appreciate its convenient size and performance capabilities. However, some users express disappointment with the sound quality of the speakers and the lack of a standard USB port. Overall, the positive feedback on key features outweighs the negative comments regarding the less-than-ideal audio and port selection.

    Slow with a nice screen

It is a slow device, slower than my phone, slower than my 2 years old Android tablet, it doesn't feel like an improvement over my previous 2+ years old Chromebook. Maybe I should have bought the pro version with an Intel processor, but what I paid was the maximum I was willing to pay for this kind of device. The pen is almost useless, the palm rejection doesn't work well enough, I don't see the point of adding a pen. I'm not completely disappointed, the screen is very nice for a device of this price, the battery last for a long time and the overall design doesn't feel too cheap

I've been using Chromebooks since late 2010 and have purchased several, not because the old ones became unusable but because occasionally a new model introduced a design change or new feature that I wanted. The original ASUS Flip was a major change, being the first ultra-mobile convertible Chromebook on the market and for almost two years it's been my go-to device when I'm out of the office. The new Samsung Chromebook Plus is an even bigger game changer with integrated stylus, bright ultra high-resolution screen, convertible form factor and access to the millions of Android apps in the Google Play Store. The fanless processor is optimized to run Android apps well and the SCP is only a half inch thick and a little over two pounds. It's easy to pick up and take anywhere and has about ten hours of battery life so you can keep going all day without having to recharge. And when you do need to recharge, USB-C means that you can use any USB-C power supply even if you don't have the Chromebook Plus supply with you. The pen software makes it effortless to capture and annotate part of a screen, or to sketch or draw. The Play Store is still in beta, but it already works very well and the wide range of apps means I can customize my Chromebook Plus to do whatever I want; office apps, photography, music editing, podcast or YouTube content creation... The beautiful high-res screen makes the Chromebook Plus a great e-reader. The page size means that type is very sharp and instantly readable even if your vision is less than perfect, and the screen format means that pages in a graphic novel cover the entire screen and look better than they do in a real comic. And cookbooks, "coffee table books" and other books with photographs look stunning. Overall, this is an amazing device and a great value.

    The little machine that could

I traded in my old laptop during the promotion for a discount so I ended up only paying $250 out of pocket (plus the value of my trade-in laptop and $50 discount). The built quality of the machine is amazing - thin, sturdy and good key travel. It is super light and the screen is very bright. The OP1 CPU is more than sufficient for Netflix and YouTube with HD quality. I even had a hangout call going on at the same time. I did notice that after 6 tabs with 1 HAD video, there is some slowdown, with keystrokes being lagged. The pen is nice, but I see limited case of usage - it's cool to show people that you can draw or write on this, but it is not a replacement of a dedicated Wacom powered tablet like MS Surface. So by extension, the tablet mode, screen mode and tent mode are cool but not really useful in practice. This is too heavy and big for a tablet. The app support for pen/writing/drawing are Android apps (artCanvas & MS OneNote) runs fine on chromsOS, but still not smooth. Palm rejection is not great. So it is less of a notepad, more of giant heavy tablet with limited pen support. Buy, if you want the fast and light and high quality Chromebook. Do not buy, if you are looking for a MS Surface alternative that also runs chromeOS, the pen support is not there, and but a great tablet.

    Great device when working

This a mixed review. This is not my first Chromebook, and I was excited to replace my aging Samsung CB with this new Plus model to be able to run apps and have a touch screen. I love it, and it does everything I need it to, as I mainly use it as an internet device and am fine with cloud storage. However, within a couple of months of purchase, I started experiencing the phantom problems others have described, where it would randomly open and close screens, and I could not even shut down without using the stylus to access the shut down mode. It was intermittent and would go for weeks without doing it, so I just lived with it. Now, 9 months into ownership, the screen went completely dead. I made sure it was fully charged and let it sit overnight without accessing it, but it is now a boat anchor. Since it's within the one year mark, I will take it back to Best Buy and see if they will assist me in returning it to Samsung for a repair or a replacement. It's a 5 start product when it works. I think I was an early purchaser and there was definitely an issue with the early manufactured models. I still recommend this product, but would also recommend returning it or sending it back to Samsung for a warranty repair at the first sign of trouble.

I have bought many laptops, Macbooks and tablets. They have all been too heavy. This Chromebook is light and has great keyboard action. The screen is just big enough to watch videos, catch up on social media, look for recipes etc. It is large enough to do everything I want and small enough to fit in my purse backpack. I highly recommend this laptop for everyone, especially the older generation who want to enjoy being online but don't like a heavy awkward laptop. For additional functionality, apps can be downloaded from the Google Play Store. My favorite thing is using Google Chrome and syncing all my devices so that my bookmarks and passwords are saved on all my devices, and I don't have to remember them!

Admittedly, this laptop was an impulse buy. I just bought an HP laptop 6 mos. ago but it was huge, so I also wanted a smaller laptop for travel. Something that I could leave at the hotel and not be too upset if it went missing. The price was right and I love that it has a touchscreen, a built in stylus and the yoga function. I also love that multiple profiles can be built on it and it’s as easy as logging into a different Google account. As a part time college student and full time worker, I feel it is definitely a good buy. I probably should have waited until Black Friday though, but again, it was an impulse buy.

    Samsung Chromebook Plus

This is my second Chomebook. I bought the original Google chromebook (made by Samsung) in 2011. It was lacking in power and support back then. But now, The new Samsung Chromebook Plus, is a different kettle of fish. This is a powerful and very useful tool with all the bells and whistles. I am a power PC user and a tech support guy. This has almost replaced my Windows Surface Pro 3, which is a powerhouse machine. This chomebook uses the Google Store and therefore runs android apps, which I use on my phone and tablet. The only thing I would improve on this machine, is a backlit keyboard, which was not a deal breaker for me. I was looking at the Asus 302C, but I wanted to run android apps which this Samsung does. It is fast, very light and streams videos and movies perfectly. I routinely run 10 or more open tabs concurrently with no slowdown whatsoever. I recommend this to both casual and advanced users. I have an additional 128gb microsd card for additional space, but truthfully really don't need it. This chromebook is able to add the services of google drive, onedrive and dropbox so they are available as if you had the files on your machine. I totally recommend this after running it for over a month.

My daughter asked for a Chromebook this spring after using them exclusively in school over the last two years. The brand she uses in school is impossible to find in B&M stores and the other brands found locally are not very impressive except for the price. That is until now. The Samsung Chromebook Plus is everything she wanted plus a gorgeous touch screen, stylus, large track pad, great battery life, and it runs Android Apps. The screen and case/frame are as nice as my Ultrabook which cost three times as much without a stylus. The thin frame contains two USB-C ports, not standard USB ports so you may need a converter. With the recent trade-in special, the price was great. One improvement would have been a backlit keyboard.

The main reason I grabbed this wasnt as a replacement for my laptop. I just needed something light weight and with good battery life to get me through the week with how much I am always on the go. My laptop was big and the battery life isnt great. I can easily get through 8+ hours of usage and still have plenty of battery life left. If you use google products like I do then this will be perfect.

This is my first chromebook and I am pleasantly surprised. For what I intend to use it for: emails, web surfing, and school work it seems to provide enough performance to accomplish those tasks. The aspect ratio of the screen is at first, odd. After using it for awhile, I've grown to appreciate it's size and clarity. The display is bright and sharp and very comfortable to look at. The included stylus resembles the S-pen from Samsung's line of Note devices and is more a novelty for me than a key tool. It does work well, and provides some interesting tools for interacting with the operating system. The ability to manipulate the position of the screen is an amazing feature. Being able to transition from laptop, tent, to tablet forms is a lot more useful than I had originally imagined. Coming for a mid-2012 Macbook Pro, the keyboard is definitely smaller and the trackpad isn't as smooth. However, the savings in weight is enough for me to overlook those minor issues. The inclusion of the app store is definitely a welcome addition, but there are issues that cause apps to crash randomly. As this function is still in beta, I was prepared for this and do not consider it as big an issue as it may seem. My main motivation for purchasing this product, was to avoid having to bring my laptop and additional tablet with me on a deployment. So far, it is working out well and I'm very pleased with this purchase.

I love this thing more than I thought I would. I had a Samsung Chromebook that was fairly old and was looking to get a new one. I held out for the app-friendly 2-1 version and debated whether to spend the extra money, but I'm glad I did. The screen is much clearer, and I am able to use it outside, although not a backlit screen. The screen is a little taller than my previous one, so it took a little getting used to, since I liked the size of my older one, but I like it, now. I don't use it as a tablet much, since I like typing on a keyboard, but it's nice to have the option to open it completely up and turn it around to set it on my counter while I'm cooking. I love how easy it is to do a screen cap with the stylus, also. I expect I will explore the apps and tablet usage more as I get used to it. I'm rarely without access to wi-fi, so this new version really does everything I need it to at much less the cost of a PC 2-1. The only thing that surprised me was that it does not have regular USB port. It's USB-C (2 of them). A quick search provided some easy converters so I could use the dongles and chargers I had, so it ended up being a non-issue. I did get a great deal with the trade-in of an old laptop, so I was happy with the price I ended up with. Full price was a little more than I wanted to spend, but now that I have it, it would have been worth it.

I read a lot of reviews before pulling the trigger on this. I was not disappointed. This chromebook is small, lightweight, and fast. I actually find myself using it in tablet mode more than laptop mode. That was an unexpected surprise. My only negative it that I wish it had a backlit keyboard.

I’ve had this for about 3 years now. It’s great for college kids, it’s not for gaming or anything super tech but if you want a easy laptop for classes and zoom this is the perfect one! It’s light, fast, comes with a pen and folds over. I even bought a cute skin for it. 10/10 would recommend!

This is my "go to" device for You Tube, Netflix, Amazon Prime, surfing, banking, email and calendar. It has great screen resolution, good touch screen response and descent touch pad response. Chrome starts as soon as the screen is lifted (if you do not sign out). Since documents are saved in Google Drive, I don't have to worry about lost files and backups. It is also nice to not have to worry about malware or virus installations.
