Customers are saying

Customers are delighted by the Chromebook Plus 2-in-1's touchscreen, ease of use, lightweight design, and good battery life. Many appreciate its convenient size and performance capabilities. However, some users express disappointment with the sound quality of the speakers and the lack of a standard USB port. Overall, the positive feedback on key features outweighs the negative comments regarding the less-than-ideal audio and port selection.

    Chrome Experience

I purchased my Samsung Chromebook Plus 6 months ago. I find it is good for playing internet games, searching the internet or online videos. But I do not find it very effective when using productivity type software. For example, I do a lot of work with Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. Some of the functionality I depend on under Microsoft, I did not find easy to use with my Chromebook. Same with Microsoft Word. Even though I used Google Docs version, some of the functionality that I normally would use was not available or took longer to navigate. Using the Chromebook I found my productivity was slower. It took me longer and was frustrating. I was not able to get comfortable with making the switch. So I have had to go back to a Windows based laptop and will keep my Chromebook for surfing the internet or playing internet games for now.

Seriously. If you only use your PC for surfing the web and writing word docs...you don't need a PC. You need this device and an office 365 subscription. Even then, just use Google docs and skip the subscription. And it runs Android apps, too. Seriously.

I had the Acer R13. Great laptop, but Chromebook Plus showed me everything the Chrome OS was and will be! Perfect! The unit works perfect as a laptop or a tablet. Sure its smaller than the R13, but works more natural in hand as a tablet. Got to say the R13 is better in the laptop mode, but makes for a huge tablet...

    Not Overy Impressed

I've found that this device, though chock full of features, has not executed them very well. There are definite limitations on the types of apps one can download; the tracking on the stylus isn't great; and I've experienced problems with the trackpad and screen acting erratically. When I contacted Samsung, their first solution offered was to whitewash device (talk about nuclear options). While it appears that I've been able to resolve the screen and touchpad issues, had I to do it again, I would would have put the device to more rigorous testing when I first bought it, and returned it at the first hint of disappointment. Unfortunately, I didn't, so I'm stuck with a mediocre execution of a device that seemed to have great promise. If you need these features on a Chromebook, I would compare this one to other vendor before making a final decision.

I replaced my HP Chromebook that died after 3+ years. I love chromebooks because of the fast startup time and the easy quick updates. I'm totally into the Google system, using their Google Docs, Spreadsheets, Gmail, etc. That said, The startup on the Samsung is S-L-O-W and scrolling is jerky. Faster than my PC but definitely slower than my older cheaper HP. I've tried it on two different WiFi networks just to make sure it wasn't my modem/network. The keyboard is very cramped and I find the muscles in the back of my hand tiring easily. The slimness of the unit makes finding a comfortable place to rest your arms while typing difficult. Stereo speakers are fine until you place the unit in tablet mode; because of placement on the back, the sound is terrible. The battery drains very quickly presumably because of the screen's high resolution; keep the charger handy! The promise of apps is still just a promise: the first two apps I tried on the unit would not work properly. Good stuff: I love the pen when I remember to use it for scrolling and clicking (I haven't used it to create sketches or art). I even signed an online document with it. Gorgeous screen. A lightweight unit overall and turning it into a tablet is cool (though I hesitate walking around the house with it for fear of dropping it, so I still use my lighter Samsung Galaxy Tab A). The other plus of this unit is that, as of this writing, Google will continue to update it for a whopping 6 years. That's the longest update guarantee I could find on any chromebook I was considering. So the high upfront cost of this unit is actually cheaper than others if you consider it is good for 6 years. Overall though, I really expected better performance, comfort and sound from this unit.

    nice upgrade for a chromebook

Bought this to replaced by Asus Flip chromebook and it is a great upgrade. It ships with the beta Play store which is really nice. I purchased in on sale for a great deal but the regular price is too high for the given specs. I've been using this a lot more often than even my macbook air because it feels more portable. Pros: -Fast and responsive -Great resolution and the odd aspect ratio is actually great for watching videos -Light -Decent battery life Cons: -very low volume on the internal speakers -the bluetooth connectivity is a bit shoddy -there is a lag when using the included pen to "write" in any app (also not all apps have palm recognition including the art canvas app it ships with) -had it for less than a month and the bottom already has a couple of dents on it with normal use so disappointed with the build quality

This is my first Chromebook, I was debating laptop or Chromebook. Im happy I chose the Samsung Chromebook Plus. The built in S pen and the great resolution is a couple of reason I really like this Chromebook. Also great deal from Best buy on trading my old laptop and getting a extra 50.00 off from Samsung!!!

Good quality build. Performance has been very good. Keyboard has a good touch and screen resolution is great. Battery life is easily what is advertised. My only question is if 32 GB is going to be sufficient but it has a memory card slot.

I bought this chrome book for my daughter who started college this year. She is taking online classes. Worked great except when the teacher did some assignments using windows like word or PowerPoint. She was not able to look at those assignments or do anything with the chrome book.

A Chromebook is a different kind of beast — strange and liberating. This particular model is powerful, well-built, and full of great features. The touchscreen is very sensitive, the processor seems quite capable (no stuttering), and the automatic updates are a breeze. Viva la Cloud!

Very pleased with all aspects of this Samsung Chromebook Plus. Only exceeded by the Samsung Chromebook Pro, which I also have, however the Pro is much more expensive. Recommend that you buy the Plus; better value and very similar specs/performance.

I got this laptop when I started college, it’s been a great laptop for when I have papers due! I don’t do much on it just school work and surfing the web so it’s been good for me one thing I don’t like is it doesn’t have a usb so I couldn’t update my Resume

I needed a computer suiting to my needs and inexpensive, the Google guy at best buy was very very helpful when he introduced me the Chromebook, he reviewed the specs, and its functionalities and I also had my daughter on the phone guiding me as well. The overall experience was awesome.

Most of the apps I downloaded could not configure with this system. I wanted to get the optimum app and it wasn’t supported through the google app store for the Chromebook. I couldn’t even download the app through the website. I returned this product 3 days after receiving it.

Does a great job at this price point acting as a tablet and laptop in one. Lightweight and fun to use. Only downside so far is several apps are not optimal in "portrait" tablet mode...they get squeezed too thin. This would be the ideal way to hold and browse facebook, for example.

The Chromebook Plus is an excellent option to other more expensive Windows based or Mac computers though it's functionality is somewhat limited. But you can still create and read spreadsheets, word documents pdfs, and other formats which otherwise are exclusive to Windows or Mac.

I use this Chromebook for work. We use Google drive for everything. The only reason I can't give it 5 is because of a recent update. It periodically kicks me off the WiFi and says it is out of range while others have no problem. Functions very well and the play store is a bonus.

It's a little pricey for a chrome book but I think the fit, finish and feel of the computer overall is worth it. It does slow down on occasion but in general it performs quite well. The screen is beautiful, the combination of a trackpad and touch screen makes it easy to navigate.
