Customers are delighted by the Chromebook Plus 2-in-1's touchscreen, ease of use, lightweight design, and good battery life. Many appreciate its convenient size and performance capabilities. However, some users express disappointment with the sound quality of the speakers and the lack of a standard USB port. Overall, the positive feedback on key features outweighs the negative comments regarding the less-than-ideal audio and port selection.

This is hands-down the best chromebook I've ever used. It's fast, battery life is phenomenal (I regularly get 8-10hrs of actual usage out of one charge), and it runs Android apps! It's incredibly thin and light. It's a little bit disconcerting the first few times you flip the keyboard over and turn it into a tablet, since you're holding it by the keyboard (i.e. the keyboard is the back of the "tablet"). But once I got used to that, it's great.

When my husband's large Toshiba notebook quit, our daughter suggested looking at chromebooks. We liked what we saw and researched them well. This is such a great fast computer, and easy and lightweight to take when we visit our kids out of state. I don't think he uses it as a tablet very often, but it does have that feature. Good value for the price. None of the constant problems that crop up with a Windows machine...

The Samsung Chromebook Plus is a great device, but not without some flaws. Some of the apps in the Play Store aren't compatible with this Chromebook yet. Overall, I'm really enjoying how lightweight and fast the device is. I often have several apps open while I'm working and the processor is fast enough to handle everything I've thrown at it. Great device for handling my everyday word processing, scheduling, email and reading needs.

The Next Gen Chromebook

I haven't owned a Chromebook for several years. My last was the 2013 Pixel, which was one of my all-time favorite devices I've ever used. I appreciated Chrome OS' minimal and lightweight usability. Fast forward a few years and here we are with the next generation of Chromebooks. This Samsung Chromebook Plus brings what made the Pixel so successful with a smaller package with half of the price tag. This has to be one of the most well-rounded devices I've ever used. Typing is a joy, the screen is jaw dropping and fit/finish is outstanding. I've used Macs, Surfaces, etc and this device is right up there for a fraction of the price.
Google and Samsung have knocked this one out of the park. Chrome OS is just as good as I remember and I'm beyond happy with my purchase.

After much deliberation between a laptop or an IPad, I stumbled into a
SAMSUNG Chrome Book. I investigated what it could do and after reading numerous reviews, I discovered that it was an amazing device.
If you're looking to surf the web, it's fast and efficient. For me, the simplicity was key. It's super easy to use and doesn't come with all
the extra "bloat" that some other products cram down your throat.

Pro: For hardware, keyboard is really great for typing. I needed to get used to some unusual small keys but that's it. It is not too heavy to carry around the whole day. It comes with a stylus so that it's a plus. I don't know how long it will last but so far so good. Writing on the screen is with palm rejection so that I can write naturally like I do on a paper with a pen.
For software, it comes with Android play store so that I am happy with that. You can even download Netflix video but don't expect good resolution though. There are still some crashing and relaunching for the computer at the start but it does not happen anymore.
The battery is okay for light usage but heavy usage needs at least one recharge in a day.
Con:
The outside cover is not scratch proof at all. I was really careful about it. And, then the scratches came from unexpected place. I put my Chromebook in my backpack with my school folder and two small metal dots from folder cover touched with the Chromebook cover and now there are two scratches on the cover. I don't think they are going to cover for this kind of damage anyway.
Changing between tablet mode by rotating 360 degrees is not as smooth and easy/convenient as I expected.
For software part, unlocking it using android phone mostly doesn't work. Needed more works. Initially, the Chromebook crashed a lot but it doesn't anymore. But, contrary to hardware part, it can be mostly sorted out over time over fixes/patches and updates.
Oh, the camera is really bad, maybe I am really used to the higher pixel on phone but if you are planning to video chat after you used to do on your phone, don't expect much out of it.
The price reduced by $50 the next morning after I bought the night before. So, I feel really bad about it. I used the student discount so that they can't do the price match for me either. :(
I would recommend this to a friend if they also in need of tablet style usage and stylus. Otherwise, I think the cheaper ones are enough for a Chromebook.

I am pleasantly pleased with my purchase of the Chromebook plus. I got it because I wanted a light laptop that I could write on so I could take quick handwritten notes. It does this and much more.
The battery life is unreal. I easily get a full day out of it and the performance of the laptop itself is snappy and responsive. I mostly use it for banking and video viewing. The battery charges very quickly and it's nice that it can charge from either side. Very convenient. I would highly recommend!

I purchased this machine for my wife who is more than a little bit tech-averse.
She uses it only for browsing the internet and sending and receiving email.
I have 2 other laptops and a Desk PC.
I have been giving it a whirl and find it very fast and easy to use.
I maintain a website and publish a monthly newsletter. In both cases I am using Google tools.
It works even better than my PC.
The only problem is I cannot get it to recognize my WiFi enabled printer.
Great machine.

We got this for our son and he loves it. It's light enough to carry around, but does everything he needs it to do. He especially loves that the keyboard flips back behind the screen so he can use it tablet style.

Bright, Light and 4:3 Screen

Note: I got this when Best Buy was running a trade-in sale so I saved $$$. Thanks, BB.
I've used several 8" - 11.6" laptops (mostly Windows) with the usual 16:9 widescreen display, but I do not like how little can be displayed in landscape mode and portrait mode just looks weird to me, too stretched out. And small text.
My wife has an iPad and the 4:3 screen seems to offer so much more viewability. So when I saw this item coming on the market, I was ready for it. (Thanks Chrome Unboxed) I have enjoyed it for over a month now.
Like other reviewers have said, the screen is very bright, but can be turned all the way down to zero with the keyboard controls. Note: I have an 8" Win 10 tablet that is still a bit too bright at night even with the display set to 0% brightness.
And the Plus starts up in 5-6 seconds and is quick on the internet even with 8-10 tabs open, Docs is nice in that it saves on the fly all the time (and uses the microphone for dictation with a high percent of accuracy). Flipping it to tablet mode for Android apps and games is handy using your fingers or the included stylus. Even in laptop mode I sometimes use my finger on the screen to do things instead of just using the touchpad or a mouse. It's nice to have choices.
Just Remember: this is Not Windows. It is closer to Android. Well, even more so since it runs Android apps. And the free Microsoft Office Android apps are only free for devices with a screen of 10.1" or smaller with one exception, OneNote is free for all users on all screen sizes. But, you can still use their online versions in a browser. Or take Google's office apps for a spin. for those wanting more info or help on Chrome OS, Google has a wealth of it on their sites.
Overall, I am very happy with what the Plus can do and how quickly it does those things. The flexibility of tablet and tent modes and the touchscreen are big pluses.

Got this chromebook so I wouldn't have to lug around a 15" laptop everywhere with me when I didn't need to do more then send out some emails or use Google Drive. Build quality is exceptional and the display looks incredible. Battery life is about what is advertised, which is really good. Set up was a breeze and Chrome OS is very user friendly and simple to navigate around. Overall an awesome chromebook and perfect for anyone looking for portability and ease of use.

Overall, it's a great device with perhaps one of the best screens out there (Chromebook or otherwise). It performs well and it's pretty fast, but it fell a bit short for me. The keyboard is just OK, but it feels like there's huge quality gap between that and the amazing screen. The fact that it's not backlit also made it difficult to use at night in bed while watching TV. Overall, I guess most will be happy, but for me it was just not quite there.

although I usually read reviews before purchasing, bought this spontaneously b/c it looked good and got a good buy on a open-box item.
So far, very happy. Gives the android apps of my old tablet but with a good keyboard and I like that I can expand memory with both a SD card and USB drive. It looks like Google keeps expanding the capability of the Chromebook devices which will make this even more useful in the future.
Initially, my college age son was not too impressed with it and was trying to convince me to trade it for a Amazon tablet. However, after using it a few times while home on break, he himself was quite happy with it ---which he admitted grudgingly :)
