I had to decide changeable lens camera or point and shoot. I went with a point and shoot with many features with an operation system like a cell phone. It is larger then a typical pocket would comfortable hold, but cargo pants pockets it works great. Most features are reached through the screen and not on outside of camera. It is awkward to take a selfie, but can be done. However the options that come with the camera to handle different situation are numerous. It even has a landscape option. For the everyday person the picture quality is above average. I am happy with the purchase and still learning all the things I can do with it.

Falls short of the quality I exspect from Samsung

I truly wanted this to be a another great Samsung device or wouldn't have even tried a second one when I returned the first. First and foremost......WHERE IS THE GORILLA GLASS!!!! I have accidentally dropped my S4 several times and after checking for damage all was still right in the world. I was sitting on a step trying to find a fix to the issues that were bothering me about the camera, sat it on my lap and reached for a drink, and the phone slid from my lap dropping at the most a foot. As soon as it landed I feared the sharp click I heard might be the touch screen glass breaking, which it did. I thought for sure the screen should have been Gorilla Glass but after checking online found no reference to that being the case. After this the touch screen response diminished as well as camera freezes began. Good thing I paid for the accidental damage coverage or I would have been stuck with paying for the repair as well as owning the camera. The camera was going back even without this happening. Sunrises and sunsets are a real item for me. Sadly, as long as there is even a hint of the sun left visible it is surrounded by glowing pink artifacts. Moving the camera or angle can change the degree of brightness and size of the artifacts but even if the 8 spots turns to one small one it is not acceptable. And to make that happen the sun will no longer be where I desire. Needs object instead of open sky to pull in focus. Panorama capture does not tolerate the changes in light on the beginning and end of the day either. As you pan the skyline, which needs to be mostly textured to land and vegetation to even begin the panorama, the camera shifts the exposure automatically leaving vertical banding and shade bars on the capture. Again not acceptable. I have owned a Galaxy S4 for over a year now and love the camera on it. Doesn't seem right to me that to do either of those 2 actions I have to pull out the phone for a much less troubled result, at a lower resolution and zoom option. To be fair I have taken some spectacular photos with this camera. Jaw droppingly SPECTACULAR as I would share them with friends whose reaction was most rewarding. Battery life is OK but bestbuy does not carry a replacement battery or any other option in any of the stores I visited. Zoom is a pretty nice feature and reaches pretty far out to grab a good shot. WIFI connectivity also a great plus. Auto-focus during video zooming is terrible. The case should be of a different, less slick material I like so much about this camera that I will have to wait for the next version to see if these items have been taken care of.

We attend a lot of hair shows through out the year. This camera is perfect for getting crisp close up pictures. Our son plays high school football and we get fantastic pictures of his game time. Family portraits came out great!

I read lots of reviews prior to purchase. Lots good reviews and loaded with features including WiFi. Camera takes hi Def pictures. Good zoom and Clear photos. Only bad part is the adhesive on some parts isn't the best. Had to use gorilla glue to fix it. Other than that ... it's a good camera at a good price.

I fell in love with the specs before I made my purchase. I was a little skeptical from reading the reviews too. But after having this camera for a couple of weeks, I have to admit it's an awesome camera. I love that's it a point and shoot camera but also added features that you'd find in a manual camera but digitalised. I love the quality of the images and with all its capabilities of sharing the photos digitally.

this camera exceed expectation. I went on a cruise with it and everyone on the ship wanted to know where did I buy it. the pictures were a wow. Handle pretty good. Not heavy, fit well in my pocket when not in use. The only thing is if one is going to take a lot of pictures one must have a second battery. easy connect to the internet to share pictures.

FAST STARTUP! EXCELLENT COLOR & CLARITY!

THEE CAMERA TO GET! THEE camera for amateurs & enthusiasts - even pros looking for a point & shoot!I Purchased this in October 2015, despite a mix of good and some very bad reviews. First, many of the BAD REVIEWS ARE WRONG! I am an artist and amateur photographer. I looked for manual override/priority settings, so that I could begin to teach my daughter about photography. At the very least, you want the option to adjust the EXPOSURE for improved shots over Automatic settings, especially when backlit. Here is what I found: > FAST STARTUP: Long hold the power button and camera will be ready to shoot in less than 3 seconds. Medium hold gets you Android screen in about 20. > HUGE VIEWING SCREEN, twice as big as other cameras, and with an area for your right thumb. Screen brightness can adjust automatically. Super bright sunlight IS a problem; a viewfinder would make this camera perfect. > ANDROID operating system is just like smart phone, but without the phone! Flip back and forth quickly from camera to Android. With the better viewing area, you can edit and e-mail your pix instantly and easily. And the best part? They flow instantly to Dropbox (via wifi), and when you power up your PC, there they are! Also has Bluetooth, but I found this slow. > EASE OF USE: SUPER EASY touchscreen with clean, fairly intuitive interface. I figured out most everything without the manual; info bubbles can be turned off once you get the hang of things. Download the pdf manual TO THE CAMERA and view with Polaris Office app. > MACRO: Crisp, clear detail. You can't get as close as you might like. However, take the photo and CROP it. I did that and had a beautiful photo with little grain/noise. If you are a pro, you'll probably want to use your DSLR. > COLOR: Exquisite accurate color. Lots of fun color settings to play with, PLUS almost infinite custom color adjustments. We had fun with the color effects, like "cartoon"; see my daughter's photo of the inside of the Statue of Liberty! > GOOD in LOW LIGHT: BSI-CMOS Sensor is an upgrade over many cameras; allows for great shots in low light, like concerts, birthday parties. New York City skyline: I took great nighttime pictures! > MODES: I counted 28 or so effects, some pretty wacky, but fun for kids #and you# to try: Eraser: erase moving objects in the background, like people who walk behind your subject. Drama: combines several images of your subject into one photo, like showing multiple views simultaneously of a skier jumping. > Substantial FEEL & WEIGHT, great grip area, and a place for your right thumb. > SLEEP MODE prolongs battery life; short press power button. > IMAGE STABILIZATION.8 GB INTERNAL MEMORY plus slot for micro SD card. NEGATIVES: > Burst/continuous is only 4 frames per second. But, if you can live with that, you're good! > Hard to find the right size CASE; I used one I had for an old point-and-shoot, and it fits perfectly! #look on e bay# > Pop-up Flash feels flimsy; I hope we don't break it! > No standard "portrait" mode, only a lot of specialized portrait modes which I find confusing and slow to use. > NO VIEWFINDER: This is the main reason I gave it a 4- instead of a 5-star rating. COMPARABLE CAMERA: Canon Powershot SX710 #RED of course!#, very similar features, but no viewfinder; I opted for the larger screen and bells and whistles of the Samsung, figuring I could get the Canon if the Samsung failed to meet my expectations—but it did not fail!

Great camera with Android operating system

This camera has the Android operating system in it. Makes it great for someone needing to take photos inside of a specific application that needs to be installed on an operating system. It does all the other things too, like post to Facebook or the Cloud (comes with 50GB cloud storage). Has 21X OPTICAL zoom. Screen resolution is great and is still visible in bright sunlight. It does have a tendency to get overheated on a hot day if you are using it a lot. I take about 500 photos each day with this thing. If you are planning to do any volume photos, have a vehicle charger with you, if away from home. It also has the NFC feature which can connect to other cameras or even cell phone ( I have the Galaxy S5). I have 3 of these that I use daily, with no major issues. I use a MIFI connection to access the internet. Simply stated, good camera for the price. It does everything your smartphone will do, except make dialed phone calls. This is the camera you wish your cell phone had in it.

This is a great camera for anyone who wants a user friendly product. Bought for my wife for Christmas. She is always nervous about using my Nikon D-80 and wanted something easy to use. I wanted a point and shoot unit and almost bought a small Canon when I saw this camera. When I turned it on I didn't know if it was a camera or a Galaxy smart phone. It looked and operated just like my wife's phone. Well it turns out this is a Galaxy Smart Camera. About the only thing it doesn't do is make calls. Everything else is there. It's hard to call it a camera because it is so much more. It takes completely awesome pictures, it's extremely easy to use and you can post pictures and videos right from the camera OR you can send pictures via email to anyone. Camera? No. It's a "smart camera". My wife loves it and I looked like a hero at Christmas!

Easy to use camera. It has WiFi and apps capabilities that allow you to share your photos instantly. Reminds me of just having a smartphone without the phone part. So if you are really into instagram and Facebook, this is a great feature. It also takes great photos.

The ability to use a phone like interface that we are already used to using with a camera is excellent. There is almost no learning curve if your familiar with the android platform. Pictures are awesome and the zoom is capable. You also have the ability to pinch and zoom, crop, rotate, rename, and make notes on the photos within the camera interface. I've been very happy with it. The only couple of things I would have done differently is to offer a black version in stores. Using this for my job in the field, it will get dirty looking. The other is it would be nice to power on the interface and not the camera when powering it up. It wants to go directly unto camera mode when powered on, and then by pressing home it will retract the lens and let you go into the interface unless you were in this mode when it was powered off. This is more battery drain and wear on the camera then needed.

My phone only comes with 16GB memory and so I couldn't get enough memory for my pictures. I found this phone randomly and so I decided to give it a try, after checking various reviews. I liked the fact that I can download apps to alter my pictures and then upload them to social media direcly and ASAP! I don't have to sit in front of a computer to transfer photos anymore!!!!!!! I also got memory cards so I can get even more memory for *unlimited* photos and videos of my baby :) The only downside is that I can't install certain apps for me to share my photos & videos instantly. To get around that I uploaded them to Google Drive (in one click) and download it to my cell phone for sharing privately. I also used this *camera* to browse the internet if I do not have my phone around because this can also be used as a mini-tablet. I am happy with this purchase/investment.

Takes very good quality pictures with lots of automatic setting features. I like the camera very much with its ability to even get emails thru wifi. Three weakness I have found are 1) the screen is very hard to see and use when in bright sun light areas, 2) screen is very sensitive and you must handle the camera carefully or you are on another screen 3) the battery must be recharged regularity. We just returned from a vacation where I took several outdoor pictures everyday. When we returned to the hotel at night my camera battery was usually down to the 20 to 30 per cent range. Had I taken flash pictures I am not sure how low the battery would have gone.

I bought this camera for a trip to South Africa (am there now). The camera has been easy to use. It fits into a small purse easily. It takes good close-up pictures and the zoom is fantastic. The sunrise pics came out great as well. If you don't use it for a few minutes, it "goes to sleep", but you just tap the on button and it wakes up. I used 3/4 of the battery on a 3 hour photo safari, but bought a portable charger that works just fine. On a side note, I have passed the camera off to family members to take pictures at times. So far 3 other people are talking about getting one in the near future. Two of these people have the very fancy cameras. I will say the manual is intimidating.

This is a great camera. My wife wanted a simple point a shoot camera that wasn't too low end. She saw this model in-store and immediately liked it, and had her mind set on getting it. She enjoyed that the camera had Android OS and that she was able to link her email and her google pictures online through her phone and it was seamless. Great camera overall. We did buy a case for it and use the strap always since the touchscreen is the same as a phone and dropping this (like any other electronic device) would be horrible. Overall great camera.
