If you’re looking for a budget-friendly unlocked 5G smartphone with solid fundamentals — large AMOLED screen, good battery, from a trusted brand with long-term support — then the Galaxy A16 5G (128 GB version) is a very good pick. It strikes a strong value.

Great size and weight with a sleek design. The screen is clear and bright. Unfortunately, regardless of settings, the touch response is slow and frustrating, to say the least. The placement of your finger seems inaccurate as well. For example, I can press an icon, but my finger is not aligned with the icon; it seems a bit off to the side

Perfect for my use. I use this device as a business phone. Battery life is the bomb. Light weight. Volume is great. Phenomenal pictures.

I wanted to take a cheaper phone on vacation rather than my regular phone. Best Buy had this bad boy on special so I got me one. Yes the phone is not as snappy as my more expensive phone, but for a whole lot less, I can live with it. The Camera is good, the screen is clear and bright enough, Battery life has been great. All in all for the price I paid, i'd say I got great value for money.

i bought this phone about a month ago and its been working great. Its good quality for the price. The only thing that isnt so great is the camera quality but its to be expected for the price. And i dont really use it so it doesnt really matter to me. Id recommend it to anyone who wants a temporary phone like me.

I am very pleased at the decision I made to upgrade to this phone. It gives me way more data storage than my previous phone and the visibility of the numbers and material to be read is much more clearer.

I was excited to upgrade to the Samsung A16, expecting at least a modest improvement over my previous Moto G 2023, but unfortunately, this phone's speed has been a disappointment. The A16 constantly lags and gets stuck, making even basic tasks frustrating. Scrolling through apps, switching between screens, and even typing can feel sluggish. What’s most surprising is that despite being two years newer, the A16 actually feels slower than my old Moto G. Looking at Geekbench scores, my A16 has a single-core score of 853 and a multi-core score of 1824, compared to my Moto G 2023’s 745 and 1779, respectively. On paper, the A16 should at least match my old phone’s performance, but in real-world usage, the A16 feels noticeably slower which makes it hard to use comfortably. Aside from the underwhelming speed, the phone does have a decent screen and camera for the price, but I simply can’t recommend it due to the poor performance. I understand that a budget phone isn’t going to be a powerhouse, but I at least expected it to perform as well as my old Moto G. Sadly, that’s not the case.

Efficient, great value for the money paid. Works just as well as my very pricy samsung galaxy s24. Wondering why I'm paying so much for other phones. This phone does great and originally bought one for travel(unlocked) but now I've bought another to gift as well. Camera and screen are comparable to my regular phone, although i will say that after restarting or first powering onn it does take about 10 seconds of lag, after which it runs just smooth. I dont mind those 10 seconds, I usually dont fully power off the phone anyhow. Pictures and videos are wonderful as well considering the price paid.

Very good phone on par with higher end Samsung phones from just a few years ago. Would recommend for great starter phone sound great and camera is great.
