The Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge is a sleek, AI-power

The Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge is a sleek, AI-powered laptop designed for portability, performance, and cutting-edge features. After evaluating alternatives like the HP OmniBook Ultra and Lenovo Yoga series, this laptop stands out for its AMOLED display, Snapdragon AI performance, and seamless integration with Copilot+ tools. Performance & AI Features Equipped with the Snapdragon X Elite processor (3.4GHz), it delivers smooth AI-driven performance optimized for tasks like data visualization, machine learning workflows, and automated processes. While it’s not as heavily performance-oriented as AMD Ryzen AI processors, it shines in efficiency and AI task acceleration—perfect for light bioinformatics tasks, presentations, and remote collaborations. The Copilot+ PC integration enhances workflow automation by summarizing reports, generating insights, and assisting with content creation—ideal for researchers and professionals managing dynamic projects. Display & Design The 14" AMOLED touch-screen is a showstopper, providing vivid colors, deeper contrasts, and excellent clarity—perfect for data visualizations, image analysis, and even entertainment. The Sapphire Blue finish gives it a modern, premium look, making it both functional and stylish. Its lightweight, portable build is an advantage for professionals frequently on the move, but the lack of USB-A ports may require adapters for older accessories, similar to other ultra-thin laptops. Memory & Storage With 16GB of RAM and 512GB SSD storage, it’s well-suited for daily multitasking, light data processing, and AI tools integration. However, it may feel limited for heavy NGS analysis or large dataset handling compared to the HP OmniBook Ultra’s 32GB RAM and 1TB storage. For users handling smaller genomic datasets or regular office workflows, this setup strikes a good balance between performance and portability. Battery Life & Efficiency The Snapdragon X Elite processor is optimized for energy efficiency, offering exceptional battery life—ideal for professionals who need to work remotely or during travel without worrying about frequent charging. Final Thoughts The Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge - Copilot+ PC is a stylish, AI-ready laptop that delivers efficient performance and brilliant visuals, making it a great choice for AI-powered workflows, collaboration tools, and presentations. However, professionals like me working in genomics and data-heavy fields may prefer the HP OmniBook Ultra for more RAM and storage capacity. For portability-focused users who prioritize battery life, display quality, and AI integration, this laptop is a standout option.

    Loving My Galaxy Book4 Edge!

I’ve had my Galaxy Book4 Edge 14” for a couple of months now, and I’m honestly super happy with it. The screen is gorgeous — bright, colorful, and sharp — and the whole laptop feels super light and premium. It’s fast, quiet, and the battery lasts me all day without any problem. What surprised me the most is how smooth everything runs with the Snapdragon X Elite chip. Apps open instantly, and it stays cool even when I’m doing a bunch of stuff at once. The Copilot+ AI tools are also really cool — I’ve started using them more than I expected. It also connects perfectly with my Samsung phone, and tablet , which makes sharing files and messages so easy. Overall, it’s been one of the best laptops I’ve owned — powerful, portable, and fun to use every day.

The future that should have been present already

This is my second Snapdragon X Elite laptop and second I am forced to return, but not because I have compatibility issues with the non native arm software. Both laptops were open box but I doubt new condition would be any different, and some issues may be specific to this very unit, some will probably be fixed in the future updates. Hardware related - the only CTRL key (since copilot button replaced the right ctrl key, and why ctrl, why not alt who uses both alt keys, or give the remap option as a choice), so the only CTRL key has a different and very loose feeling and irritating sound when pressed; left Shift key has a similar loose feeling, Backpace to some extent, so all wider keys except space bar, while all normal keys are very firm and pleasant to type on given the very thin laptop profile. From my experience in the past this key will eventually fall off so I do not want to deal with the warranty replacement and am force to return it to BB while I can. Since laptop is practically silent this is even more noticeable. As far as I know I am not OCD or this issues triggered it. All four "feet" that laptop sits on are also quite loose, but not noticeable or intruding as CTRL key. Power profiles are inconsistent - Samsung High Performance profile is different from the Windows Best Performance. Only with the Samsung High Performance profile you can get close to 4GHz on one core, or higher than 2GHz on all cores for a longer period of time, with fans spinning higher (still way quieter than any x86 laptop) Geekbench gives great results, however Cinebech 2024 arm version gives very low score compared to other laptops with the same Snapdragon version. AI performance is also very inconsistent, and that is why I mostly bought this laptop to try on. I am talking local large language model consumption that can be very well executed with more than 10 tokens/s rate, while AMD or Intel (previous gen models but still marked Copilot AI) gets 3 token/s at the same tasks. But then, it would go down to 3-4 tokens/s without any reason, and I assume it is related to power profiles. However while doing high intensity tasks even for a short period of time cpu produces strange sounds not heard by me from the time of intel cpu 20 years ago, when I had to go and use special tweaking software to deal with the cpu states to mask the noise. It is not cpu fan but some kind of electrical interference. Screen is fantastic but randomly flickers for a fraction of second, noticeable enough, and very annoying. It happens in Chrome, Zoom, did not notice in Edge. First I though it is related to variable screen refresh rate, but not, happens regardless of the setting when video is played or camera in use. I had a few OLED laptops and never experienced color change on video being played while scrolling up down? When charged can get very hot. When taxed with longer tasks can get very hot. Battery life is good having in mind smaller battery compared with my other Asus Rog Flow X13 AMD 7940HS that had noticeable lower performance on battery. My mixed usage gave me 10+ hours on both, but again Snapdragon had a better performance and 54Wh battery vs 74Wh on AMD. Now the goods - I love overall performance on day to day tasks, very snappy, Excel is excellent, practically no performance loss on battery, instant on most of the time, arm specific application works very fast compared to x86, my own projects that I was able to re-compile to arm works better and faster than x86. It seems like this is the future I was taught 30 years ago learning the risc cpu architecture. But unfortunately still a future, not a present. Mac M silicon is, but Windows Arm is not (yet). At the end, the price % drops tells you all, and I would not even try them at full price.

This is a great laptop with an amazing screen and graphics. Additionally, the snapdragon Elite processor is quite fast and I did not see any lag or delays. The laptop is very slim and light. The bootup was very fast and this is a great value for the price. The color is sapphire blue, but in reality is close to a silver with a hint of blue.

Amazing laptop! This is now my go-to daily laptop. The processor is extremely fast, it's ridiculously thin and light, and well-built. The display is very clear, with great contrast, and the AMOLED is perfectly visible even in direct sunlight. The battery last days in between charges. I haven't come against any software compatibility issues. I would recommend this laptop to family.

The Book4 Edge has been a game changer device for my girlfriend. She always had a mac but recently wanted windows because she was learning PowerBI. I gifted her this in Dec 2024 and it has literally been the best purchase in my history. The screen is sensitive enough for "touch-ifying" mundane tasks. I was on the edge about snapdragon processor since I've always used non-silicon CPUs but to my surprise it has help up superbly well with multitasking. It doesn't get hot, gives a decent performance despite being an ARM based PC. Some of the applications are not still supported on ARM but I believe for everyday and business uses the laptop is a steal. Love the AMOLED display, weight is amazing. Equal, if not slightly more than her previous macbook air but a killer performance with better microsoft support.

Samsungs quality control here is poor. The "rubber" feet on the back were Clicky, not solid. Once booted up the cursor would travel off the right side of the screen for not apparent reason and adjusting the resolution did nothing to fix it. I went back to the location and the demo model was doing the same thing. The Snapdragon processor was snappy and giving good battery life even in my short time with it. The keyboard was average but you dont want to type on it for long periods of time. There is SO much bloat on here that is not necessary and unlike on their phones where a lot of it is useful, it's not on Windows. The travel is very shallow. Screen was fantastic but for the price there are other Snapdragon Elites with similar if not better screens. Seems like Samsung may have just thrown these together because the quality control for what you are getting doesn't match up. I am going to grab a different brand as I like the new chip and it's nice to have a laptop you can actually use on your Lap and have it not be a Hot Plate after using it for five minutes. FYI if Co Pilot is giving you the heebeegeebees, it looks like you can uninstall it and have a great new laptop with a fantastic chip in it, just not this one. I did find that Co Pilot enhanced many other things like the camera and sound quality overall all so I wouldn't let any preconceived notions make you get rid of it before trying it out. Personal opinion.

I have had this since the release date. The Screen is Beautiful, Keyboard and Mouse Pad feel awesome, it is very light. The Battery life seems respectable. I loaded Civilization on and it runs fast. BUT... the ARM processor does not support critical applications for me. Like Virus Protection... Many of the mainstream vendors do not support ARM processors so you have to trust Microsoft(:-()). The Apple apps cannot be loaded (Apple TV, Music). There are only a few Adobe apps that work. I guess this is price you pay for being cutting edge. I have not played with AI functions yet.....

excellent - great screen, good keyboard, and trackpad. The OLED screen makes videos, games come alive. Great contrast with deep blacks, and vibrant colors. The snapdragon processor draws less power, so battery life is also excellent. Processor still performs well - can even run lower level games, along with all usual tasks.

Is better than previous Windows ARM iterations, but there is a way to go. Pros: -Screen is gorgeous -Battery life is amazing -It is snappy for the most part, fast, even recording and rendering videos it worked for my needs -The keyboard feels decent quality -The trackpad is nice Cons: -There will be compatibility issues, some programs did not work for me -Apparently some component qualities are not good, one of my USB ports went bad 6 months later -The fingerprint have a hard time and / or is very slow a lot of times, otherwise it would be a pro This is a better device overall compared to older windows ARM attempt laptops, performance is totally acceptable on all compatible programs I tried, but I feel the components on this device are not good quality at all, maybe i got a defective one idk, but I am not totally happy with it because this devices are expensive, I could have easily get more out of a MacBook Air for the same price but with the reliability that Apple provides. Period.
