One of the more stylish smart watches available. Only downside is that you have to have a compatible phone in order to use it.

This is definitely the first generation. Microphone on face of watch and speaker on back of band. You can't have any noise in the area where you are having the call. My volume is maxed out and it's still not enough, but you can tell that it is still over driving the speaker. I really like the idea of the design and hope they improve it in the future.

The watch phone over all is a very nice item. Easy to see. Use it as a watch, phone, camera, text with it. Over all. very nice. I would highly recommend it. It is a little pricey. But it's worth it.

We would give this a 4.5 stars (just short of a 5 because of the somewhat limited s-voice features) but can't quite figure out how to do the half in the overall rating!

Overall I love this Samsung Gear!! I should have waited for version 2 or 3 though. Love the Picture capture features, the capability that you can be notified on your wrist is cool, but the replying back to a text or other notification can't be done without S-voice or a canned message. I work fulltime in a busy emergency room and the battery life with minimal notifications it lasts 12 hours but on a busy day it doesn't make it through a 12 hr shift much less have any extended hours. There is very limited apps for the Gear. Also this Gear doesn't like the water near it. Just saying!

I really enjoy having this watch. Its very intuitive and easy to use. I haven't been able to look at what all I can do with it, but what I have done with it I have enjoyed. It's really nice to read my text messages if my hands are full. Whenever I receive a text message while my hands are full, I just tap it to my nose and look at what it says. The S Voice has a hard time understanding what I say when I try and reply, so I don't really use the S Voice too much, but I know Samsung is working to make it better. I think it is a great watch and more. Worth the 250 since people pay way more then that for just an analog watch.

The Gear with the latest software update is a very useful cell phone companion that delivers notifications to your wrist without the need to pull the phone. Also acts as an okay bluetooth phone (you can even make calls). For a first device its pretty good, but it portends to even better smart watches in the future.

Everyone was pretty harsh on this watch when it first came out. Upgrades on firmware are noticeable. I love it for the notifications. Don't have to go look at my phone when a text or email comes in. Can look at it on my watch. Also can answer calls and mic and speaker are quite adequate. Also S Voice works better than expected...can dial up contacts from watch and talk without needing to go to my phone. Great for hands free conversations!

Nice look and easy to use features but could use some more features. Makes communicating much easier and safer while driving. The one bug that needs fixing would be the talk to text for messaging always messes up messages with the wrong words.

This is a great companion to your smartphone. Most people's reaction is that "it costs too much", but this is a good price for a nice watch that only tells time. So for those who like watches, this is actually a great deal. If/when the price goes down I'll get a couple more colors. The only bad thing is that I really don't wear my other watches now.

The watch actually looks pretty stylish. Lots of people notice it and ask about it. I've experienced none of the negative things I've heard about this. The battery lasts about three days, I stick it on the charger every other night, just for a routine and it will charge super fast if needed. I haven't done anything dumb like shower with it on accident (yet) but the normal daily activities like washing your hands or running to your car in the rain have had zero effect. I work retail and occasionally have to do some pretty physical activity. It's been about a month and I haven't scratched or broke it yet. I'm sure I will at some point as I have with nearly every watch I've owned for the last 15 years. I purchased the protection plan which covers physical damage so I assume I'll be ok if/when that happens. Keeping all of that in mind, it's a toy. If you like new technology and have the money to burn, it's very cool. If you're expecting it to change your life, don't. This is the first generation, I'm sure years down the road (or sooner) it will do all the cool things we imagine, but for now, it's a novelty. I have no real complaints about it. The volume could be louder when making a call. I've answered it while driving (that's hands free right?) and had to turn the radio off and hold it up near my ear. I'm sure there will be more apps as time goes on and more functionality in programs like Facebook. But for now it's great to know who's calling you without pulling your phone out of your pocket or reading the text you just got while sitting in a meeting. Not to mention you could take some pretty "sneaky" pictures with the camera!

Purchased this for my 16 year old son for Christmas. He was totally excited to receive it and has enjoyed wearing and using it. A handy way to get notified of texts, etc. He also likes the volume control for music a lot. It is a little bulky but not bad and has been a fun, fairly useful accessory for him.

I got this for my mom and she likes it. The orange color might not be for everyone.

I love my Samsung gear! If my phone is in my purse there is no more digging around to find out who's calling or texting me. I l I've that you are able to pick up the call and talk right on the watch! The day planner is also excellent and I love the pedometer built right in

i got this for my boyfriend, he cant stop showing me and telling "look what i can do". i got the watch because he is a driver now i don't have to worry about him talking on the phone while driving, the watch mic/speakerphone is amazing, no static no break up, just perfect.
