Had issues at first but ended up OK

I went into Best Buy to pre-order the new iPhone and I ended up pre-ordering the new Note 4 based on the great sales job of the Samsung rep, and her knowledge of both phones and their OS’s. Within a week of receiving my new phone I started having issues with it locking up. I took it back to Best Buy and the rep there helped me by doing a software reset via the settings menu, this worked for about a day. I contacted Samsung online using their chat tool and this time did a hard reset using the up volume button, home key and holding down the power button, the Samsung tech support person said that this was better than going through the settings menu. That one lasted a little over a day. Since I was still having issues, working with Samsung again, I did yet another hard reset, this time I did not install any of my applications from the app store, leaving it exactly as it came from Samsung. On the fourteenth day, I got stuck in a reboot loop where it was rebooting about every few minutes, I checked with others in my area that had purchased the same phone and none of them were having the rebooting issue so it was not a software update as I was hoping it was. I was fed up, I took it into Best Buy to change it out for an iPhone. They worked on my Note performing a few more test, then sent me to another store that had the same model of Note that I had and did an exchange. I agreed to give this one another 14 day trial, after receiving my new note 4, I have not had any issues, and I like the phone for the most part. I am giving it 3 stars as there are still some things that simply do not work as well as they did on the iPhone.

    NOT HAPPY

Phone has not worked properly since the day I bought it. Connecting to any type of network was spotty, phone would close out of windows whenever it felt like it, the phone would slowly load pages (internet or something as simple as settings), the list goes on!

Taking the phone back. I had a note 2 for several years and loved it. Really looked forward to note 4. The phone would be an upgrade from the note 2, if not for the following issues. First and worst of all, sprint kills data, while simultaneously on a cell call. Therefore making the several multitasking windows useless. If this feature worked as it was designed by Samsung this phone would be awesome. However, now you cant be on the phone and use navigation at the same time. With note 2 and previous android phones , i have been enjoying this for years. I use the Internet on smartphone quite often for qork and it is important to be able to look things up while I'm on the phone. If you are on the go and don't have access to wifi the phone becomes worthless. Sprint suggested for me to return the unit, because they have no plans on fixing the issue anytime soon. The pen on the phone is awesome, multitasking windows would be awesome, could have several windows open at once while on speaker or Bluetooth. Battery us weak, nothing close to what is promised. If you use it as a smartphone, not just a decoration, have to recharge mid day. Vibration is very weak if in your pocket, nothing compared to note 2. Vibration is loud if on hard surface, but not strong when in pocket. Really disappointed, some features are an upgrade from note 2, other features are a downgrade. I had to carry an additional device such as pad or laptop.,which defeated the purpose of having a large smartphone. Similar feedback from my spouse, who also had this device. Same as the white one ny spouse has

I've had every Galaxy Note since the Note 2 and each time Samsung has been able to improve on a excellent phone. I could not imagine going back to and HTC or Apple product.

Love the device, but having to go through the trouble of sending it back to get it exchanged is never a fun process. External speaker sounds like nails scratching on a chalkboard. Wish best buy would of packaged it better!

Grrat device, but the sales associate may not mention a monthly plan increase. Rest assured there is a $15 term access charge on page 3 of the terms and conditions. It may be a $1 phone upgrade, but it'll cost you $360 over the 24 month term.
