Great Device
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are stuck on "no SD card and no changeable battery", just move along, there are plenty of other Android devices to choose from. If you want a powerful device with the best screen on the market, then go for it. I picked up the Note 5 from BestBuy, as they have the best deal right now, and I cannot put it down.

It's meh
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this phone for about a year now. I must say it was pretty impressive at first big screen for videos, camera, mutitasking windows, and battery life. Now I've seen flaws over time it's a pretty clunky thing it can be unresponsive. When you swipe down at the top of the phone to pull up your settings and wifi it will get confused and make your window smaller thinking you want to open another window. I mean the LG touch I bought back in highschool had better touch screen response then this thing at times. Pros Video quality off the charts Battery life Camera Speakers aren't bad for being on the back of the phone Good for texting Screen is durable for your clumsy people Cons Pretty clunky Sims card has gone out on me and had to disassemble the back and pull it out and clean the card. This has happened 4 times. It's just an ok phone nothing to write home about

Signal strength poor
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Replaced my Mother's Old Galaxy 3 in July and not happy with this one at all. Worked fine for 3 weeks in her cement walled Az home. Now her calls are breaking up terribly until she goes outside! Many calls to Samsung and Verizon later, basically told it's her problem. Signal strength at 96 in her home sitting by a window! The old Samsung 3 worked fine in same home. Probably going back to old phone since she's 83 and very upset with it.

I have been a Galaxy Note business user 4 years
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been a Galaxy Note phone user for business applications for years. I have to admit I was apprehensive about the Note 5 getting away from the external SD card and built in battery. I was planning on upgrading to a Note 4 instead. I was playing with the phone at Best Buy and decided the upgrades to the phone outweighed the change in battery and loss of the external SD card. The Screen resolution was worth skipping the Note 4 and waiting for the Note 5. However, in my opinion the S-Pen upgrades is where the real story is here. The S-Pen functionality has been extended to enable use in pretty much all applications such as texting, calendar, contacts, etc. The S-Pen air command now allows you to add any app you wish into the air command open pop up which I think is huge. That saves several extra steps for some of the apps I use on a regular basis. The S-Pen has better handwriting recognition and is even more responsive. It actually feels and sounds like you're writing on a piece of note book paper using #2 pencil. Minor detail but it's pretty cool just the same. The cordless charging option is wonderful too. I was really interested in the 128 GB version but I understand that may be up to a year away. I have used Galaxy Note phones for years in a heavy business application and would be truly lost without it. If you waiting on an upgrade it's well worth the wait!! If you're on the fence regarding the battery and SD card in my opinion the improvements outweigh the loss of removable battery and external sd card. If you've never had a Galaxy Note phone and thinking about the stylist once you go Note 5 you'll never go back to a regular phone. The stylist (S-Pen) is just that fantastic. I have to give a big hand to Addison at the St. Peters Best Buy location. He really took excellent care of me the day prior to release and the this morning when I was first in line to pick up my phone. Michael and the rest of the Samsung specialist at the St. Peters, Mo. location have been absolutely wonderful to work with as well.

Great Phone with Excellent Features
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was an upgrade from my Galaxy 5S. I really liked that phone, but this is a significant move up. First, the finger print reader is 100% better. Merely place finger on pad versus swiping it as before. Very quick to recognize your print. Screen resolution is gorgeous, but most importantly for me it has an excellent battery life. I do not stream video and music very often, so that would have to be factored in if you do. I mainly use for phone, email, and surfing the net. Under those parameters, the battery comfortably lasts all day. It is a BIG phone, so know that before you buy. Wearing it on a belt holster makes for a large object on your hip! I was happy to adjust to that size as a trade for the bigger screen for business use.

Hardware Powerhouse
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First let me start of by saying that Samsung did a great job with choosing the processor and amount of RAM in this device. The speed is just ridiculous for a phone there are tablets and laptops slower than this phone. The camera takes flawless front and back pictures. The slow mo feature i love with my active kids. The OK Google option works great on this phone(no need to get an S like iphone). Multitasking is done right with this phone with many options on how you want the layout. All in all most bad reviews are either a lemon or a user error.

Huge upgrade from iPhone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was looking to upgrade an iPhone 4s to 6 Plus for the bigger display and recently came across the $1 Note 5 Ultimate Test Drive offer from Samsung which I signed up for. After extensively testing and comparing I ended up buying the Note 5 for the following reasons. Initial impression is the display, design, color and materials are strikingly beautiful. Note 5 has a larger 5.7" display but the phone is physically smaller and more pocketable than the 5.5" iPhone 6 Plus. The pen is really useful as I'm always jotting down notes that can sync to cloud so they're easily retrievable and not lost. With 4GB of DRAM I can have more browser tabs opened without reloading and without using up my data cap as compared to iPhones with only 1GB DRAM or less that are always reloading Safari tabs. Also, can run more apps and a big difference is they continue to run in the background like how they do on a laptop instead of being suspended in the background on iPhone. Overall, Note 5 feels more like an easier pocketable Surface Pro 3 while the iPhones haven't evolved much and still feel like a bigger iPod. If you sign up for Samsung Ultimate Test Drive you get $100 of Google Play credit so you don't have to repurchase all your apps out of pocket.

Simply the Best, Ever.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well, now that S7 is out, people might start discounting this phone, but seriously, that isn't due until the Note 6 comes out. Note > S series all day. S-pen is that important. The phone is sexier than ever, ultra crisp screen which samsung never disappoints with, good battery life, GREAT charging options, the native wireless/fast charging is just DOPE. I have never actually plugged my phone into a USB charger as I always have the wireless charger set up on my desk. It lasts a long time, too. Great cameras, and...if you own an iPad, do yourself a favor and get an android phone..seriously. Why own a mini iPad? Oh, and the best feature is SAMSUNG PAY. Simply amazing.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.wait for the 6. this model does not have a sim card to expand memory and it is annoying to be reminded repeatedly that you can purchase space in the cloud.

Awful
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this phone just over a year and the Digitizer has Failed. To Replace it the Cost would be around $260.00. Just about what is Owed on the Phone. It seems to me that if a Manufacturer of any Product Cannot produce it to last more than 1.4 Years then why would one want to Pay over $600.00 for it. It's almost like they Force you into Paying for Insurance so that they can add another $20.00 a Month.

Most awesome phone you can buy.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this phone 5 days ago and i simply cant put it down. This phone is amazing and without writing about every little feature(then this would be a manual) and besides..already 137 reviews on here..so ill just touch on my opinion keeping in mind you are reading this because you are thinking about buying this phone. In a nut shell this thing is the most awsome samsung device i have ever bought and ive purchased a lot of samsung products. The screen display and camera are by far the absolute best ive ever seen on a cell phone.Other things like the fingerprint security feature, voice recognition and verbal commands, like ability to say "call john" ,and many many other features on this phone make this a truly incredible phone. AT first i was a little doubtful about paying this much for the phone but after 5 solid days of playing with it and testing out the camera i must say if something happened to it ,I would go out and buy another one TODAY! The guys at best buys in destin florida were really busy but they really knew their stuff and very very impressive. love that store. my advice...GO GET ONE.

Great phone, Love Samsung!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just upgraded from the Note 3 and I love the updates. Battery life seems about the same, maybe a little improvement. Screen is much better especially in direct sunlight. The camera is better than any other smartphone I tested. My only complaint is now I cannot use the internet while on a call, which I used to be able to do on the note 3. Overall I am very satisfied!

Galaxy note phone from best buy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sold me a Verizon phone on t-mobile plan that didn't work so I paid 50 dollars for month of t-mobile that I couldn't use and still had to go to Verizon plan after. Stopped working after 3 days.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After three days the phone would not let me make phone calls or text, not even when I was on my home wifi. It was constant updates and charging this phone. Took it back and will never get another one.

Two Steps Forward, One Step Back
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I *like* this phone, I am disappointed, however, in some of the design choices that Samsung made. I am a huge fan of the Note line and purchased the Note 5 to replace my aging Note 3. The phone is fast and handles everything I throw at it. With 4 GB of Ram, it is a workhorse. The phone is slightly narrower than my old Note 3, but it is easier to hold even if the text is slightly smaller as a result. My complaints? No removable SD card, No removable battery and Samsung, in its infinite wisdom decided to remove the IR blaster so no more Peel Smart Remote for me! Bummer! Great phone, but Samsung please don't take away features that your customers love!!!

First Smartphone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was gifted this item as part of my graduation and Christmas gift. This is my first smartphone and I am enjoying it thus far. My family know that I am more of a Samsung person, and they decided on the tablet base, that way I can also use this device for school when needed. Despite Apple products being user friendly, I had little difficulty thus far is using this device. The camera feature is clear, as well as the calendar, alarm, and fitness apps are a plus. I do not use my device that much, so do not need to charge it that often, and I also manage to save my battery during the day by dimming the light and closing all features/apps once done with them (some people may forget to do so after everyday). As my first smartphone, I am not complaining so it is understandable that I may be bias toward this particular product when have nothing to compare it to.
