Better than my old Galaxy Note 2

The screen of my new Samsung Galaxy Note 5 isn't a whole lot bigger than my Note 2 but it's brighter and the picture is better. The Note 5 is also faster than my old phone. Going from Kitkat to Lollipop required an adjustment but I got used to the new OS in a couple of days. I do miss swapping batteries and having a micro SD card. I feel confident that the 64GB will see me through. Bottom line, it's a solid performer.

Love this phone. Larger size makes display a little easier to read. Processor is fast. Camera is excellent with outstanding mode and edit features. Note taking is SO easy with instant access when stylus is pulled out and save to s note. Fast and convenient.

If it is so very good why not five stars? Sorry, Samsung, gotta ding ya a star because there is no replacement battery. AND what good is super-fast memory, Samsung's excuse for no replaceable SD card, when the connection to the phone is USB 2? AND you took away MHL support. Why the powerful graphics if I can't show them off on a big screen with a hardwire? There is WiFi Direct as an alternative, but this reviewer has not tried. A wired solution leaves the WiFi radio free to snag WiFi. Furthermore, the ability to use the Web while speaking on the phone, a business essential that my old Note 2 could do while on 4g is no more. So what remains has to be pretty darn good to make up for the aforementioned disappointments and so it is. The battery with real world use, GPS'ing and blutoothing streaming music to the car stereo, and the occasional call yields about 8 hours. It recharges from there in about 75 minutes with the special included rapid charger. Unlike its predecessors, it can still charge up when tasking all of the above at once on an ordinary car charger. The Note 2 would not gain a charge or would do so very slowly under this kind of load. The camera is superior in low light and amazing in brighter environments. Phone calls are crisp and land line-ish. I can walk all around the hotel room or suite with the blue tooth keeping a clear connection in ear and the phone on the dresser while unpacking and keeping in touch with back home. The stylus has learned new tricks and is a bit easier to organize notes. Stylus to text is the best of all the Notes. Pulling the stylus and writing a note on a locked screen is fantastic. An unexpected bonus was the FM tuner; a nice touch when outside or at the beach wanting to keep up with some live sports. Response wise the phone is fast and goes through screens rapidly and smoothly. Apparently it is an S6 Plus with a stylus. Both good phones. Both missing a few things. But the Note 5 filled the need to replace an aging Note 2. Personal campaign: stop shrinking the phones already. I don't care to have the thinnest. I don't think one reader here would mind their phone being a scootch thicker in exchange for more battery time; or, a replaceable one.

A great phone, after owning it for about a month and playing around with it i find that it is much faster than its predecessor and that is a good thing. Sure they share the same screen but you can't really get better than this any time soon. A lot of handy things such as changing themes and using the pen to write on your screen with or without the screen being on in the first place is cool. If your screen is off and you take out the pen to write on it then it will give you a black background. This is also capable of screen-writing and that is far out cool too, i use this feature a lot, Whether it be to point something out or to take a note about a post or web page or even just draw when you are bored. It does a good job. The SIM card is removable and is on the top of the phone. The only features i don't like is, unlike my note 4, the battery is not removable and that the SD card cannot be upgraded since it is vacuum sealed or whatever. Would definitely recommend this phone to anyone looking to upgrade or get a phone!

Upgraded from a galaxy s5 and I'm loving it. Battery life is great for me. The only thing I dont like is there's no sd slot but 64gb is good enough for me. Great design and the camera is the best Ive seen in smartphones. I was gonna get the edge plus but decided for this because of the S pen which is pretty fun to use. I would give this a 5 star rating if it had an sd slot and ir blaster but I can live without those features but they would have been nice and I dont really care about a removable battery since Ive never had to swap batteries in any of my previous galaxy phones. If you're thinking of upgrading to this from a note 4 I recommend sticking with the note 4

At first I was bothered for removing the IR blaster and the SD slot. But I realized after 3 months of use that I didn't really needed them.Ir was used 3 times in one year with note 4. And I already have a cloud contract with One drive. So I am covered. Samsung also gives you extra cloud space with One Drive. The phone is fast, responsive, has new features. I love the new android, love the looks of it. Wireless charging is my new way. Helps a lot. Speaker is very loud, but I would love to see a two side stereo speaker system. Photos are Awsome!!!!Do not forget to download extra modes. Very crispy, clear, the best night shots, videos. Great double click home button that gets you to camera. The phone is great. Very fast, very smart, and a totally new great S-pen. Don't hesitate in buying it.

I really like this phone. Great price! Fast, easy to use. Lots of room. My only complaint is the lack of an SD card slot. We take lots of photos and would like them stored on a card for extra room on phone. Google Photos helps with that. I thought the battery being sealed would be bad, but I can get almost a day without a charge. Fast charge is a great feature.

Screen resolution is awesome, battery life is great, super fast speed, very user friendly. I upgraded from a Galaxy S5, so it was pretty easy to get used to. Sad there isn't a removable battery or micro sd card slot, but it wasn't a deal breaker for me. I love the lightning fast charger, but I HATE the headphones it came with. The ones that came with the S5 were the best I ever got out of a box that I didn't have to replace. I also wish it was water resistant like the S5, but only because I'm really rugged with my phones. So far I've dropped it a couple times & it's been sturdier than I expected.

This is my first Samsung phone. I love the size and feel. The camera is excellent! Some complaints I read are not problems for me. The speaker is very loud even though it is on the bottom of the phone. The battery can't be removed which is no problem as my last phone was that way also. Seems to have good battery life and charges fast. Many desirable features which i am still exploring. No sim card slot. No problem as my last phone didn't have one either and it was only 32 gb. With 64 gb i probably won't need it. Overall I like the phone so far. Just need to get more comfortable with it as with any new gadget. I think i made a good choice.

This is my 3rd galaxy. I love it. Things to know.Wake up alarm no longer does the music intro to the alarm...I miss that. I REALLY wish they still had the IR blaster. Could be me but I can't seem to be able to close individual web pages like I could on my S5 Love the battery life, love the S pen. Great for taking digital sticky notes. Cool things with the camera...there are two ways to quickly access the camera and it is fast.. 64 gig gives me the space that I need. The processor is fast and very responsive even with sometime having 10+ apps running at the same time. Yup...I love it.

Pros: Slim and light weight. The screen is good and over all it is user friendly. Love the feature for one hand use. The battery seems to last quite a while and even with excessive use it lasts until the end of the day. The camera is vastly improved (finally!). The Microsoft programs are a definite added benefit. I really enjoy the fact that it unlocks when connected to my car Bluetooth so I don't have to type my password. Cons: I haven't found a way to add custom words to the dictionary nor does it seem to want to learn words I type frequently. Correctly spelled typed words are underlined as misspelled yet are correct if done by voice. If I type at a steady pace and need to capitalize a word it capitalizes and then reverts back to lower case so I have to type the word over again. The S Voice hardly EVER works. This device has more RAM over the S4 yet even though I have all the same apps the memory usage is still over 80% on average. Overall it is a nice device and hopefully a software update will solve some of these issues.

Upgraded to the Note 5 from a S5. Both nice phones but the Note 5 processor speed and camera is something else. I have it for a month now and is a very nice phone. Battery life for my use habits is extremely good. Also the fast charging where it goes from 10% to 100% in half an hour is great feature. The size and quality of the screen is also great for my old eyes. Samsung transferring application duplicated my old S5 to the new Note 5 in a matter of a few minutes. All texts and attachments transferred right away from the old to the new phone. Did not even have to go to Best Buy for the setup, I did it all by myself.

Have had every note phone since day they became available. Not to keen about no sd card but understandable being I have lost files/pics from sd card going bad. So far no complaints. Great battery life if not on it continously. Pics/videos/movies are amazing quality.

When I decided to upgrade from a S4 to the Note5 I was skeptical of it at first due to the size and the fact that its all internal storage now. But I absolutely love this phone. The stylist is a awesome tool. Great battery life, beautiful screen, great camera, easy to use. All around by far my favorite Samsung product

Although a bit big at first glance the Note 5 is a great phone. The ease of use and multiple applications for business on the go has made this one a winner for me. Super fast and lots of storage for the money. Not to mention the awesome camera for stills and video. Very pleased with this phone!!!
