Having had my Iphone 6 for almost five years, I knew it was about time to purchase a new phone. I had been doing research on the new lines of phones that had come out recently, and had my eye on both the Iphone XR and the Samsung Note 9. After scouring reviews on multiple websites, I decided to stop browsing and just go into the store and try them out for myself. As an Iphone user for much of my life, I started out in the Apple section and tried out the newest models. The navigation and apps were already known to me and part of me wanted to just go with an Iphone because it would be less of a hassle to transfer things from my old phone. I was also worried about having to learn the ropes all over again on a completely new operating system, which again further pushed me toward settling for an Iphone.
This all changed as soon as I had the Samsung Note 9 in my hand. The phone is gorgeous, and the screen plus camera quality were breathtaking. As I played around with the pre-loaded apps and the stylus, I noticed that the price was discounted due to the newer Samsung phones that had just come out. This was a deal that I couldn't turn down. The amount of phone you get for the price you get it at is unbeatable. The phone is incredibly fast and customizable to a point that the Iphone could never match. Sure, there was a learning curve on how to maneuver around the phone and learn the new apps and such, but it is completely worth it. I find new features and customizable options in this phone almost everyday and it continually makes it a better experience overall when compared to the Iphone. The battery life is incredible. After using it almost nonstop for the first two days, I was still left with 40% battery, which absolutely blew my mind. The stylus is great for quickly jotting down notes and even allows you to snap pictures from your phone without touching the screen. Overall, I am incredibly satisfied with my purchase and am so glad that I made the decision to switch to the Note series.
If you are in any way thinking of switching to the Note 9 from an Iphone, I would highly advise you to do so, you won't be disappointed!

I thought the S7 Edge was terrific, but Samsung has outdone themselves with the Note 9.
1) CAMERA: I no longer have to edit my shots to make them lighter, nor edit out the flash reflection when I take pics of my computer screen (this is with both phones set to AUTO).
2) BATTERY: I don't have to recharge during the day anymore - superior power!
3) BEAUTY: The images are crisp, clean and bright - simply gorgeous colors.
4) S-PEN: Downright fun and easy to use. I now can run my PowerPoints on my phone.
5) SIZE: I LOVE the larger screen and changes to the sensor, etc. It took no time at all to adjust to these physical changes.
6) MIGRATING BETWEEN PHONES: Transferring all of my pictures-contacts-music-files from my S7 Edge was about as easy as it gets with the Samsung's Smart Switch Mobile app. No cables needed!
I'm still learning some of the other features, but I am TOTALLY BLOWN AWAY with this phone! Well Done!

This is the first phone from the Note line that I have purchased, and all of my expectations have been blown away during the first 3 weeks of ownership.
I am a longtime Samsung user, and after toying with the idea of trying out the Pixel 3 XL for some time, I am glad I decided to stay true to Samsung's flagships.
The main reason I chose the Note over the Pixel is simple; the Note has a headphone port and a MicroSD slot. These two things were enough of a reason for me to choose the Note, but they are not the reason I have fallen in love with the phone.
Again, this is the first phone from the Note line that I have owned, and if I had known what I was missing from the S Pen I would have switched long ago. This is the most accurate and realistic stylus I have ever used and it has truly made me a more organized person by allowing for easy note taking and list making.
The phone is quick and snappy, with 6GB of ram and 128GB of storage should be future proof for a long time coming. The screen is beautiful and bright, and the battery is best in class and the best I have ever experienced from any smartphone. The camera takes excellent photos, even in low light.
Overall I have no complaints as of yet with the Note9, I will update if that changes.
Buy it; you won't regret it.

I have a long history of using Samsung Notes. I've avoided upgrading from my Note 5 because I tend to be clumsy and drop my phone sometimes and I haven't been a lover of the idea of a curved screen. But, I was running out of room on my old phone with a pretty dated processor. I have to say, so far I'm in love! The battery life is incredible, processing time is very fast, the camera is amazing, I already use Samsung Pay everywhere and can continue, and it does great at sizeable and movable split screens and other multitasking. The stylus, which writes on the off screen in bright yellow, is actually powered by a capacitor instead of a battery (kind of like back to the future)! So, if it runs out of juice, it takes about 45 seconds of reinserting to get to a full charge. I would highly recommend the Note 9 to everyone.

I definitely recommend this phone, as it has a great camera for taking pictures, taking videos, ect. If your a gamer then this is a great phone, as it can handle many games and run them on great quality. The screen is good sized and it fits in most pockets. The finger print sensor works very well and is easy to access, as it is right under the camera so right when you grab your phone you can pick it up and easily access the fingerprint sensor to unlock your phone. The smart pen that comes with the phone is very easy to access, as it is right next to the charging port and all you have to do is push down on the pen and it will pop out so you can grab it. The features are really nice too, there is a whole menu of what you can pick it to do and when your in camera you can just hit the button on the side of the pen once and it will take a picture. The phone has an edge and it comes with edge features so that means you can swipe over from the edge and there will be a list of 10 apps you can have quick access to and its fully customizable. Over all this phone is a great phone.

This is now my 4th Samsung Galaxy phone device and first Galaxy Note device.
Overall, this thing has great horsepower and switches applications quickly and with aplomb. I'm optimistic that Android updates will start picking up as Samsung starts to address that problem hands on.
The device is a bit too large for my medium-large hands. Do be aware that case choice will be really important - too large a case and you really won't be able to use this one-handed.
Screen clarity and colors are really fantastic. Pictures of fall foliage in New Mexico (no, I didn't know that was a thing either) looked true to life from the camera. Camera, also, is really fantastic and easily as good or better as an iPhone XS.
I was excited to try out the note and stylus. However, the ALMOST BEST feature is the screen-off note-taking... that ONLY works with Samsung notes software - what? I use a different app for note-taking, and it seems like screen off can't be configured for that. That said, the stylus design (though necessarily small) and its pressure sensitivity is really well done.
What I really, really dislike are the curved screen edges. Most apps don't respect the edges and one has to activate buttons on edges, which can be a little difficult to do. Furthermore, when using the phone you almost have to have a case to keep from actiivating things on the edges accidentally. I'm hoping Samsung puts this "feature" to pasture soon.
I was worried about activating Bixby with the dedicated button accidentally a lot - fortunately, that does not seem to be a problem at all.

I waited out to see if Samsung would release more colors as the Blue and Purple weren't really colors that I wanted. I'm glad I did. I found out that they were releasing black/black (snore) and a cloud silver. My interest was piqued. I was on the fence between this phone and the Pixel 3...not XL. My HTC 10 was showing its age with needing at least 3 charges to last a full day of use. I waited for the deals to show up and snagged one before BF. It wasn' the "best" deal but it was the best deal at the time. I'm glad I jumped back to Samsung. My phone prior to the HTC10 was a Note 4 and that was a work horse for at least 2 years if I'm not mistaken. I don't upgrade yearly so when I was finally jumping ship to a new phone I did my research and I'm glad I did. This new Note 9 is beyond fast but of course I'm comparing this to my HTC10 on SD820. The stylus is a nice welcome back for me and the new added features of the bluetooth functionality is awesome. Camera quality is great, phone is fast (for now), and the screen is crisp. I can tell I'll be with this phone for at least the next 2 years. As long as the deals are out there I'd definitely recommend this phone to anybody looking to go large form factor.

This phone is crazy awesome .. phone expert Andrew helped me pick it out but I research phones like crazy before I purchase and I've had this phone for 2 weeks .. I had original note then the 2 and 4 then s7edge my wife and Inlaws and stepdaughter have always rocked the newest iphones... yes there are newer phones with triple or quadruple cameras but in my opinion none are better than this note 9... I'm absolutely blown away by the quality photos and within week and 2 days of purchase thru verizon at best buy which I got the phone for 300 off but it also got a phone update that added a night mode to the already impressive cameras ... the night mode is fantastic I've taken photos unable to barely see with my eyes and in the photo you see all kinds of stuff ... but back to my family's phones.... none of theirs touch the photo quality of this beast... oh yea forgot it also has best screen on any phone ... my opinion best dual stereo speakers on any phone.. I'm a mailman and when walking on my route I always listen to music thru my previous phones.. this thing is so loud and clear it constantly puts a smile on my face even had a few customers ask me where music is coming from... I'm not a gamer but when watching vids thru YouTube or Netflix even my two boys couldn't believe how loud it is and its ip68 in case it goes for a swim and just gives me peace of mind... used different phones looked at many and played with em in best buy while lookin.. yea the note 10plus has another couple cameras but it doesnt have a headphone Jack or expandable storage.. the note 9 does... to me it's the best of the best.... and also... pretty cool for takin s pen out then setting up phone a ways away and use the s pen to snap photos ... super cool feature!! This phone is a beast!!!! Also I added zagg screen protector and otterbox defender case when I purchased phone .. the phone expert andrew installed the screen protector perfectly and in case anyone wondering best buy matched prices on both of them case and protector and in doing so I got them both for price of just the defender I do miss built in screen protector on older defenders but again with them matching this is stronger set up and better fit then the old ones with it built in... this phone feels bulletproof!! Thanks Best Buy....I and my family will continue to get all our electronics thru you guys!!

I don't know what to say that hasn't been said already. This cell can really do so much more then every other cell phone. It's fast. It's cool and groovy. That S-Pen just makes it so much better. Did I mention the S-Pen has Bluetooth capabilities? Well if I haven't then let it be known that it does. The sound is so clear and distinct. Don't even get me started on the screen!!! (Very, Very Nice!) Oh and one last thing.... minimum of 128 gigs of storage and that's before you add more with a tiny sd card......Nuff' Said! (Little ode to the man himself, Stan Lee!)

This thing is a beast when it comes to battery. I've been getting anywhere from 12 to 16 hours of battery life (I have a lot of stuff running in the background).
Such a difference in performance and capability when coming from the S7 from 2016. The camera is pretty good, the 2x optical zoom is really nice to have.
The S Pen is really nice too. I haven't had the battery die on me yet, but if it did I think I could still write since it'd be the Bluetooth LE capabilities that wouldn't work without the battery.
Very nice phone.

I purchased this phone in 2018 and it's been going strong ever since. The speed of the phone hasn't slowed down at all. The display is great of course from Samsung phones and the build quality as well. I've dropped this phone multiple times (with a case of course) and it's survived.
I was worried when I first bought it, because Samsung lag used to be an issue. Meaning after about a year or so, Samsung phones used to slow down and lag while doing everyday tasks like using Maps, etc. There has been no lag on this phone whatsoever from the day that I purchased it. With 6GB of RAM I can see why. Only the very rare and occasional app crashes which happen on every phone.
I honestly could keep this phone for another year or two and be perfectly happy if I wanted to.
I actually use the S-pen daily to take notes at work and it's very useful although a lot of people don't use it. It comes in handy not only for note taking but also for taking remote selfies. You can place the phone on a table etc., and hold the s-pen from across the room to take a picture, or if you need to take a photo in a hard to reach area, just hold the phone with one hand and press the button on the s-pen with the other.
The few things I would change if I could is Samsung's software. I've owned previous Samsung devices like the S7 before this, and I hate their icons. They just look so cartoon-ish. It's not much of an issue because I use Nova Launcher and replace all the icons, but it would be nice not having to use a third party launcher. Granted some people like their icons. They have come a long way on the software front since the touchwiz days.
The camera is great and fast, although there are probably 3 or 4 phones with better cameras nowadays since this phone is from 2018.

For me its not about the size, but that is nice at times, but instead the powerhouse functionality. Between the all day battery even during extremely high usage, the business no brainer stylus, and the horsepower to tackle anything you ask of it plus some, you have the total package here. I upgraded from the S7 Edge and it's a massive improvement, though the price is unfortunate. Should you upgrade if you have a note 8... Probably not, but this is the best phone out right now for all in one coverage.

I know there are radical phone designs on their way in 2019, but my V20 ran out of life and I knew I needed a flagship device with none of those ugly notches. Cue the Note 9.
Going from a 2 year old phone I thought I wouldn't notice much of a difference, but I was quickly proved wrong. The screen is mind blowing good. So bright, so high res, the OLED technology in this phone is outstanding. The camera is phenomenal. I can't believe how much natural light it has in the dark, and how bright the colors can be in direct sunlight. And the speed is incredible. Say Hey Google and the phone is instantly ready for your question.
One big change for me was going to a non removable battery. I know most people already deal with this, but I wanted to point out that the battery so far lasts full work days with a lot of use, usually ending the day with about 50% battery remaining.
I have nothing bad to say about this phone. I dont see myself using all of its features, but the fact that none are shoving themselves in my face is a nice change from my last Galaxy product years ago, the S4. And what little bloatware comes on this phone (Yahoo apps) can be uninstalled.
If you're looking for the best of the best with no compromises, look no further

I had one of the early Notes many years ago and wasn't a fan. I thought the pen and supporting software was a bit clunky at the time. Since then, my last six phones have been Galaxy S products.
I was due an upgrade over the holidays and Best Buy was offering $400 off the Note 9 with no trade in, which was a great deal and a better offer than going directly through Verizon. I decided to give the Note 9 a try.
Overall my experience with the Note 9 has been great. I like the slightly larger screen, compared to my old S8+. The phone doesn't feel that much bigger in my hand or in my front pants pocket.
The battery life is a significant improvement over the S8+. I used to get maybe 8 hours of use out of my S8+. With the Note 9, I can go all day and night on a single charge.
The new S pen and software is really where this phone shines. Being able to easily mark up pictures with notes on the fly is great for work. I also really like the ability to use the pen as a remote to take a photo or advance slides in a PowerPoint presentation.
Most of the other phone features are very similar to my S8+. I'd definitely recommend this phone for someone looking to upgrade, if you can get a good deal on it.

I have been a die hard Samsung fanboy for years and have owned two other notes. The note 9 does not disappoint. I am a medium volume user and the battery lasted all day without charging and I usually still have 30 - 40 % by the time I go to bed. It's very quick, great screen, large amount of storage. It's a little bulky, which might put off some people, but that should be expected with a phablet

I got the Note 9 and it came out of the box with no problems. It was a breeze activating. I just followed on screen instructions. The camera is the best one I've ever seen or had on a phone. I love being able to hook up to Samsung products. Also you can connect your phone to two bluetooth devices at once. I dont find myself using the pen all the time but it is very nice to have. I think it'll come in handy taking odd angles pictures. I like Bixby and the bright very clear screen. Overall the phone is a goat. I'll take it over an iPhone all day. I find it to be a superior product. And I am an ex apple user! Do buy a case to protect your investement as it's not a moto.

So this is a very solid device-literally and figuratively. It is big, and a bit heavy, but packs a lot under the hood. I was wavering between this and the Pixel 3 XL and ultimately chose this for 2 reasons: expandable storage, and the Best Buy employee (Greg) couldn't say enough great things about it. I upgraded from a GS7 (with which I was VERY disappointed) and was a bit nervous about another Galaxy product, but thus far it is working as advertised. Great security features (swipe, PIN, fingerprint, etc.), sound is superb, fast, nice screen, expandable storage (a feature that is becoming more and more rare). I got it on a decent sale too, lower than Verizon wanted to charge so all the better. I've had it for just about a month now and I've been impressed.
