This is a great Phone. The Samsung Galaxy s4 active is a extremely well designed phone. Looks great with it's large HD screen. The reason I am giving this phone one star is that it come with AT&T software installed. At first I didn't think it would big deal. However when I tried to use my phone as a hot spot I got an error message saying "No data network or invalid SIM". I did some research in found out it is the AT&T software blocking turning on the hot spot. In order to use the hotspot you have to root the phone and disable the AT&T "hotspotteather" file in the operating system. Also I have not been able to update the Android OS from jellybean to kitcat, I suspect it is because I am not a AT&T subscriber. when I try to check for up dates, it says "download interrupted" then it puts up a timer and says you can check for updates is 24 hours. Since the OS won't up date I am having issues using my Galaxy Gear. I can receive calls and take pictures. but I can't place calls, get notifications, or get weather on the galaxy gear. .I am not an AT&T subscriber and never will be. This might be a good phone if you are a AT&T customer. BestBuy should mention some where in the description that this is an AT&T phone.

I purchased this after I had a standard S4 for 2 years, which I gave to a friend for a holiday present. The active is more rugged, but otherwise just as high quality as the older S4, and much more cost effective, and unlike the new S7, with a replaceable battery.

I bought this phone for a quick inexpensive replacement phone. Have had a few problems, had the firmware updated at Best Buy, works much better but the battery goes dead very fast Samsung wants me to send phone and battery to be tested, will take 2 to 3 weeks. This phone has not been a quick replacement

The phone charger got peel in less than 3 days, I went to the store to see what they can do , but they say they can't do anything.

Sturdily built and suitable for heavy use.camera is good enough.

Phone locks up multiple times per day and must be restarted. I am merely a few days past the 14 day return period so Best Buy will not replace the phone. Luckily, I purchased the Geek Squad protection. However, this will only get me a refurbished phone and this particular phone is out of stock. The options provided to me for a resolution are disappointing. Not impressed Best Buy.
