I have had a lot of smartphones. This one is the best yet. Good battery life, it's fast, the bluetooth is great for steaming music, and the camera is top notch too. I've had it for a month now and I love it so far.

Not the bridge of the Starship Enterprise...

This phone is not the bridge of the Starship Enterprise; but it'll do for now. I've held off for four years to finally get my 'smart phone' not because I didn't understand the technology or was afraid to make a change from something that clearly was working; but, because the technology wasn't as smart as "I" needed it to be. (I'll never understand some individuals' need to change or eliminate something, that isn't broken, for something that isn't any better, or worse - WORSE.) And it still isn't as smart as I need it to be. The biggest reason I switched was because they are starting to make the phones bigger not smaller. I calculated that this was the right time to switch were I could sort of have the best of both worlds. In another 4 - 6 years I'll take another look at the technology and decide if it's caught up to me yet before I buy into whatever the latest craze is at that time. In the mean time, this phone is performing adequately and to my expectations of it. When it exceeds my expectations, I'll be the first in line waiting to buy the newest release!

I am extremely happy with this phone. Good battery life. Great camera. Very user friendly. Phone is bigger than the 4 but the screen is the same size. Took a little getting use to the size but with a thin case it is not too bulky.

I was going to wait to upgrade from my Galaxy S3 to an S5 when I could purchase the phone for $1. Best Buy had it on sale just at the time when my 2 1/2 year old S3's battery would not last but 1/2 a day so I then decided that it was time to upgrade. The S5's battery can sometimes last me 2 full days...especially when I use my Gear Fit watch to preview my messages from the phone. The phone is a bit more responsive then the S3 and I could upgrade to Lollypop 5.0 with no problem. So if you are in the market for a new phone I would definitely recommend the S5....but you could also wait for the S6...it will be out soon.

One of the Best Android Phones on the Market

I am a long time iPhone user. I recently traded in my iPhone 5 for the Galaxy S5. This phone was easy to set up and convert. The UI is different from the iPhone, but is very user friendly. There is a lot of bloatware installed on the phone, depending on your service there can be a lot more--Verizon), but most of the applications are easily deactivated. The touch screen is highly responsive and what you would expect from any modern smart phone. The display is bright, crisp, and colors are vibrant. Easy to read in low light and daylight. The phone is large and is fantastic for games or streaming video. The screen size puts it just smaller than a mini tablet, and the device runs like one. The processor is comparable to the fastest phones currently available and I noticed no lag between performance from the iPhone 5 and the Galaxy S5. I have not had a chance to really use the camera or video features, but from what I have seen and used it is a huge performance upgrade and higher quality than the iPhone 5. Overall, this is a fantastic phone and a great upgrade from previous devices. I spent many hours researching the phone before purchase and chose it over the HTC One (M8) due to the removable battery, water/dust resistance, QI Capabilities--which are sadly not on the base install but a new back and charger pad can be purchased, and brand (more accessory options available).

The water resistant feature makes the Galaxy S5 a great phone. The camera takes awesome pictures. The only downside is the charging port. It is different from former Galaxy phones and needs a different charger that isn't always easy to insert. But that wouldn't stop me from buying this phone again.

I bought this phone as a birthday gift. It has a lot ofgray features, such as the camera, personalization options, and it's very fast. The guy who helped did an awesome job. We got free apps, bags, shirts, plus took advantage of all the deals Best Buy had on the s5, including free battery pack with the flip cover. My husband and I both love our phones and plan to purchase through best buy in the future. The only thing I don't like on the camera is holding the phone still until it's done taking the picture. Otherwise, great!

This phone is more than I expected. I love the larger screen. It's not too big to fit in my hand easily. This phone is not a phablet. I love how you can customize the apps on the bottom of the screen (home row). The camera takes excellent pictures, just remember you have to let the camera focus before taking the picture. Otherwise, the photo will turn out fuzzy. I think the display is great, but I am disappointed with the fact that I can't use full brightness without the phone becoming incredibly hot. I use the Auto brightness feature to avoid the heat and save battery life. I noticed that the battery's charge lasts for quite a while which is great. I haven't bought a car charger yet to see how fast it will charge on the go. I love this phone, and I couldn't resist purchasing it once the blue one came out. Get this phone if you want the best from Samsung! (By the way, there's a surprise in the box, Samsung brand earbuds!)

This phone is an upgrade to a Samsung Galaxy S4 that received water damage. This phone is definitely an upgrade. It doesn't have a ton of apps preinstalled which is a nice change of pace. The water resistance feature is a great upgrade. With little kids, this is a must have feature. Also, the speed which this phone responds to apps is amazing!

Camera is good, no front flash. battery life lasts up to a day even when charged overnight. Email doesn't refresh by scrolling down like S3, S4, it only refreshes in a time frame. Phone does not come equipped with virus protection, advise downloading app. Emojii keyboard is in 3d, does not send that way. Left touch screen button is not menu button like S3,S4, It just closes open apps, windows, etc. This makes it difficult to pull a menu bar on websites. Caller voice volume louder than usual, sounds as if phone is in speakerphone mode, try to turn volume button down, doesn't change. Phone package does not come with amenities list, i had to google to know the amenities that come with the phone. Lastly, hard to find compatible car charger, everything sold is either iPhone or smaller USB like S3,S4. Hope this helped.

Love this phone. The camera is exceptional. It comes with a lot of features, some of which I don't use, but it can be customized for each person on an individual basis. Easy to use and not too difficult to learn. The basics are just that, but the extra apps might take a little getting used to for someone not familiar with a smart phone. Otherwise, for those familiar with smart phones, this one is extremely user friendly. Great phone, great battery life, great speakers, and the best pictures I have seen to date! And I love this shade of blue!

I had the IPhone 4S before I got this phone. I hated the IPhone because the screen was too little, the battery life sucked, and I thought the phone itself was very slow. I got the Galaxy S5 a week before my contract ended. I really don't have any bad complaints about it. The screen is big enough where I can read even small print. The camera is like 10 X's better on this phone than the IPhone. I would tell anyone to get this phone!
