Not perfect, but the closest I've seen in a mobile

I bought the second gen iPhone, then third, then had a Motorola Droid. My contract came up, and I was ready to move back to iPhone (the Motorola phone had so much bloatware and I had issues I never had with Apple devices - hard freezes, crashes, OTA updates from vendor failed towards end of life). I borrowed a friend's S4 for a day and thought it was on par with iPhones in terms of snappiness and no-nonsense functionality. I think that having been on Android 2.3 for two years gave me a view of "Android is great because of how much more you have control over, but not quite as foolproof and bugfree as iPhones." The S4 with Jelly Bean was just as responsive and pleasant to operate as an iPhone. I thought that Swype was a much better method of on-screen keyboard use than the older predictive tap-typing UI's. Now, the hardware itself - the screen is fantastic and much better for use as a multipurpose mobile connectivity tool. I can open and read PDFs reasonably easily, the built in mail client is much better than Apple's (again, iPhones are great, but the size is a real limiting factor if you rely on your mobile device as a work tool). The camera is as good as the 5S' but lacks things like HDR, panorama functionality, and highspeed video. Downsides - Android is still suffering from a totally open appstore that spawns exponentially more junk/copycats/possibly malicious applications when compared to Apple's walled garden. That being said, if you're judicious about looking at what the app's permissions are before pulling the trigger, you'll likely be fine. The phone is large. That may be a downside for some. I'm 6' and can't use the device 100% with one hand - I can do anything I need to on an iPhone with one hand. The phone doesn't feel like it could withstand what other smartphones can without extra protection (a case and screen protector). I have seen some incredibly banged up but totally functional iPhones, but I hear that Galaxy S devices are not nearly as sturdy out of the box. Overall I love this thing. I was expecting to come away with a better device than my old Droid regardless of what I bought, but I wasn't expecting that I'd start using the phone for a multitude of things I'd normally need my laptop on hand to do.

I love the new S5. It's the perfect size visually but also not too large to comfortably hold in my hand. I use it a lot in the kitchen to pull up recipes. It's nice that if it gets dirty, it can just be rinsed off. Its easy to use and operates quickly. My only complaint is that the camera is a little sluggish. It however does take great pictures.

We actually had the Galaxy S3, and this model is leaps and bounds better than that model. It's a really nice touch that it is water resistant. Maybe the only bad part about that feature, though, is that it's a little slower to plug the charger in (since you have to open the little door). But I think the benefits far outweigh the negatives there.

This is my second Samsung Galaxy and I absolutely love it. Crystal clear display, rock solid operating system and amazingly fast performance. The size is also a huge plus. I have large hands and don't need a stylus.

Almost bought an iphone again, but glad I picked the S5 instead. The price was much cheaper and I have been happy with all that the phone can do. The phone is fast and has many options, along with being water proof!

Picked up the phone a week before the S6 came out. Like the fact that I can replace the battery without having to send the phone out. Takes great pictures and has everything needed to make it a great phone.

Traded up from a LG "smartphone" and have been really happy. The battery life started awesome but seems to have tapered off lately. Still better than what I was used to, but not as good as I'd hoped it would be. It's super fast. Even though it took me a little while get used to, I now love the screen size. The camera is amazing too!

Love my phone! The battery is good (not insane but good) and there are a lot of handy features. Some of the navigation has a learning curve, and the volume button is a bit resistant. Other than that -love!
