I'm your typical 34 year old male that is constantly on the move with a 2.5 year old running around at home. I enjoy a wide assortment of outdoor activities, fishing, boating, skiing, sports in general etc. I was given a Galaxy S 5 (regular model) as a work phone and had it for about 5 months. Recently I was laid off, and was in need of a new phone. I wanted to get the S 5 again because it was such a fantastic phone. It is a quick, responsive, easy to use, and a well designed piece of machinery. When I went to pick up a new phone I was unaware of the "sport" model. After looking at it more, and comparing the sport to the regular model, it made perfect sense for this to be my next phone. The Sport model is ruggedly built in order to withstand a more active lifestyle so there's less need for a bulky ugly case. According to other reviews online that "test the phone" they say it's able to withstand drops and falls from 4 feet easily because of it's more rugged exterior and more solidly built design. Even though it's supposedly a more rugged exterior, it's still very stylish and sleek. I actually prefer the Sport design over the regular design. This sealed the deal for me, especially since I don't need to add a case to help protect the phone. It's solidly built and rated to be water proof up to 3 feet of water! This was a key selling point for me when I had to purchase it again. There are two key differences I've found between this model and the regular S 5. The Sport model does not have a fingerprint scanner. I never used it once when I had the old phone, so that was not a factor in my decision. The other key difference for me, is that on the Sport model you have to physically push the buttons on the bottom of the phone. On the regular S 5, it's a "touch" button for the front of the phone. This did take me 2-3 days to get used to, but I actually really like it. There are no more "mis-touches" when using my phone. Over all, I would highly recommend this phone!

I love this phone except that I broke my first one by dropping it on the floor and it's supposed to be shockproof so much for that. Also after a year having this phone sometimes it doesn't get text messages

Wife upgraded from iphone 4 to galaxy S5. Nice phone overall, but it's seems so delicate, misses her iphone. Cool features and very loud. I would definitely suggest otter box defender series.

This is the worst phone ever! It broke the next day. The screens is so fragile that within 24 hours the screen cracked.

Was not aware phone would cost me extra per month on my bill, had to wait so long to get it activated it was time for store to close. Was rushed through signing paperwork didn't get to read it , couldn't get info transferred to new phone.

I purchased and used the phone for a week. I loved the screen, responsiveness and widgets and all the apps you have available. It was lightening fast compared to the Galaxy 3 that I switched from. However, I may have been shipped a lemon. It would notify me that I had messages and missed calls, then I would clear them, and they would pop up 5 min later with the same notification, over and over again. It also would freeze up when I went to enter the passcode to unlock the phone. No reviews told me that with the "rugged" version you do not have access to the fingerprint scanner to unlock the phone either. That was a bummer. I dropped the phone from 3 feet and the paint chipped in 3 places. No cracks though, that was nice. Love that the phone is waterproof, however, you need a tool to jimmy the usb charging port open whenever you want to charge it. What a pain in the butt to always have to find a credit card or tiny screw driver to open the door. The battery life was not as long as I expected either. With phone/ texting/words with friends, Facebook usage I still needed to charge it around 3pm everyday.

Love the phone, it has a faster processor then the S3 & 4. Nice color. Sadly there are very very limited accessories. Whats up with that Samsung. Better camera then before. Lots of features that I will probably not use, but nice to have them there. Waterproof, (bout time.) Also easier to handle in my hand. Just right for texting and internet use.

upgrade time. Started looking two months ago. went into best buy they had a great deal on the phone. turned in s3 walked out with a even better phone. some bloat but I deleted that. this phone is awesome. pictures are near perfect sound is awesome. lots of room to move with phone .bought a otter box to cover it.

Not what I expected. Freezes when the screen is wet. My screen cracked from having it in my purse within less than a month.

Ordered this phone online and had to wait over 7 hours in the store to get it activated. Horrible customer service.

Screen broke first time it was dropped. Phone was dropped about 2 feet. Unreal.

I bought this as a gift for my father for father's day and he loves it! He coaches a soccer team and needs a tough phone but stylish too. Lucky for him that phone is the exact color of the soccer uniforms!! It takes great pictures. The only issue is that sometimes the screen goes black and it displays phone info, then it goes away. It hasnt caused a big issue and doesn't happen often.

Well, for what you pay for this phone it should not have any glitches right off the bat. It's OK. I bought the Sport phone. I wish I had gone for the regular S5 because there are more accessories for it. Oh well. I am stuck with this for 2 years.
