I bought this open box, in "Excellent" condition. Usually I'm hesitant on open box items, but for $300+ off of new, I figured it was worth a shot. The store was over an hour round trip, but again, for the savings, I figured it was worth it. First off, IMO, an excellent condition open box item should at least include the original packaging. This was placed in a random cardboard box with a loose tangled charging cable thrown in. No sim ejector even. It was nearing closing time when I picked this up, so I felt bad asking the employee to take time to turn it on, so I took it and left. Long story short, this thing had to charge for nearly 30 mins before it even powered on after I got home. Also concerning, the Open Box label had been printed in July of 2024. It was March of 2025. What was this phone doing for EIGHT months in between? Now to the disappointment. I could not get RCS Chats to work, no matter what. Every trick i could find online, I tried, but it just sat on "Setting Up". It worked perfectly fine on my four year old S21 Ultra with the same sim. When I finally headed back to Best buy to ask for help, the few employees standing in the front basically told me just to return it, and buy another phone. I didn't even make it to the phone counter. Well, that defeated the whole reasoning to buy the Open Box item. So it got returned. Lots of wasted time, energy, and gas spent on MY behalf on a phone that was obviously defective, and the employees couldn't have cared less.
