I was an iPhone 5 and 6 user for a couple of years and when I heard that the Galaxy S6 was coming out I couldn't wait to try it. I love the style and feel of this S6 and user experience.

Let me start off by saying this is not my first Galaxy. I started with the Galaxy S4 the day it came out after being a longtime Apple user. I switched at the time I felt Android was on par with iOS and since then I believe it's been iOS that's been playing catchup with Android. I then upgraded to the Galaxy S5 and now the S6. I picked this phone up on Friday the day it was released.
Physical: The phone itself is a thing of beauty. Yes, it looks like an iPhone 6, but so what? The iPhone 6 is a very well made device. From a distance, you might be fooled but get up close and there's no doubt, this thing has the look of a Galaxy. Gone are the ugly plastic dimples on the back of the S5, replaced by smooth glass. I love the way the glass front and back smoothly transition into the metal frame. As a Galaxy S5 user I am happy to see that the charging cover flap is gone. Unfortunately, waterproofing is also gone. It was nice to take the previous generation into the lazy river of a water park but honestly I'm happy to give up waterproofing for such beautiful aesthetics. The power button has been moved about a half inch from the S5, almost to the center of the right side of the phone. It's going to take me a while to get used to that. The metal frame on either side has a straight bevel that really helps in holding the phone. The home button is slightly larger to accommodate the new touch fingerprint which works much better than the previous versions swipe fingerprint sensor.
Storage: Yes, the microSD expansion is gone. Is this is a bad thing? For some, maybe. Most users are probably fine without it. I had microSD cards popped into my previous phones and tablets so I thought I would miss this feature. In reality, the microSD functionality on Android is limited, so I hardly used it. Most apps like large games can't be installed onto the SD card. My movies and music are in the cloud. About the only thing it was useful for was storing photos, as it was really easy to move them to the next phone. But really, those are backed up to the cloud too. Point is, the way we manage our data has dramatically changed since expansion storage was introduced and with the generous onboard storage this phone gives you I don't think it's needed anymore.
Battery: The battery is smaller than the S5 and non-removable. To me the fact that it's non-removable is not an issue. Is the battery life shorter? Too early to tell. The fact that I can just set my phone down on a pad and watch it charge is amazing though. Another feature (like wireless payments) that Android beat Apple to. I haven't had a chance to test the quick charging feature. So far the battery does not feel to drain any faster than I would expect.
Performance: One of the first things I noticed in the first hour of using this thing is how fast it is. It really flies compares to the S5. And my S5 was recently restored to factory so it's a fair comparison. I think Samsung made the right decision going with their in-house Exynos processors instead of the Snapdragon this time around. I have confidence this thing will run anything you throw at it.
Software: It's Android 5.0.2 with the typical Samsung spin on it, known as TouchWiz. In the past Samsung would throw every bell and whistle they could into their software offerings to try to differentiate itself. In this latest version only the best of those features remain like multiwindow, power saving, S-health, etc. The Do Not Disturb mode finally works properly. The UI itself finally looks polished and well blended with the underlying Android UI. The settings menu is better organized.
Bloatware: Yes, depending on the carrier, the phone comes with a lot of apps you probably don't want. But guess what Apple fans? iOS has bloatware too and you can't remove it. I don't want apps like Apple Watch, Passbook, Newstand, Stocks, Weather, etc on my phone. HIding them in a folder is not acceptable to me. The S6 allows you to disable all of the default apps so that they are no longer consuming cpu, memory, or space in your app drawer. Remember that default applications are system apps so the fact that you can't actually delete them is a non-issue. They are on a system partition so deleting them would not provide you with any more usable space.
Camera: I am most impressed by the camera on this phone. It is very fast - just tap the home button twice to open the camera app. You no longer need a camera icon on your home page to launch the camera. Low light pictures are some of the best I've seen on a smartphone. I will probably not be using my DSLR as much as I have been. This thing also takes 4K video (again...sorry Apple fans) which looks absolutely stunning on my 4k monitor.
Overall, I would recommend this phone to anyone - even diehard Apple fans.

Overall this is a really good phone. Samsung has really started to make some changes with their design aesthetic. I enjoy the solid metal and glass build. I do no use a case or skin on mine and have had no problems with scratches or anything. The battery life sucks, but that is in part due to my location and bad 4G reception eating the battery. Fast charging is the best and the inductive charging is a great novelty, though I rarely use it. I'm not sure that the off-contract price is worth it, though. I am eyeing one of these "flagship killers", the ones that have great specs but are far cheaper than this. Samsung should keep up the good work, though.

Pros:
Processing speed and RAM are incredible. Makes multitasking quick and easy. Front and rear cameras are out of this world. Screen and color quality are lightyears ahead of Apple products. Wireless charging capability , and this phone came with a free wireless charger. The battery life is out of this world. Lasts 2 days with normal use and the ultra power saber feature is legit. Speaker clarity is great. Lightweight and sleek design and fits perfect in a front pocket.
Cons:
Only thing I can think of is the inability of memory expansion.

Having upgraded my S3 for an much needed S6, the camera & processor are superb. Only gripes are the removal of any mini-SD card for extra storage & NO removable battery. Fortunately and finally a metal case contains this beast of a smart phone, along with wireless pad charging capabilities, as well as fast-charging too. Hopefully S7 continues to build upon a better smart phone & some.

nice design since i wasn't too interesting in the edge version, its very slick design not bulky, the battery does last long enough without need to charge if not constantly use. the camera has very good qualitiy as well recording videos and watching video, the processor is very fast and it does show with little or no issue of lag or freezing. the settings are not difficult to understand but there are some i don't quite understand nor don't know what exactly they do so best leave them be or ask to see what they do and if you really need it. a personal thing i don't like is that one of the two keys in the front of the phone was changed from shortcuts to settings from the apps you open and the home button holding and double press setting were changed.

This phone is really nice. Looks good. Takes great photos. Super snappy. Haven't experienced any major battery issues. I keep it in power save mode with no noticeable hit in performance and still have plenty of juice at the end of an average day. Quick charge is nice, if needed. Storage also not a problem with all of the cloud backup options.

Great phone, no freezing problems, screen is beautiful. Fits in my girl pockets with the otterbox. I am an extremely heavy user, the battery lasts me about 7 hours. I love how quickly it recharges. Not a fan of the wireless charger, I always place my phone wrong and end up with a dead phone. Interface is easy, works well with my TabS.

This is a gorgeous device. Samsung has really stepped it up in terms of build quality. The Note 4 was a modest improvement over their plastic past, but the S6 takes a giant leap towards premium quality. The camera is excellent and the redesigned UI makes it easy to use. I don't love TouchWiz, but the addition of custom themes means you can keep the great features, but change up the look. The battery is my biggest complaint, but there's some obvious bug in the phone that won't go away. It should last much longer than it does, but for some reason it drains very quickly. Otherwise I don't have any issues. The display is beautiful (probably the best on the market IMO) and the new fingerprint scanner works like a charm.

Overall I like this phone but there are definitely concerns. The camera is amazing. It takes great pictures and I love that I can double click the physical home button to bring the camera up quickly.
My biggest concern is battery life. My phone barely lasts a day and now I have bluetooth, auto sync and location disables. As a result I am hesitant to consider a Samsung phone in the future.
My other annoyance is the Samsung bloatware on the phone. It takes forever to get updates and there is a lot of extra apps that you cannot delete. I will probably look for a Nexus or vanilla Google phone in the future.

I'm loving this phone so far. It's only been about a week since I've purchased it but the battery life is great and i love how fast it charges! The camera is awesome too, been taking non stop selfies with all my friends and they can't help but take my phone and take some of themselves too (conceited i know.. lol) but overall i really like the phone. Its fast and does what i need it to do.

Left Iphone for this will never go back. Great performance, a better "phone" experience and easily recreated my playlist in Google Play Music. The only concern is the battery life requires a daily recharge, but I guess that is becoming the norm these days. Really like being able to share micro USB charging cords with all my friends and other devices in the house.

I've never been a fan of the Samsung Galaxy line but this phone is great. The Samsung software has been pared down (though not eliminated). The screen is gorgeous. The batter is good but not excellent. The camera is fast and takes excellent pictures.

I have to say I am extremely impressed with this cell phone so far. The camera is awesome. When taking pics its as good as taking them with a DSL expensive camera. Has many functions and features that are great. Easy to use. Samsung has out done themselves with this cell. I would buy Samsung over I-phone anyday.

Bought this phone instead of an iphone because of the better camera. First android phone that we have had. Impressed with its ease of use and the texting, which seems to know what you are going to say. Transfers of pictures from iphone, was not as easy and notes kept in the iphone were a problem to transfer.

I upgraded to this phone and couldn't be happier. It has many of the same features of the Galaxy tablet so it's really easy to move back and forth between the two. The 64 GB of memory means you don't have to worry about using up storage space for pictures, videos, music or additional apps you may download.

While the phone is a gorgeous achievement in design and speed, the battery is not. There are numerous reports of battery issues on this phone. It barely lasts me a 8 hours with moderate use (text, email, FB, browsing). Also, touchwiz, while paired down significantly is still weighing down the phone. It just tries to do too much that is not necessary. Samsung has put in so many tweaks to Android, that it just takes too many moves to do basic tasks. Don't get me started on Carrier bloat and them arbitrarily deactivating features (I'm looking at you AT&T).
The phone is going back. Luckily, I'm still within my trial period. I couldn't handle this for 2 years.
FWIW, the camera is PHENOMENAL!! Best smartphone camera, period!
The two stars are wireless charging and camera.

The Samsung S6 smartphone is the best phone I have had to date. I got the Samsung - Galaxy S6 4G with 64GB Memory Cell Phone - Black Sapphire.
So far I have had plenty of room for the apps that I need to have. The camera is awesome! Super clear pictures and is easy to use.
The major complaint that I have is that there is no expansion slot. I have found that if it becomes necessary there are ways to connect to portable storage devices through the mini USB port or by using wireless or Bluetooth.
It would be nice if the screen was a little larger but I have the Samsung Tab 4 too, so I am alright with the screen. If I did not have the Tab 4 then the larger screen would be desirable.
Love the phone and if it had a storage slot or dual USB I would give it 10 stars!
