Just upgraded from an S5 to S8. I used the S5 for 3 years and dropped it once. It survived with just a dent in the corner. Carried the S8 around for one day and dropped it five times. No damage but convinced me the S8 by itself is too slippery to carry around without something to give it more grip. The Otter defender fills that need. That said, it's a great phone: lots of memory and speedy 4G LTE performance. Plus induction charging. Have yet to try all the new features but have tried the bio-metrics. Facial recognition works great even with my contact lenses but doesn't recognize me with sunglasses (that's a good thing). But the finger print sensor is no better than the one on the S5. That's why 4 stars instead of 5. Also has the new USB C connector which meant I can throw away all my S5 charging cords. The S8 comes with a micro to C adapter but haven't found one for the S5 cords. Email, messaging, and voice recognition are all great. Samsung also has a new app that transferred nearly everything (apps, contacts, photos, passwords, etc) from my S5 in a few minutes. With the S9 coming out the S8 prices are being discounted so it's a good time to buy one if you don't need or want to pay for all the latest bells and whistles.

This was my first Android phone having always bought iPhones I had to upgrade a few months before the new iPhone was announced so I thought Id go ahead n give it a shot. So far I cant say im unhappy theres little things here n there like the spelling correction seems to accept incorrect spelling & for whatever reason even after a year almost of having the phone my fingers still dont hit the right buttons on the keyboard giving me tons of typos yet I go to use my iPhone & type perfectly one handed or two handed. Screen is great, sound is great, samsung pay is great I recommend defineately.

Bought for my son as a present. His old Samsung was dropped a few times and the screen cracked right away. This one has been dropped but the screen seems more durable.

S8+ is the best phone out, from the camera to thw battery life you will not be dissapointed!

I am very happy with the new s8. It has been very easy to use and hold. I would not go without a case at all and get a screen protector and protection plan asap.

Upgraded from a Galaxy S5 to the S8. My S5 filled up to a point where I would have to delete apps just to update. Hopefully with this storage I won't have the same problem. Love everything about the phone. My only gripe is with a glass screen protector. By adding this, I lost the sensitivity of the screen. I'm adapting but maybe an update will come out to fix the issue by allowing you to increase sensitivity.

Love my GS8. It's an upgrade from my GS7 edge. I've had this phone for about a year and half and i have no complaints. love the slim and smooth feel of it. colors are crisp. Camera is great, sound is too. edge to edge view. I paired it up with a slim otterbox, for extra protection. it charges very fast with its fast charge capability when using its fast charge cable.
