    Still not in love

I was hoping for incredible long-range photos and super-easy, intuitive function. What I got was a steeper-than-expected learning curve - even for a veteran Android user - not-as-sharp-as-promised photos and other distractions, such as pop-ups I can't make disappear, an impossible-to-see charging light and that darned Bixby button that, as a leftie, I keep hitting accidentally. I'd still probably buy this phone, but I'm not as wowed as I hoped I'd be. Plus, there's no print manual! And the online version is 200-some pages! That's a real pain if you just want to know how to make that truly annoying bouncing circle of FB messenger photos go away or change the color of text messages (if that can even be done). Issues like that shouldn't be hard to figure out by looking through phone settings, but that's not the case.

Perfectly good phone however the curve screen makes it virtually impossible to find a screen protector that works correctly tried 5 different brands from the cheap to the rediculously expensive none of them are worth a hoot. Hope for the next version of S series phones has a flat screen

Of grated to the S8 from the S6 and I prefer the S6 better. The phone did not come with a user manual in the Box. You have to go online to find it. I still haven't done that. I HATE Bixby. It's annoying and I'm always hitting it by accident. Although it does make me even more lazy when I'm trying to close my apps. I just realized that when view my pictures in the gallery I can zoom out or in, and the thumbnails adjust for better viewing. Do not like the size of the screen. My S6 was bigger. I do like the front facing camera options. Over all is a great phone and I do love that it is waterproof.

I moved from an S3 to this S8 and it seems unnecessarily complicated. My S3 was intuitive in use and rugged in nature. This S8 is always wanting to show me something new rather than do what I intended. My wife and I both have S8s and while we're not nerds we are tech savvy. These are turning into more of an aggravation than a help.

This thing is so fragile. Even the back is made of glass and has already cracked. Keep in mind I upgraded from an S5 that I have had forever with no breakage. Also the rounded corners and sides make the touchscreen difficult to use because you are always accidentally pushing or selecting something just by holding it.

Wow 1st thing is that the back-cover would you would think be plastic is also glass and that is a bad deal. 2nd I've had problems with having data connection error and I've had to reset it like 8 times in the last week. It seems to take video and pictures pretty well. Application's and games work good. If you are a little bit rough with your phones I would suggest not buying it because it's fragile all-over the place. I am not sure why Samsung made the back-cover glass instead of plastic dumbest idea ever. l

Sure, some of the upgrades are great from the s 7. But the curved screen sometimes makes it difficult to enlarge or type without another screen popping up. The camera has some nice new features, but the phone is long and narrow and sometimes if you want to get two people in the shot up close, they really have to be on top of one another. I've checked don't recommend, but I'm on the fence. I've had the phone almost 2 months and I've had a galaxy since the 5 came out.

I'm not so impressed with this phone. I've always had Samsung phone and would have never thought I would want to stray from this brand,However this phone has been hard to use, shuts off at times, very difficult to get use to.

So far, I am not liking this phone. Mainly because I had to sign with Sprint. Horrible coverage and reception. Can only use the calling and web features 40% of the time and I live in a major city not a little country town. Sprint was the only carrier that would finance me on this phone and I cannot wait to pay this thing off so I can switch back over to At&t! It is a BEAUTIFUL phone however and once I get better service and hopefully better software updates it'll run flawlessly.

I loved this phone when I purchased it. The camera is amazing, and is worth the purchase. The phone itself has had problems and in talking with fellow Samsung addicts, this is becoming the new normal. My phone got very hot and actually burned the case that it was in. I had to send it back to get it looked at. My replacement phone had the touch screen become unresponsive. Maybe it's my bad luck, but the phone is great if you can avoid the issues that are becoming common.

After lusting over the new curved edge phone, I decided it was time to upgrade when my older Samsung device started running out of memory and battery life. Unfortunately, it took less than 24 hours to confirm that I really didn't care for this phone. There are a number of reasons why, but they all seem to be linked to the curved edge glass. Sure, it looks interesting, but it isn't functional. First, it effectively reduces the useable area of the screen. The images do wrap, as does the keypad. But it takes a different finger pressure to press a key along the edge as it does anywhere in the middle. So you needed to press harder to hit the Q, A, Z, P, L and period keys than you do the middle keys. Which is to say, just typing a text or email, one has to use different stroke pressures to type fluently. This variation of required pressure is extended to the phone's built-in functionality. It required a hard press to awaken the phone, but a different pressure to use it once open. This seems to be due to eliminating the bottom button. I like the button, and believe it makes the virtual items of the phone far more valuable with it in place. I can go on, but the message is the same. I chose to return the S8 and get an S7, which I LOVE. I would say that I am a brand loyalist. I have confidently purchase Samsung phones and television for years. Perhaps I am old school, but I hope that Samsung comes out with a different phone in a couple of years when my S7 is getting tired. I will not upgrade to a curved glass model in the future.

I love the phone and the new sleek design except how the back is made of glass. Phone is very slippery so make sure to get a case or insurance will cost the full price if the back cracks. Also, not a fan of Bixby. I wish I could shut it off.

Frost off I miss the finger print on the front of the phone. Not always practical when sitting at my desk. Also hope they bring back the colors for the edge contacts. Room for improvements that hopefully come with updates.
