bought an S8 (AT&T) from Samsung direct, and its beautiful, but... My previous phone is a Huawei Honor 8, which I love. I expected the S8 to be so much better. In my opinion, it isn't. My Honor 8 has been lightning fast since the day I bought it, very very few issues at all. In the week I've owned the S8 I've had more issues than I had in months with the Honor 8. (glitches when navigating the phone, a couple random restarts, among other things). As almost everyone notes, the S8 fingerprint sensor is poorly placed, and is fussy to use. The Honor 8 fingerprint sensor is blindingly fast and works EVERY time, without fail, and is positioned perfectly. S8 camera is no doubt better than the Honor 8, but, the Honor 8 does some cool stuff with its dual cameras, and I've been delighted by the pics from it, regardless of the 'quality' at a pixel level. Also, the AT&T apps, and Samsung apps just annoy me. None of that on the Honor 8. (last night some apps installed themselves on the S8 from the 'galaxy app store' - apps I didn't request or want) So, my SIM is back in the Honor 8, and the S8 is going the way of eBay. In summary, the S8 is a really beautiful phone, feels like a perfectly machined piece of solid metal in the hand, really nice. Screen is awesome. Lots of cool features. Great phone. But personally I prefer the Honor 8, it just delights me every time I use it.

It want turn on so I brought it back to Best buy they said the mother board is fries so I have to send it back to Samsung. Now I'm out a phine for who knows how long. I'm very very displeased that best buy couldn't give me a new phone since its under warranty. Im upset

This is the phone that made me switch to iPhone. It had some kind of defect that allowed ads to pop up out of nowhere and take over the entire screen. I tried to have the issues fixed for 2 months and finally gave up and made the switch to iPhone and never looked back.

Phone is fine but best buy customer serivce was bad

I haven't been this excited about a phone. Three things that really set this phone apart are: 1. Amazing screen and clarity. I was pleasantly surprised to see lights around the edge when playing music. 2. Speed. Fastest phone I ever tried. 3. The earphones that are included have amazing sound clarity. They cost $99 but are included in the box. Oh yeah. The camera is amazing too. So happy.

Can't make or receive calls, drops calls and locks up. Purchased this phone two weeks ago.

The phone did not work properly. Calls would not connect

Within 4 days the screen shattered and it was in an Otter Box case.

I will never purchase anything from the company again!

I have been looking forward to the S8+ for a while now. I'm glad to finally get my hands on it. Its not much different internally than the S7 or note 5 but the outside is really nice. Its much more refined than previous galaxy phones. I don't usually use a case on my phone so its external appearance is important to me. On a side note that has nothing to do with the phone itself. I preordered this phone, enticed by the option to pay $99 for the "samsung experience" package" like many others. It was a sweet enough deal to convince me to buy a phone without even seeing it. However, samsung had set aside such a limited number of these packages that they were out of them by mid-morning on release day. I docked a star for the shady marketing ploy.

going through the whole Samsung galaxy phone lineup from the first galaxy phone to this one (s8+). this is by far the most durable, longest lasting battery of any phone I've used, easy all day use with out going dead. the multitasking is suburb and the extra wide screen gives you a ton of real estate to look at anything you can throw at it

I love everything about my S8+. I've only had it since Friday but I'm discovering new things everyday. There are a couple things that I noticed though. When taking pics, sometimes that come out with black lines through them. I contact Samsung but have not heard back from them. Hopefully it will be corrected with an update. Also, one of the biggest features is Bixby and I can't use the voice command feature yet. Again, I believe this will be corrected with a software update. Overall, I'm completely satisfied. I have very small hands and I'm still able to utilize my phone with no issues.

I've had this device since launch and I have been loving every minute of it. The design overall is very beautiful besides the placement of the fingerprint scanner. I have smaller hands and it can be sometimes hard to reach the placement of the fingerprint scanner. The phone since day one has been really good on battery life and keeping up with pretty everything I throw at it. I have been greatly pleased with the features. The Samsung Cloud is more convenient then Google Photos and the full backup is fantastic!

This phone is a far cry better then the Samsung S7. not only is the camera better but so is the performance, and screen quality

I would highly recommend this phone, i was able to run my business so much easier, the speed and screen made surfing a snap.

When I first watched the revealing of this DOPE phone, I thought to myself, the S8 plus, a phone that is 6.2 inches in height. Now how am I gonna maneuver my hands around this phone?!? I'm a woman, so it's gonna be quite a challenge to see how well or how terrible me and this phone pen out.

I have a case and the expensive gorilla glass screen protector and dropped it from about 2.5 feet. Broke the protector, screen, and digitizer. Never had a problem with any of the other galaxy's. Before that I was running to my car when it was slightly raining. Enough to make the phone damp from being in my pocket. Bam crapped out. Wasnt in my pocket 30 seconds like that. Lucky they replaced it free from some mess up samsung did about saying it was water proof and wasnt. I like the size of the phone and all its capable of but I'm switching to the note 9 in Hope's of better luck.

I had a Galaxy Note 4 since 2014. finally upgraded due to a good sale. the S8+ was great at first and obviously a MAJOR upgrade from what i had before. screen is gorgeous, phone is fast....but 2 days ago the software took a crap. the phone is locked in Airplane Mode. so i have no service , no calls, no mobile network. couldnt find a fix for it online. at&t cust service was useless. At&t store people were a waste of time . samsung tech support no help either. so my $800 phone is just a tablet now. i got the upgrade blues... resolution: phone is under warranty so At&t is replacing it... should have got the S9...

I get errors every day and they won't disappear. you can search forums and you see people are complaining about this version of androind on Samsung galaxy s8. I always get the error of "DQA stopped working" and "IMS stopped working". I have claimed my free VR but they did not approved my bestbuy receipt. It took me 2 hours for the first time to be on hold to talk to an Samsung agent about my problems. As I am writing now, I have been on hold for 1 hour and 8 minutes to talk to an agent to make sure I will get my free VR as they promoted. Basically I moved from having an Iphone 6 s plus to galaxy s8+ but I am totally disappointed with Samsung specially its costumer service and promotion department. After 4 days of people complaining in Samsung forum about errors we get they had not even posted one reply.
