Went the distance to get this tablet (long distance. It holds the battery time, runs smoothly and the 'pen is a great feature continued with this model. Light weight and very portable. As I use mostly in lanscape miss comtrols on long edge of tablet. Hooing to HDMI connect to TV to use in non-Wifi area. Would purchase from product again.

This is my 2nd Galaxy Tablet. Lost my first one earlier this year, and had to get a replacement. I'm not likely to utilize all of this powerhouse's features, but love the ones that I'm familiar with. Intuitive, simple, and reliable, you will not be disappointed with you own. Always learning new / better ways to be more productive. To BestBuy's credit, they offered a FREE set-up session with their Geek Squad, which was very helpful. An added perk I appreciate. My kids both have IPads, which are fine, but this is my tool of choice.

I got this as a "gift" for purchasing the s7 edge. It works perfectly, very fast, smooth. I also got as"gift" the 256 gig expansion card. My internet is super fast, everything is super fast, has the octa core processor which makes noticable difference. The only thing is that due to having the s7 edge now, and a good laptop, the need for a tablet is questionable, though it has benefits, great for sitting in front of the TV and taking care of quick on-line tasks. It starts up immediately and is way faster on the internet than PC, though there are issues it can't handle, like flash drives that certain websites require. My kids have ipads, they are a bit faster, but this android has more functionality with internet. Battery life is good, but charging time is surprisingly slow, takes all night. Camera is medium to poor. spen is kinda cool but not necessary. the octa core processor, etc is what makes this a great tablet.

I finally broke the power input on my old Nexus 7, so I decided to upgrade. Spoiled by the awesome screen on my Nexus I had to have a great screen, and this Samsung Tab A delivers in spades. After using it for a while, I found one great thing and one odd thing. The tablet has speakers only on one end... coming from a Nexus 7 (full stereo in landscape mode) this is a little bit of a surprise, so fair warning the Samsung Tab A is stereo only if you hold it in portrait orientation - a shame since everything else is better horizontal. The only other con is this is a HEAVY tablet. Both hands, always! Finally, the great thing (and biggest pro aside from the screen) is the INSANE battery life. This tablet can go for DAYS without a charger. Overall I do recommend. This is a great tablet, even with the weird audio orientation.

First, I love the octa-core processor. It's really fast. I also like the fact that you can put a 256gb micros sd card in it. Watching movies is awesome and the battery life is excellent. The s pen is really cool. There are too many applications with it to mention. Both camera's good and you can record at 1920 x 1080.

The battery life and the touch sensitivity of the spen are second to none. And at half the price of the ipad pro its a deal and a half. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a work tool, or school note taking tool. The internal storage is low so if you want a gaming device better get something else.

I got the Tab A with S-Pen to replace my Note 10.1 that I have had since Nov 2012. The old one decided to die on me after 5 years of faithful service. I have had the Tab A for just over a month. In general, I like it, but it does have some cons. Some of the cons are moving from Android 4.2, but others are the Tab A. First initial setup. I got the Tab A while traveling for Christmas, so I was in a hotel room on New Years Day when I was doing the initial setup. 1. The charging cord is way to short. I had to use an extension cord on the charger to be able to sit on the bed to use it. 2. Setup would hang testing the internet connection. Since the hotel required you to signon, and setup just assumed it was on an open network. I finally connected it to my travelling puck and it finished setup. 3. I was presently surprised how much of my former environment was automatically restored to the new tablet. However, once all the Apps were installed, available storage was under 2 gig. Such bloat ware, and you can’t delete it. Strangely, after about 2-3 weeks, I noticed the available storage jumped up to about 6 gig. I could not find anything missing or changed. I assume some App update shrank the size of some App to a more reasonable size. 4. To hold it in portrait mode, while the charging cord is connected, the buttons are on the bottom. Sitting on my chest, they get buried in my sweater. 5. The s-pen that comes with the Tab-A is very slim and takes a while to get used to. I found I could use the S-Pen from the old 2012 Note 10.1 which my fingers were used to, but I had to keep it in my pocket when not in use. Of coarse after a month I have managed to lose both my old S-Pens. (I also found I had to tweak the settings to let me use another S-Pen while the original was in its slot). 6. Every time Google tries to open something in Chrome, you get a 20-30 second hang followed by a popup saying Chrome is not responding. About the time the popup arrives everything frees up. Google / Chrome / Tablet? 7. I used the 64gig microSD card from the old Note 10.1 with no problems for a month. Now the Tab A says it’s corrupted. Windows Laptop reads it fine, and a Tab 7.0 has no problem with it. Searching online shows I’m not the only one with this problem. 8. I ordered the Official Samsung Hard Cover for the tablet. The bare tablet is too slippery to work with and the hard cover is not any better. I’m waiting on a MoKo Leather cover now.

I have other Samsung Galaxy Tablets which are all great! But this is my first with the S Pen which is a total game changer, absolutely amazing! I have only had it for a week but native Samsung apps for the S Pen work great. Additionally, I and have downloaded a handful of apps for taking notes and drawing sketches and S Pen works very well with them too.

This tablet replaces a 4 year old Samsung Tab A. It is fast and easy to use. My wife loves the S Pen. She doesn't use the features much, but as a stylus it is much better to use and she always has it handy.

I purchased this as a gift for my 9-year-old grandson. He was so surprised and is so very happy with it. Just the other day he thanked me again for thinking to get it for him! Having the stylus fit nicely into the lower right hand corner is a terrific idea...it's always available and won't get lost. He had no problem using it from day one. He likes the big screen a lot. I got a screen saver and a cover just in case he dropped it. There are parental controls that can be installed for safety from the internet. The price was good and he's already gotten so much use out of it that I know it was worth it. He can use it to send handwritten notes, draw, play games, and type his book reports, plus other uses. I am wondering if I should get myself one!
